Friends helping friends in need. That's what it's all about. Much respect. I enjoy both of your channels. You guys do great work.
Yup, both channels are top notch.
The team work made a substantial difference. Watching the metal moving back into shape and get smoother was really encouraging, I can only imagine how much better Brent feels.
Karl still so happy to rewatch what you and Brent did to straighten the 35 out. Don’t think a thing could had made him happier. This was a lot of work on his part. Yes his project when the fire happened. Your a super young man to do all the things that I think has got him back to some normality. God Bless you Karl. It won’t be forgotten! 💯👊👍❤️
Love how the KZhead community sticks together. Long live the Phoenix.
It gladdens me to see the coupe coming back to life, and I can't imagine what it means to Brent.... you're a good man and a great friend,Karl😎👍
Two of my most famous & wonderfully talented KZheadrs in a magnificent collaboration showing what can be achieved with a few homemade tools & lots of determination. Love you guys. AWESOME VIDEO. Billy J...... Queensland, Australia.
Thanks a lot, Billy ! I had a lot of fun on this one
It's such a pleasure to watch 2 talented craftsmen at work. Karl, you are a fine young man and Brent is so lucky to know you.
Great team work!...Something everyone else would have written off as a total lose, seems to be rising from the ashes. I remember all the work Brent put in on this car before the fire. Metal moving is an art.
Really enjoyed seeing Karl and Brent working together on this coupe, alot would have written it off, but with such a positive attitude and great skills working together, what a difference it made, very cool to watch and Im sure Brent feels a heap better now! Love watching all your work from Sydney Australia
I really have to love and respect Brent's positive attitude. He lost so much and yet he still had a great attitude and he looks at the positive. Karl, it's fantastic that he has a friend like you to assist with the rebuild here. Great job sir!!!! And Brent? You keep up the fantastic builds too sir!!! We are all watching and rooting for ya!
Glad to see you working with Brent again.he is such nice guy and very talented.
Reading sheetmetal is truly an art…! I wonder what this process would be like compared to late model body panels? 🇨🇦
As a bodyman of 31yrs, you guys are taking on one hell of a project! That amount of work is for the true warriors. Too much for me😄 That’s a serious commitment my friends. WOW!
That sledge hammer on the ceiling of the car - you''re going to give away all of Detroit''s secrets! Great to see that you have the help, knowledge, equipment and willpower to fix it!
Man, it's got to be really hard going back to a project like that. So much time and effort just to have to start all over again. Takes a lot of spirit to not just move on. Brent seems to have such a positive attitude not letting this get him too down.
Very cool of you to help Brent. You two got most of the dents out, and reshaped to about what is was. I wish I had you two's skills at body work. Keep up the good videos.
When I was a young boy right out of high school my friend and I open up a body shop. I didn't know anything about body work but replacing parts. Then when I got into fixing dents I amazed myself. Just kept on working with metal to try and get it as straight as possible then lay the mud down and sand block sand block came out better than factory. The painter gets all the credit not the guy that spent many many hours working the metal and body filler work. Never dought yourself you put your mind and work to it you will be able to pull off most anything.👍🏽
I don't think I've ever seen a more positive person than Brent, no matter what problems come up "including the fire that ruined a lot of things" it's always close to laughter.....you Brent are a role model, Carl is too a rolemodel .
Dream team hands down,so nice of Carl too help his buddy ,shows just how far the car world friendship goes
This is absolute top tier level restoration skills. Impressive! What strikes me is that wherever there was lots of deformation, where things collapsed and deformed under it's own weight, gives a perfect indication about where to add support structures to the body for a stiffer, stronger, better handling and safer car.
Karl and Brent you are doing what all hot rodders should do.... helping each other with your projects. KOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys work well together. The synergy is at another level.
I watch this car being built from the ground that the day he started he broke my heart to see it burned in his shop I'm so glad that you came and helped him you have an excellent talent Fixing things and designing things You both put your brains together it was able to save this car that is totally awesome You have an awesome talent yourself
You two amazing metal workers. And all Aloha. That's how strong friendship is formed. Carl, Brent you never cease to amaze me. It's cool watching 2 excellent body workers and metal shapers in action. God bless you both as you work this labor of love. ❤ Aloha, Mama
I love the fact you can jump in and lend your expertise to the build
This video speaks for itself. You are truly a great person. Much Respect!!!
Brent and Karl, you guys transformed that quarter panel from a 10 gallon Bondo job to a half pint whilst taking major distortion out of surrounding body parts WOW!! Followed by the roof!! OMG! Thanks guys!
One expression sums up these two good old boys "frick and frack" .. these two are like twins ... great work, great shows, great people. Cheers
Love watching this from two different aspects. You both have your own working, filming, and editing styles. Great seeing you guys pound some life back into this coupe.
Outstanding work. Watching you guy bring Phoenix back into shape was amazing. I think the annealed patina is one of a kind.
You are a metal master! I never thought this car could be put back in shape, great job!
Been in body work restoration work all my life have never seen work this good and I know how hard it’s is and you both work in perfect harmony great job . Shout out from uk 🇬🇧
This is, by far one of the most entertaining videos I have yet to see. There is no way one person could do what was done. NDW.
Man, not to many would even attempt such a feat, I thought my 62 C10 was rough for a project, it was nothing compared to this beast. So glad he is decided to try and save it, if you guys can't nobody can imo.
Won the battle when the owner is laughing while popping out the dents . Hard blow and pill to swallow but great craftsmanship and attitude ! This suckers fireproof! No stopping it now
Karl and Brent you work so well together love both your channels totally amazing excellent craftsmanship well done guys ❤
Watching your videos as you create such flawless repairs makes me NOT EVEN WANT TO BOTHER. hahahaha But my options are: replace the car, or ...make do.😮💨
Awesome show Karl .. you and Brent both have good natures and seems like you'd both worked together for years 😊 Brothers at heart ..
I have more respect for you and you work with every video I watch. Friends like you are had to find. Please keep up your great work ethics.
Metal that has gone through a fire looses it's "tension". So a lot of metal shaping has to be done to move those bulges and ripples out. Reduced tension is a bugger because the metal has less springback so it is easy to go to far and end up with "stretched "metal. Enjoyed the videos of you helping out Brent. Way cool! AL B.
cool. It took me a week to get a burnt up knucklehead headlight done. Good on ya.
I had my doubts about this one. I know she has a long way to go. But, im seriously impressed with how far you got in one day.
Thanks for helping Brent. Your awesome!!!!!
Thanks Karl for helping Brent, that's friendship, I love you guys . From Brisbane Australia.
Great recovery there Brent and Karl. You have given me a new appreciation of working on a fire damaged car instead of just scrapping the shell. I won't look at a burn car the same again. Q - if the steel is hard - would annealing it help to restore the workability??
It’s sad what happened but great that you two are able to work on it and help him save it.
That power plenishing hammer thingee is awesome …. Great way to iron out the wrinkles …. Way less filler required 👍🏻
You guys work great together, much respect for you helping brent out.great work on that body shell👍. Looking forward to seeing your ramp truck progressing, along with the zephyr and Kristina's caddy....damn,I'll have a lot to watch.😎😎
This is the good part about it and everything else that got burnt being metal, most of it can be reworked and shaped back to usable, only parts I would have any issues with reusing would be suspension parts being weakened or brittle by the heat, but glad to see you guys keeping it and fixing it instead of scraping it all like a lot of people would do.
You guys are absolute magicians! To me that would have been nothing like a pile of scrap metal, yet, here we are!
Great team work, great progress!! Thanks for sharing!
Great work on that hopeless warped and softened metal. I have grafted a burned 36 Ford sedan floor to a rotted 36 Ford Cabriolet. That floor was soft on the part of the quarters at 8" above the quarters where I sectioned the burned sedan quarters to the non rotted Cabriolet. That's when I then found that the sedan quarters needed to be tilted in to meet the Cabriolet where I then hammer welded with a oxyacetylene torch as I did on the whole car. I did make some error because of the cabriolet cowl section being separated from the rear and floor of the sedan which should have been in a jig to force the back inner floor and secure it to the rear crossmember. The entire trunk opening was rotted around the channel which caused it to distort while I kept the door openings aligned.
Here it is mid night, I should have been counting sheep about an hour ago instead I have been counting dents disappearing. Awesome job to you both and super amazing of you Karl making the trip out to the flat land to bring tools and lend your very talented hands. I think this out of everything was a real low for Brent and having you come and work along side with him gave the needed lift to allow the Phoenix to rise up from the ashes.
Reminds me of watching Christine the way her metal was moving around and taking her shape back. Great work fellas.
Watching you guys work is amazing. I know with enough time you two can fix anything.
Fantastic, a masterful demonstration of what looked like a total wreck. Most impressed.
Thank you for posting this. I have a 65 chevelle that has the roof pushed in by people standing on it. I have been intimidated by pushing it out. I'm sorry for your loss, but it created a great video opportunity to help others learn.
I watched this on Halfass channel... Such a bummer.. That ride was really comin together when he lost everything.. But the y/t community came together & got him back up & running. His new shop is goin up now & he will be whole again soon.
fair play to you and Brent, very impress with the workmanship i think most people given up and start again i would have gutted with the fire ripping through my shop
Hi Karl, I enjoyed this collaboration. Getting the steampunk Phoenix back is what I have been waiting for. I have been watching that build from the beginning. This vid shows how effective your planishing hammer is. This also provide us with a changed perspective of what is salvageable when looking at wrecks. Keep in mind I haven’t done any of this kind of work. It’s a great vid. Thanks for sharing.
Just nice. Great that you getting it back together. 😢
Morning Karl & Brent, we the "you tube world" are watching two metal masters at work, I hope the people watching really understand the task at hand(we do), you can have all the fancy equipment, but you need to know how to use them....these two metal masters definitely do!!!
Thanks, Michael! You’re definitely right about that! Tools don’t do the work alone haha
Looking really good, the both of you professors melt bender doing outstanding job on the couple
Nice!! Really looking forward to the rebirth of this car!! I loved the different perspective from Brent's video. Thank you for posting!!!
Thanks for helping brent!
Wooden block, hammer and port a power works so well for removing all types of damage. Nice work!
I was following your program everyday especially to see the car and then you dissapeared and i found what happened and im sorry to hear you lost your warehouse i wish you the best im glad you have come back, i missed your program keep up the good work.
You guys are awesome! Don't worry Brent for being called Bret, if it makes you feel better I get called Brent instead of Bret many times .I'm sure you are used to it as I.Glad to see firework .I've often wondered if there is no salvage on a fire car or truck not knowing what the heat has done. I've seen many and have stayed away ,now I know it's possible. Thanks for your share of knowledge! It's like we owe you now! Thanks again!!!!
You are a good man and great friend. I pray that God continues to bless you as your talents grow. Great video and terrific music as always.
Blimey poor old things been through the wars such bad luck , nice to see you doing some metal work on it and giving it some love , I know one thing if you can’t sort it then it’s history . That portapower was a nice piece of kit very impressive nice work guys 👍
Awesome. Don’t know what Brent’s plans for the car are but it would be very cool to straighten it as much as possible then just leave it as is. Show all the scars and burns and everything. Would be a truly unique testament to an incredible story!
This is awesome. That machine hammer thing is badass!
I think that when Brent gets all done building the coupe (the Phoenix), it needs a dark paint job with a wild flame job on it. Just because it's a survivor of the shop fire.
This is an amazing video. Watching the metal move as you apply force to different locations is cool to see!!!
Teamwork makes dream work
Actually looked a lot worse than first thought ..came out a lot easier than I thought it would . That planishing hammer is amazing you can actually see on the fast forward the dents being smoothed out nicely . Nice one guys
Outstanding teamwork Great job! 🤙 🇺🇸
Koodo’s to you for making the trip helping. A Bud we need more of that great watch 👍👋🇨🇦
Awesome to see it will resurrected I hope you working together as a team can make it better than it was good luck Bill Queensland Australia 🇦🇺
Hey Karl, watching this work from your point of view is just as much fun the second time. I love to watch you and Brent working together on a project vehicle. Friendship is a powerful thing. Together you bend steel with your hands (and a few tools) to reverse the damage from the fire. Frankly I didn't know if it could be repaired, but you made a believer of me. Thanks and we'll see you next time.
I survived a trailer fire, but mine was in worse shape 😢. But- I didn’t have to rebuild!😂. Great stuff you are doing, in many ways….. you are good buddy to have.😊
I knew there was a way to repair fire damage. People always walk away from these. Yes I know it's a ton of work, but that's the only way I could afford it...... and with the proper skills it can be brought back as long as it still holds shape well.
Brent build it brother!!!!!! Build that SOB back 10 million times better then it was when you first started working on it. Don’t let that fire win Sir !!!!!
You guys did incredible work. Kudos to you, Karl, for making the trek to Brent’s. But I have to ask- what are your plans with the Merc? Don’t leave us hanging too long to find out!
Acompanho esses dois grandes mestres ,parabéns e sempre videos educativos.
Clyde Do Something intro music at 41:00, lol. Nice of you to help Brent out with that.
Thanks for helping Bret🫰♥️🙏
the planishing hammer in Karl's hands sure does wonders 👍
Great watching the two of you, trading the hammer back and forth like you have worked together for years!
I like seeing someone who is unafraid to use the BFH.
In absolute awe of your skills, mate...
...some great editing! Explain the logic behind the decision is brilliant for an observer. Karl needs to thank his parents for teaching him to think (it's a taught behaviour).
Awesome work Karl! I'm sure your visit helped to repair Brent's heart immensely. Great to see mates helping mates in a time of need. Well done. Watching from Queensland, Australia.
I like restoration shows but what caught my eye in 1/2 second was your Dog, love the shop 🐕 doggy
Thank you he look a bit more happyer it's good to have mates to help out Brent was really down for some time good to see you go and help him much kodos to you
Autobody repair using logs and maybe even rocks ? I LOVE it !!
You can thank Brett or I mean Brent for me adding you to my substrictions. Also heard about you from DD's customs. Love what they do and looking forward to checking out your channel
it's interesting watching both Half Ass Kustoms video and then watching yours. It gives a much more complete view of everything you guys did!
Definitely! We both are seeing different things and addressing different problems
Coming soon to a theater near you! Karl & Brent in: "The PLANISHERS!"
Never say die! Great work!
So glad to see you treck to Brent's with this old Dodge and a fellow tuber in need. Car guys are the best👍💯 Thanks for sharing 🗿🔥
