during this tests, the Jimny only spent 2 litres of gas while the others probably 40 litres😂
Yes
Yes price and milage is really important.
lmao
Yes survived is most valuable price in jungle for off-road, Jimny is top list for it
That would be an exaggeration. The real ratio would be closer to 2:1 or 3:1, which is STILL a big deal...
Crazy how well the Jimny did on normal road tyres..imagine how well it would do on proper offroad tyres
I got one.....takes me everywhere haha
Hancock dynapro tyres for 75 euros each! Working and looking great on the Jimmy
If you pimp them out a bit with a lifter kit, decent tyres, a snorkel and a winch they'll go pretty much anywhere. Considering they're about a fifth of the price of the Merc there's really no argument.
yeah, imagine a modified one
Trust me, normal cars are really underrated. People just assume a bigger engine or an expensive price tag also means a better car but that’s often not the case.
Honestly, the Jimny was the best. It had street tyres and still performed well, and if you spend a bit of money beefing its off-road capabilities, it would smash the other two for a lot less money.
The uphill climb was like a walk in the park for the G-Wagon. As for the Jimmy, the little guy did really well.
Without proper offroading tyres and suspension otherwise it would have performed well enough at all levels
Did that with basic road tyres too🤣
Jimmy did well because he wasn't on an offroad track. it ends there as soon as it starts - it doesn't drive anything, It can't - it doesn't have differentials.
It completed all those challenge without a differential and the other two are packed with offroad techs. Get that little guy a diff lock and see how it whacked the other two overpriced junks to shame lol@@Mijanboy
@@Mijanboy You realize one can put an ARB locking diff into a Jimny for less than the price of a scratched rim or body panel on that Benz? Even over here in Tirol, hardly the cheapest place on earth to get your car fixed, they're €1.3k per axis plus labor, which you being the experienced off-road racing champion would of course do that yourself on a friday afternoon I take it - and I mean, which actual offroading vehicle is not modified according to the owner's needs? Now honestly, what does that remind you of: The Jimny is a small offroad vehicle, cheap and simple to make and repair, small overhang, practical to use and clean, and comparatively low power - that's LITERALLY the exact same concept as all the other offroading classics represented when the first made a name for themselves, but which have by now gotten fat, large, and comfort-oriented along with their aging customer base - from Jeep to Landrover to Landcruiser to Mercedes G - that's the formula for a functional offroader that actually gets taken to places, not by putting big V8 engines and blingy leather in and selling them for 150k+. I'd put it like that: The chances of a Jimny getting stuck on a wintery alpine trail over here are slimmer than the chances of a G-Klasse getting stuck AND getting pulled out by a Jimny which happened to pass by.
Admit it we all rooted for the Jimny in our hearts ....💕

Yeah..... A lot on the mileage and on the sales price as well.
i think it doesnt even have stock rear diff unlike the amg which is probably triple locked, spend 1500$ and jimny becomes a beast even without the lift
Yea, when I saw they didn't even the odds by putting on the same tires, I stopped watching.
Could buy a few and be really happy
for the price of the Jimmy vs. everything else you could modify it to better than the others and still have gas money to actually drive it.
I've watched a dozen of these comparisons videos. And I am honestly impressed by how the Jimny keeps up with all these "serious" 4x4s; whilst still using road tyres!

Put Jimmy in front of a real offroad hill - he'll never drive it. You must not count the Carwow circuit for children. And why does Jimmy never ride that offroad hill?

Can you search up the Mahindra Thar? It's a good car too.
ya and for the money, cant even compare. Also wont break down like benz
They are great offroad vehicles. A glorified quad bike really. This one had road tyres on and still did great. If it had proper offroad tyres on it would've done way better. Add an aftermarket diff lock and you have an excellent 4x4 vehicle.
@@asitadkar4976 Seems like a rebadged Jimny

It's amazing how Jimny tackled those obstacles without front or rear diff locks. Now imagine the Jimny with lockers it will smoke any 4x4.
I think the only reason the Jeep failed the last challenge was because you didn't power out like you did with the others. Although, I'm always a huge fan of the Jimny. Crazy how well it did with street tires and no lockers
The fact that you didn't have to be afraid of hurting the Jimny, unlike the other 2 should also have been factored in.
100% they were being super soft with the G and the jeep.

Not with a G AMG. But a usual G 500 is a typical offroader.
I do
G550 4x4 doesn't agree
I would for sure as it's the king of the off road together with the Toyota
The tires on the Jimny are like "all-season" tires. A small up-grade here would have made a big difference.
Small upgrade on all these manly the driver and tires would have made all the difference in the world
Very good point. A lot of offroading where I live and tire choice can easily be a make or break moment.

Used to off-road Suzuki LJ50s in the early 90s, they were old then. And they could handle anything you threw in front of them (in a green lane-ing sense). They are the Jimney’s spiritual precursor so I’m not surprised it did so well.

My takeaways: - Mat really loves the Jimny..."The Little Engine That Could". - The G63 is a marvel of engineering held back by people who can't afford to take advantage of it's capabilities. - The Jeep comes from the factory best equipped to win all these events and didn't.
The Jeep didn't because they didn't floor it on the hill climb and it bogged down on the drag race.

@@aleksandaraleksic4067 There are. They have less prominent exhaust pipes, and more offroad suited tires.
Thats why I voted Jimny, it can get anywhere and even at more places than G63 (the tree road challenge) and it’s much cheaper which is also the point of off-road cars - they are meant to be fairly cheap pure value off-road machines not show off for moms who’s got wealthier husband. And it seems that LR knows that by putting new defender in such low starting price...
The only problem with the Jeep is that it's a Fiat.

Jimny for the win. Price vs performance it can't be beat. It's cheap to maintain, run and there's a million aftermarket parts if you want to build it into something wild. I've crossed the Simpson Desert twice, Cape York, driven most coastal tracks, and some of the most rugged mountain country in Victoria and NSW. I did all this in a completely stock Jimny with the cheapest street tires I could find. 150,000km later and it's still running like new. Absolutely the best 4x4 I've owned.
I think if these are simple "trail" trucks, then all you need is to add KO2 tires to the Jimny + lunchbox front locker + rear POSI LSD locker + a 2.5" lift. It will be unbeatable. The rear LSD won't compromise ride quality, and the front lunchbox locker won't kick in anyway until the Jimny is in 4WD mode, so no issues on the road. It is a light vehicle. Had enough of everything. Add a little winch with synthetic rope. Very nice rig!

Sam Tunks jimmy for me all day simple and light no fancy shit
@@samtunks8833 the Jeep is also a v6
Jimny wins as it’s the most honest car. Whatever that means..
The Jimny is the one that would tell the shop keeper when they've given it too much change
Even the model before jimny (Gypsy here) is also underrated offroader
aww its like a family of 4x4, Mr.G, Ruby and little jimmy
I'd rather buy a Jimny and spent that entire extra money on the essential upgrades and make it a cuter beast 😈
supercharger
Plus you won't lose half a soul, when you scratch it. Like that is one of the main limiters of a luxury off roader. You don't WANT to off road it, since you might scratch the nice paint and chrome. Jimny? well it's got meh paint job anyway. Just spot fix the paint, if it scrapes. Bumper takes a hit... Well it was kinda cheap plastic bumper anyway.... Some battle scars just make it look actually nicer. Shiny lacquer metal G-wagon.... Do you even dare to take it out of garage. It's got cheap jimnys worth of money in the paint job alone......
Actually good point because for something so cheap you can make it look so expensive 😀😀😀
👍👍👍
Thats next level thinking....
I root for Jimny so hard when it climbed that steep hill!
Hahahha same here 🤣🤣🤣 I was like Yeeeaaaaaah 💪💪💪
And with basic road tyres
😆🤣😂 me too
imagine with off road 215 wide tires
The Jimny did well during the tight turn and up hill as well.
I really enjoy carwow. Use them for a lot of reviews. And I should say, I'm really impressed with the Jimmy. What its capable of doing, for so little money, is impressive. Having said those things, however, I should also state that I've owned 3x Jeep Rubicons over the years ('03, '08, and '06). Even the garbage '08 I owned (it's engine was a dog) could have beat that hill. I ran a lot of hills similar, actually, in East Tennessee (steep hill, loose rock)--and that '08 did beat those hills. Also, giving 3 points to each winner--just so you can have a 3-way tie? Come on guys. Overall winners, based on price and capability (IMHO): 1. Jimmy, 2. Jeep, and 3. G-Wagon.
What did Jimmy astound you on the chicken and rabbit trail that an 8-year-old can ride on a bike?
@Mijanboy you're just a sad bot hater here... Saw a couple of your trash excuses just to bring down that little beast reputation but it will never work on people who has experienced its capability and reliability and having so little to pay for it unlike some overpriced money sucking piece of junks...
He started the Jeep slowly on the incline. Drive hard into it and it would have no doubt completed the test. Manufactured a result.
😂
In the last test, with the Jeep, either put in 4H and just charge that hill, and let momentum do the work like he did with the there 2. Or put leave it in 4L, lockers on, and crawl it. He did neither.
Dont forgot this, cus this is the biggest joke of all. "The jeep is the only one with atleast somewhat of propper offroad tires" and loses the hill climp.
He put it in 4L and manual mode, he didn't give the transmission a chance to upshift, hitting the rev limiter and limiting wheel speed. Just put the sucker in 4H and gun it or 4L and crawl it.
20 more years and the Jimny still running when the others are in workshop
The AMG is going to be a nightmare to maintain, everyone usually leases those so their wife has something to get groceries in, then they just move on to something newer. Those Wranglers can be good cars though, the only reliable product from Jeep.
@@mrjohnnyk Yes the wrangler seams be the only good American car
yes true
No,my 2009 g still does all of that
BENZ and Suzuki 🔥👌 but the jeep will be in workshop .
I have a Jimmy and it is incredible the price isn't nearly as high as the others but it still did just as good
"You're freaking awesome you little machine"😭💞
Considering initial investment jimny is the clear winner.
Maintenance cost too I'd guess
@@Kanvereb. Exactly. One can afford to go wild with that thing and repair it with fraction of the cost of it competitors.
The Jimny would last longer than the Jeep or Gwagon.
I love the Jimny. It's just such a working class hero. Being smaller really helps it be really good in more terrains. Cute as a button as well.
At the end of the video all finish the jobs, what gives me the chill is, jimny did all that with JUST NORMAL TYRE.... When he kiss the jimny (at the end of last test), I tell you IT IS NORMAL. I own an old jimny few years back, I bought it from a single mum, the day I paid the car, she lean and kiss the jimny, I thought it was weird because it's just a cheap car and all..... Years go by, I don't have to tell you how much I love the jimny, it has ALL THE QUIRKS and all, but the day I have to let it go, I kiss it more than once before the new owner take it away. The car is pretty basic and nothing's changed except the steering wheel. It has a bad habit of turning off the engine (by itself) at the busiest intersection, but I still love that little bugger...... This little car WILL GIVE YOU MORE that what you've paid for, that's the theme here.....
Greetings Mr Matt. I would love to see a video on ford bronco 3 door vs suzuki jimny. Thanks in advance.
