@@KevinTalbotTV Please help me Kev is it possible to put on a different motor such as the 2435 brushless motor on a esc that was meant for a surpass hobby waterproof 2430 7200KV Brushless Motor i ruined the gearing on my rc car and i don't know where to start in repairing.
It's amazing that it moves with you sitting on it much less pulling 3 cars with you sitting on top it just shows you how much better rc cars have gotten in the last 40 years
I worked for a lg corporation in the 80's and my dept was next to engineering. I had a large drafting table and was drawing up an r/c vehicle with a 2 spd trans and metal chassis, and drive train. I knew very little about engineering so I'd pop my head over the partition to ask the engineer sitting next to me. Next thing I knew I had 4 or 5 crammed in my cubicle going over my plans. "you gotta do this, gotta do that, gotta beef this up" etc. We finalized the drawings and I set to work trying to cast the parts. No joy. 6 months later the boss (who also joined in the fun) offered me a jr position in his dept. After I accepted he said: you know why I offered you the position? No why? That r/c project. It showed me you had the brain of an engineer. My job was designing store fixtures, displayers, sign holders etc for a large retail chain.

That is truly impressive. The torque that little motor has to pull about 15000lbs or about 6800kg for those over the pond with you Kev. Kev you sure could put some twin turbos to good use on the isle of man in your Huracan Perfomante. Just saying it would sound absolutely epic!!! 👊👊👍👍

I was impressed when I first put an a-frame on my petrol lawnmower and used my heavily moded SCX10iii to tow it and mow my lawns, this is even better (although I do mow my lawns more often now lol)

I'm not surprised that it can pull those vehicles, it's all about breaking the friction. A man has pulled an ocean liner, a tractor from a semi has pulled 1000 tons. It's just physics.
But the Flymo mowers from Toro are great ;) And Innovation RC had such a similar project too with an Arrma Kraton 😮

Who would think this is fake? People are so annoying sometimes. I think they say it's fake just to troll. It's so obvious it was real. I pulled my Toyota Tundra with my SCX6. I added a bunch of brass and lead weight to the chassis and in the tires to keep traction. I am now in the process of converting my SCX6 Honcho into a 6X6 crawler. It will be able to pull even more. Kev, you should convert one of your Raminators into a 6x6? 😁

I have this exact truck. Same color and even the same axles. I have the 40 series tires. I actually wish I'd got the Treal straight axles instead. Mine sits too high now for much real crawling. Only reason i bought mine was to pull a stroller that's intended to be pulled behind a bicycle. It'll pull that with 2 kiddos without issue in high gear on 3s and even easier and faster on 4s. That's only a hundred pounds or so. I did add an aluminum tow package that looked just like the one on my pickup. While i don't have to sit on mine this is quite a bit more impressive.

All in all rolling resistance with the 3 vehicles is approx. 222Kg assuming total weight of all 3 vehicles combined is 5550 Kg. W ÷ 25 (hard standing) W ÷ 0 x 12 (all wheels free) W ÷ 60 x 0 (Gradient zero) =222Kg of resistance.

4:00 I wondered if you'd ever get around to doing a remote control lawnmower. If I were you I'd buy a self propelled, then kit it up with a receiver and brakes to steer it. Where I live guys put snowblowers on the front of r/c cars and clear their driveway.

It's hilarious that the answer to pulling is pulling more weight but the RC just doesn't weigh enough! Kev you are going to make the isle of man population double in a year. Just gotta make sure they have enough money to live there.😅😂
My town council uses huge radio controlled lawn mowers to mow the large grass slopes at gorleston seafront. They are pretty epic.
I used to go to awe Aldermaston. Nearly twenty years ago , to repair early versions . Good on slopes😅

The scenery is beautiful there Kev.
Assuming you have the necessary traction, at low speed and on a flat surface, all you need to overcome is the rolling resistance. If you can find a way to connect to a train, you will get much more impressive results because the rolling resistance of metal wheels on rails is much lower than tyres on the road surface. Additionally, if you simply let the air out of all the tyres on your Range Rover, you probably won't be able to move it due to the increased rolling resistance for the same mass.
Sway bars would help prevent one of your front tires from lifting as easily. Maybe you should fully convert an SCX-6 to a sit-on tow rig. Design it to support your weight and add a seat. :)
For pulling purposes wouldn't the trill stright axles be better than portals? Just a thought, love the channel man!!🔥🔥🔥

If it came down to it you can add more gear reduction at the portal if needed. Can't do that with the straight axles.
