Just like the Joker said they’ll treat him like a leper. Yet despite all of that Batman has finally given Gotham the symbol of hope that it needs to fight back against the darkness. Logically and morally, they should destroy other ship, because there is no way to save other ship (either they destroy it or Joker will). By destroying other ship, at least they are saving everyone on their ship. End scene: Is there a real evidence that Harvey Dent/Two-Face killed 5 people? If yes, then Batman's sacrifice is unnecessary. If no, then Batman's sacrifice is, again, unnecessary, because they can just say unknown person killed Dent and 5 other people, since there is no evidence.

      @goranmilic442@goranmilic442 Жыл бұрын
    • @@goranmilic442 that’s the whole point of the boat scene. They are tempted with that logic just so that the joker can prove that people will do horrible things when backed into a corner. By having neither boat press the button it showed that the people of Gotham would rather die than knowingly take the lives of the others on the boat, proving the joker wrong. As far Harvey, he had a ton of important legislation tied to his name & if his reputation was ruined, the support & use of that legislation would be discredited, undoing all of the progress Gotham had made. There was enough proof to tie the murders to Harvey considering he had been all over the city and committed a lot of the murders in broad day without trying to hide, & he had living witnesses (Ramirez at the very least, if not more). Not to mention most people would wonder why Gordon & his entire family were at the scene of Harvey’s murder. Batman taking the fall made the most sense because Batman is just a moniker, Bruce still gets off scot free so no actual person is taking the blame for something Harvey did while also protecting the good things that would be undone if the truth came out.

Just like Joker said, they’ll treat him as a leper. Despite all that, Batman was willing to go through with it to give Gotham a symbol of hope. Because he can take it. He’s a silent guardian. Few men makes him the most strongest, most righteous, an incorruptable and a good greatest human being ever, Man lost his parents as a child, lost his only childhood friend and love whom he loved she loved someone else, betrayed by love, he lost all his money, his wealth, his reputation everything in order to help other people, to bring justice in society, saved city and its entire population and despite all that he dont want any credit for it, who does like this in this world ? very few indeed. Good men like Bruce/Batman are indeed in this real world but are very rare. Men like him thinks and feel empathy for others more then themselves. Batman is not just a character for me its a philosophy, the life lessons for we humans, Be good and have empathy for others, never give up in life no matter how dark life, broken we're, we must rise up, have will, hope and always support justice and goodness in society. I've been always saying and will say again Nolan's Batman trilogy is the greatest trilogy in cinematic history, it was not just a trilogy but life lessons.

  • Its been over a decade since I sat in a full IMAX theater the second day aftet the initial opening and next to the last screening of the day. There had been cheering and other comments throughout the showing but during this segment the audience was quite as a tomb. I looked left and right and every face was fixed on the screen listening intently to Gary Oldman gave the ending epilogue. And right when the ending title came on the screen there was a moment of silence and then the theatre erupted in an exuberant standing ovation and applause. I am grateful to the audeince that night because they adding to the experience of what has become the quintessential film of the graphic novels I read throughout hogh school and college.... The Dark Knight. As we left the theater we spoke to the last audience and couldn't and some cases wouldn't express how exceptional a theatrical performance we had watched. I think I told a guy who seemed in my age group and said.... "Did you see Star Wars A New Hope when it opened?" He replied he had and asked "Is it that good?" I said "No, it's better".
