Grandpa Amu spent 90 days to make a wooden fire truck for his grandson. The mortise and tenon structure is made of safflower pear wood. This car, from the chassis to the front, the interior to the carriage, is a component of every step. They are assembled with many small parts, each small part is finely polished, and the final product is completed.

It is difficult to comprehend what I just watched. The some of the techniques employed are challenging with machine tools… and to do it with so many intricate parts and detail precise enough to assemble it without adhesives or fasteners? Grandpa made leaf spring suspension and working steering out of wood!…. By hand! If I were to successfully carve just one of the fire extinguishers or shovels, I would feel like I had created a masterpiece, but for Grandpa…it’s just an accessory! I am in awe. He has “won” woodworking.

Grandpa is the most amazing builder I have ever seen!!! His work is outstanding! I love watching him and how precise he is with every little piece. He should win an award for his work. I am a car model collector and I know the scale models made with details or whatnot. Grandpa Amu really meticulously did a great job in building a scale model that actually has all the details like its metal counterparts. Big respect Grandpa Amu.😎 You're cool.

if you offered a kid this wood toy OR a cheap plastic fire engine that is colorful, he would pick the plastic one every time... sure its wholesome to build this but you must understand your target audience
Well, don't give him the choice then. He'll have as much fun with this one. It's way more sturdy and if something breaks grandpa can just fix it. And when he grows up it can become a great ornament and memory of grandpa.
I mean, there is tools that i've never seen being used in wood and it he make it looks easy, but i am sure that this required YEARS of experience and research to be able to make it by hands... Just impressive.
@@Kiyoone takes a lot of time and a lot of skill and work, but its not worth it. A machine can produce a superior product that the child will prefer, and at a fraction of the cost, and time. This is wholesome crap that makes you feel good but has no place in the modern world.

Thanks for telling us the type of wood you use - I know a lot of people have asked. It would be great if you could make a question-and-answer video, answering questions your fans ask. We could turn on subtitles to read the answers in our own languages. I'd like to ask if you have always been a woodworker by profession, or if you taught yourself later in life? My dad always built things, but when he retired, he taught himself to build furniture and toys, like your truck, although with nowhere near the detail of yours. 🙂
