We’ve brought together the new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4XE and my 2022 Suzuki Jimny Commercial to see which is the best off-roader. We will do some different challenges like a drag race , up hill drag race and we will compare the two cars and give them points. This is the David vs Goliath Battle of the Off-Roaders! Very good comparisions. I love rubicon, but its too costly. And for the small state of north east india, Mizoram its difficult to own Rubicon. But luckily , Jimny's going to launch in India too, in 5 door version.

I think the only aspects that would give the Rubicon the win are interior and diff lockers.
You can always add lockers to Jimny. Can't change size of wrangler.
@@Z3V5B0 This is the big version of the Wrangler. It is also the second most expensive behind the Wrangler 392. They make a 2 door that retails for about the same price that he quoted for the Jimny.

Even if anyone offered to switch their Wrangler or new Defender for my Jimny, I would keep my beloved Jimny. The only car I would trade with was a very pristine old Defender...
Try the Ineos Grenadier.
l've had both, and l would go with the old style Defender, in standard form the Defender was far superior to the Jimny offroad but worse on the road!!
you can accept a wrangler, then sell it and buy 3 jimny with what you get. LOL

Not really apples to apples, should have been a 2 door wrangler.. I've owned both and love both and really wish Suzuki would sell their jimmy in the States !
The Jimny is about 1000kg and 100hp , the Jeep is 2300kg and 380hp so it's got a huge power to weight advantage for the jeep 😁. But yeah i also wanted to buy a 3-4 year old Jeep at first. Also looked at a Lada Niva haha. But can't say the Jimny has disappointed me yet 😎
2 door jeep is still much heavier.

Both are exceptional and capable vehicles. However, the tests have many discrepancies and leave a large margin for bias thus producing inaccurate results. 🤷♂️
I tried coming up with challenges so the end result would come out about the same haha. I really love my Jimny but also a big Jeep Rubicon fan so i never want to call one of them bad or make them look like a complete loser 🙂. Will be asking for a lada , old defender , and many more offroaders for the future to make these kind off videos. Any ideas for cool and good challenges? Let me know ;-)

i have 2 ideas : 1: how slow can you go in 4L on a flat and also on a hill in all of the vehicles until the engine cuts out 2: tow something (trailer or so) on a muddy or sandy uphill in 4L as slow as possible (without use the solid axle lockers on the Rubicon)
why without the lockers? the jimmy is heavily modified and the jeep is stock but you won’t even let it use it’s stock features
Power-to-weight ratio Vs the heavy components Vs the stock production related did not take its forgiving utility required were the overweight vehicles becomes the power-to weight challenges there is fine examples from early HMMWV or reconnected as Hummer under the 6.5 litre displacements although it was contracted to construct by General Motors but the displacement is heavy but the perfect solutions for utility is to set the gears at the lowest portion of low-end torque whilst driven by Automatic transmissions although it did not runs over 100 kph but that truck can cross with viable considerations
You should test Jimny's articulation against Wrangler's, frame Bender, which one is easier to cross a mudpit in. Even better if it's a 2 door Wrangler

I have a Jeep and wish they sold Jimnys in the States.
I own a Wrangler and a Discovery 4, yet I put down a deposit on a new Jimny today. Very excited but 8 months to wait.
Totally different cars. The lightweight Jimny makes you feel like your bum is touches the mud it's driving through 😁. The heavier more comfy off-roaders just don't give you that feeling.
I respect the Jimny. Fun car indeed. Still my best car ever is the Wrangler TJ 2 doors. Now I drive the 4xE. Nice car, but a complete different véhicule from the TJ and the Jimny.

Jimny is a affordable offroader light vehicle like Xpulse bike , you asked for Mahindra Thar it is same like Jeep Wrangler even the look and some features
Both great vehicles. The strength of the jeep is in the gearing, wide track and articulation. It can do any kind of driving on any size tires with the 8 speed high / low. With the Jimny you have to regear for the kind of driving you want to do, I.e beach or rock climbing. But the jeep will always be heavier.
True, you'll see the 'Rock Lobster' mod in Gen 3 Jimnys where the transfer case is replaced with the lower geared one from the Gen 2. Both great machines but I'll stick with my Jim for how fun and small it is.
I could buy 3 jimnys and just one geared for each LOL...
In Japan, the production country of Jimny, the main grade is the engine displacement of 660cc.
You should climb over obstacles next. Rocks, ruts, hills etc. that would be a good comparison to see the capability of both. Wrangler has power, articulation, lockers etc. but the jimny has the short wheel base and lightness. Oh and charge the battery 😂
Jimny has everything it needs. Small enough to go around all the BS.

Bro i am also waiting for this but don't know why Suzuki is not bringing Jimny to India , india already have Jipsy which is now almost discontinued no new model has come , Jimny should be launched in India
I'm really surprised to hear that it hasn't been launched in India, considering it's a much, MUCH larger market than Pakistan. We do have the new Jimny here, but it doesn't seem to have caught on as its price is around ~4.5M here. People looking to go for a 4x4 tend to want a lot of space, features and power for that kind of money. And they can get those in the shape of older land cruisers, prados, pajeros etc etc etc. Also, the sj410 (called Potohar here) hasn't enjoyed the following in Pakistan that it appears to have enjoyed elsewhere in the world. @@AbbasBinYounas yes, we are also surprised why Suzuki is taking so much time for the launch. They are Working in a 5 door version of the jimny also. The old gen jimny(called gypsy in India) was very successful. Only budget 4x4 we get is mahindra Thar. When launched jimny will be much cheaper than thar!

@@adithyavk1764 5 door does sound *really* interesting! The SJ was never popular among the masses here. Only the middle-to-lower--class people who needed an off roader to travel to their hometowns in the hills and could only afford this 4x4 bought one. Otherwise it was only government departments who bought these. It was the same for the previous gen Jimny as well. I'm afraid the saga will continue... I hope you guys get Jimny soon and get to enjoy them to your heart's content.

If the Rubicon was owned by a friend we would have done that. But it's owned by Jeep Belgium so it's a press car. And i don't want anything to happen with it 😂. Next time it's gonna be against a friend's car and we will do one haha

@@LifeofSmokey All depends on what you expect from your 4x4. Has it to be a working horse to tow trailers and take stuff over difficult terrain, a Jimny wil almost never be the best option. Is it to have fun playing in the dirt and sand, than the Jimny will probably be the best option in many cases. Is it to do rock climbing, than the Jimny will almost never de best choice. To compare the fun and capability off-road, you should make a course or road-book which you drive with every 4x4 you want to compare and then look which one did the course the best (did not get stuck, did pass the obstacles the easiest, etc…) It’s not because you drive faster up-hill that the car is better, but what is your impression arriving at the top, which one gave the best feeling? But this is if you want to do real comparisons, not if you want to make good entertaining. It’s a bit like the difference between Fifth Gear and Top Gear, the first do more real comparison, the second is more entertaining. If you want a good base for real comparison, take a look at TFL off-road. But all this said, I do like the entertaining part of your up-loads and that’s the main reason for me to have subscribed. But if it were only comparison of the Jimny with others, I also would have subscribed. I’m a Jimny addict. ;-)
@@ullie76 haha thanks a lot m8! Yeah for me it has to be entertaining. Made this video really quick out of my head. Didn't plan anything as i only had the Rubicon one day. That why i got my yellow go pro box as a starting line 😅. I really wanna do way more of these comparison cause they make no sense but are really fun haha. Next time i might even do a reverse drag race i have no idea 😅. Got many crazy stuff more planned , also with my future "budget offroader".... gonna be nuts i hope 😬🙈 Also i do ride motorcycles for a long time on and off-road but as far as 4x4 driving my skills are zero to none 😁

amazing what people will do to attempt to put jeep in 2nd place. people and car companies have been trying for over 80 years to put jeep as second best off-roader. they discovered all you need is a youtube channel and you can make jeep come in 2nd place every time.
In india practicality is the USP. That may be the reason for the 1.5l engine and an extended wheelbase.

Are you joking? A 2 door Jimmy vs. 4-door 4xe Jeep Wrnagler Rubicon and your first thing to compare is weight and cost? Great comparison. Jimmy would also be fast based on weight. And turning with a 4-door vs a 2-door. Be original and do a real comparison, not like all the other auto comparisons on KZhead.
We where testing the Rubicon and the 80th Anniversary that day and making videos. I had the idea to go and get my Jimny and do some challenges. But didn't prepare anything so it's all improvised 😁. That's why i said , let me know what challenges would be good for the next time we do something like this. What do you suggest we do next time? 😊

7.7 Liter/100 KM? I get like 8.5 - 9 on the jimny. Using BF Goodrich AT KO2. Why such difference between yours?
Those are Suzuki and Jeep's numbers. They are always ridiculous low. Sometimes i think car manufacturers push their cars down a hill with the wind coming from the back when doing their fuel consumption measuring 😁 Mine is always around 9.5

for me if compare the 2 with same tyres JIMNY: -better for daily driving, if u dont need much space , and max 2 people -better for park -cheap parts , cheap maintance -more fun on offroad -very good capable off road -price WRANGLER -space -more capable off road IF do mods -more secure on road airbags, tecnology -more tecnology -power and consuption -more aftermarket parts i have a jimny here in brazil its 3 times more cheap than the wrangler 2.0 sahara , the rubicon its 3,5x times more pricey and its not the 4xE
No, Jimny is more offroad than Rubicon, it's the fact!
Expect the Suzuki Jimny an offroad version of the Austin Mini Cooper under the similar aspects lightweight short wheelbase small displacements few required parts primitive technology low cost / low maintenance modest price / base price forgiving utility as though Suzuki Cars considered a Japanese Car with low end technology as though less burden for price and the forgiving hardwares even less sophisticated than Toyota or Nissan or even Honda in terms of race specs demand only Suzuki only refarining its racing specs expansions although surprisingly that Suzuki did not comprising with any serious race car business but 4x4 offroad category were Suzuki Jimny were fit to be eligible alhough this is my one of the interested utility criteria were Suzuki having leading edge from these

@@LifeofSmokey go check out driving sports TV and TFL they do proper comparisons of normal off road capability, traction, articulation etc. Most people who own a 4x4 and go off road don't do drag races because you don't buy one for its acceleration. The hill decent tests however are very good and important.

This test is biased, because it is clearely said that the battery of the Rubicon is empty. So you have only 240 HP and not 380 HP, and also not the tork of the electric engine from the Rubicon. Not fair...
There was some time in between and we took it out for a drive so battery was working at full power 😁. All had to happen fast , and nothing was prepared. Got any ideas for better tests or comparisons? 😊

I love your videos. However, you definitely did not use the proper Wrangler to compare to your Jimny. You should have used a 2 door Sport or Sport S with the 3.6 and the 6 speed manual. You compared a longer, heavier, 4 door with an automatic transmission hybrid vehicle to a shorter, lighter 2 door with a manual transmission gas-powered vehicle. You are comparing apples to oranges.

Mate every speed test is useless because you had no battery
