    • just put it on for the Beyonce one. you give her way too much credit. you mentioned where the dance came from but you say it's based. it's pretty much the same thing but the way you would expect a slutty version of an old women dance would be done. Beyonce is one of the most overrated talents in the industry. i don't hate her or anything. i think she is pretty and does have talent but wow she is overrated.

  • I am a dance teacher. Michael Jackson changed the history of dance, non only the music one, and it's unbelievable if we think he wasn't a dancer, but a singer. Paula Abdul was a good dancer, Madonna sometimes (a long time ago), some others not bad, but Jackson was a genius and after him ALL modern dance changed definitely.

I remember the news reports of her collapsing or passing out and having to cancel shows. Anyone who I knew who went to see her said that her show was more than worth every since penny. The Jackson children were trained from the moment they took their first breaths to perform. It's a part of their DNA.

  • CHOREOGRAPHERS- i.e. the whole reason you even have a list of great choreography in the first place - 10 > Feist = NOEMIE LAFRANCE 9 > Sia = RYAN HEFFINGTON 8 > Britney " Oops" = TINA LANDON ( who was also Janet's choreographer and dancer for awhile) Britney = Slave video= MAYTE GARCIA (Prince's ex wife ) 7 > Lady Gaga = LAURIE ANN GIBSON 6 > Missy = NADINE RUFFIN 5 > MC Hammer = (couldn't find a name so it might have been himself as he was originally a dancer) 4 > Backstreet Boys = FATIMA ROBINSON ( VERY well known choreographer, look her up. She also did MJ's "Remember the Time, Sade's "Soldier of Love" , Aaliyah's "Are you that Somebody" and the movie "Dreamgirls") 3 > Beyonce = Amazing that you mentioned the choreographer here, yes he is FRANK GATSON JR. and you mentioned that the video was "modeled after" another video. What you left out was that the video is was nearly 100% copied from after was of jazz dance legend Gwen Verdon performing choreography by her husband jazz dance legend BOB FOSSE. Look up a video called "Mexican Breakfast" . You might be alarmed to see just how much of the original choreography was left in "Single Ladies". There is nothing wrong with being inspired by someone else, but give credit where it's due. (also, Bey's "Get Me Bodied" video was strongly inspired by BOB FOSSE's dances from his movie "Sweet Charity" . ) 2 > Janet = ANTHONY THOMAS 1 > Michael Jackson = MICHAEL PETERS ( There is a very cool video onhere somewhere of Peters teaching MJ the choreography in the studio) ( Also, FYI- Bey is not the only one influenced by jazz dance legend BOB FOSSE. Look up a video called "Snake in the Grass". it's Fosse dancing his own style of jazz movement and you will be SHOCKED to see that this is where MJ got his "signature style" from. Even down to the hat and high water pants showing his socks. ) That is today's lesson! lol. Respect to CHOREOGRAPHERS!!! Thank you.

  • Elastic heart sequence with Shia LaBeouf and Maddie Zeigler is my favorite of all time. It was so raw, so real, it made me think of many human exchanges that take time to enjoy love into a relationship. I saw it not in a sexual way as many criticized it for being but instead like a father daughter or mother son or parent child relationships. I felt some of the exact emotions when trying to stay close to my teenage daughter. It was so vivid and then some feelings of trying to reach my drug addicted oldest son, when he was at his worst before he passed away. I cried for a long time after viewing this for the first time as it was an outlet for held in emotions to escape. It was moving, real, and graphic in nature. The pale pallet let the emotions pull through. We were not told how to relate to the sequence but allowed to feel how we wanted to feel. Brilliant, number one in my book.

  • I completely agree with this list!!! I love P!nk so much and although I wouldn't call the video "iconic" one of the most amazing dance videos I've ever seen is her "Walk Me Home." I realize it has a lot to do with special effects but it's still fantastic!

  • EXACTLY!!!! Michael & Janet should have had the entire list - and maybe Aaliyah: Ghosts, Smooth Criminal, Remember the Time, Thriller, Rhythm Nation, Beat It, If, Bad, Blood on the Dance Floor, Pleasure Principle, and honorable mention: Aaliyah's Try Again. I mean - come on!!!! And BTW Ms. Mojo - that's just one family, and doesn't even account for everything they've contributed. How about Janet's Together Again, or her Alright? Let's not forget her Doesn't Really Matter??? Or her The Knowledge??? How about Michael's The Way You Make Me Feel, Black or White, They Don't Really Care About Us or You Rock My World???? To top it ALL off: the 2 of them got together & made SCREAM, which beats the choreography of 8 of the choices here (all except Rhythm Nation & Thriller, which, opps - is also by them!!!) MsMojo: BYE! MOONWALKERS - I see you in the comments - way to represent for Michael - keep Moonwalking!!!
