  • Back in the winter of 2007/08, I had a co-worker that had to travel north of Mirabel, Canada for cold weather jet engine testing. He had horror stories about the oil for the engine turning into pudding and having to cram it down the funnel with a metal rod - or the time he got attacked by the "Canadian Trap Door Alligator" (stepping off the edge of the packed snow and sinking over his head into the powdery snow.) But he did come back with a really cool set of fur gloves and a fur hat that he bought from a little old Native American lady.

We have a few inches right now, but supposed to warm up in a few days and stay warm. 🤷🏻‍♂️ they are saying maybe one more cold spell is it. Also, have you thought about putting a blade on the back?

    @copperowlwoodturning5929@copperowlwoodturning59293 ай бұрын

  • Hi Jim I would hate to live in a place with so.much snow. My in-laws used to travel to Canada every year for the skiing, but haven't been since Covid. It's so hot here, the local shops are running out of ice. It even very hot at night, can't seem to be able to get the place cool, nor take off anymore clothing/skin. The curtains are closed to keep the sunlight & heat out & the air-con doesn't seem sufficient! Other than that we are all fine -you & yours dealing your challenges; & us with ours dealing with our challenges (I daresay it could be a lot hotter but thankfully it's not.) Thanks for the video. Glad I'm not there! Cheers

  • Ya know, that looks fun! I miss getting on my dad's John Deer and pushing the snow with the blade in the front. He usually made us kids shovel the walk ways. I miss the snow. And the other commeters were right a bowl, hollowform to look like a snow globe or sno effect would be super cool especially with the hyper shift and some white dye.

  • Up here in Timmins, we only got about 3 - 4 inches the other day, but we got nailed about a week and a half ago or so. Over 12 inches inside a 24-hour period, plus more later in the week. I don't mind it, though. We need the snow if we want to keep the level of forest fires down. Still sucks to shovel, though. 😁

  • I miss real snow. I grew up in New England where there was real snow. Now I live in PIttsburgh, and while it snows, it's not fun snow, it's nuisance. We've just come of 4 days of snow with only 5" total on the ground. That won't make any decent snowman (yes, I'm well over half a century old, but you've still got to have fun!)

  • Well Jim: at least you had fun. You shovel like there is going to be no end. I do the same thing and wonder that my back was still able to let me get on and off of the tractor. Is your blower unit fried? I could have come down and blown the snow away for you. Take care and stay safe. PS: banging on a bucket would have been nice to see. 🤓🤓
