42 years old and the fastest rc I've ever had was a purple vw bug with big headers in 1991. This makes me want to get into the hobby. So much nostalgic fun!! Thank you.
The launch from a ramp, the flying and the landing! Every moment was epic! That Traxxas is one tough vehicle, and it probably must be, to be stable on 100mph
It was enormously LUCKY! Landing square on its wheels saved it a LOT.
@Tyler Seabook I will say that Traxxas builds a solid chassis. I'm not a fan of many of their vehicles running gear. Their differentials are notorious for disintegrating hours after being replaced but then agin those Vellenniun ,or however they spell it, motors and ESCs are no joke! They have a lot of power and I don't know what they top out at in RPMs but I know it's up there. Gotta be over 50,000. That's stress for any gear box or dif. I don't know if I am agreeing more or disagreeing more? There's a little criticism and a little bit of support for them

@@milletoid my FG could shred the plastic gears in minutes, hit a goal post with my friends marda flat out and the chassis bent 90 degrees and the air filter on the back compressed to half its depth, shocked to see the traxass drive off like that.

The fact that these RCs can take that much punishment and still drive says something about the quality of the parts.

Great job Kevin. The first run with the Kraton was quite impressive. It had so much force that it tossed the monitor like a piece of cardboard all the way over the ramp.

So I've tried to run the numbers based on 4:08, comparing the distance between the car and the black area before the jump between frames. And I estimate it was going 39 metres per second which is just under 90mph, not too far from advertised, wish he had put a gps speedo on it though so we could know for sure, take my result with a big grain of salt.
Wow, that was an awesome! This is really impressive, especially if you consider that when the XO-1 was released, onroad rc's had the durability of cheese.
I think this is the first time ever ive seen Kev spare a rc car from destruction but to be honest the XO1 deserved it after that jump with pretty much no damage 😁

Im really impressed with just how tough traxxas trucks and cars really are. Ive got a rustler vxl 4x4 thats been through the wringer the last four years (not intentional) and it keeps going and going...broken axles yes, but I think that one weak spot saves from bigger damage.
