Everything Wrong With Captain America: Civil War
Captain America finally gets his own Avengers movie. Wait... I mean... The Avengers finally show up to help out in one of their members' solo films. Wait... Spider-Man finally doesn't suck in a film about not-Spider-Man... wait...
Here are the sins we found in Captain America: Civil War, a movie we didn't love, but didn't hate, and actually mostly enjoyed.
Remember, no movie is without sin! Which movie's sins should we expose next?!

I miss that meme

I’ll be Bucky Sorry King but if a guy in a car suit is chasing me and trying to kill me I wouldn’t stand here and be like “ahh sunlight”
I was hoping for a "Spiderman would be excellent at cinemasins" for "That shield does not obey the laws of physics AT ALL!"
Or Bucky's: "You couldn't have done that earlier?"
I was hoping for a "Steve just met Spider-Man, and still doesn't know anything about how strong Peter actually is, but still he just tried to kill a 15 year old kid dropping that thing on him anyway", when he dropped that plane thing on him
IKR!
Angus the Skeleton bn
I'm pretty sure in the comics they explain that the reason he can stick to things through his gloves and shoes is because the power works because he can the manipulate electrostatic force on his hands and feat on a molecular level. Not to mention his super strength in his fingers alone is pretty insane.
Cap: So what's that suit made of? T'challa: You ever heard the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the wise?
A for effort
IM WHEEZING
Finally positive replies
Is it possible to learn this power?
Spider-man : "that shield doesn't obey the laws of phisycs at all" Spider-man would be excelent in Cinema Sins
I don't know what you edited but you should check again
He’d be excellent in anything.

I love Peter’s reaction to Giant-man, Scott is suddenly a giant “Holy Shit!” such a kid reaction, so perfect and his childlike enthusiasm throughout the fight is so great.
It is, he's clearly geeking out but trying to fight the whole time.
Actually I think a real kid reaction would be sh%ting their pants.
SpongeBob SquarePants I think that yes if I were a kid yes I would be startled if there was suddenly a giant dude in front of me but given that “shitting your pants” is more of a fear response than a response to being startled I’m not sure that would happen in this situation. My main point of my initial comment though was that I found Peter’s response to the situation adorable and the perfect response for a 14 year old superhero in a situation that he’s never been in, as were all of his responses and comments throughout the whole airport scene.
It's more a general "real person" reaction than childlike. Like how a fan of the MCU would react in that situation.
@@nthgth Maybe, but like I said in the other reply my main point is that I found Peter’s joyful reactions adorable
“Analyze his fight patterns” First block blind jab, then discombobulate
Hahahahaha fuck. Ah damn it
Clever.
LMAO SO TRUE HAHA
I know Thor isn't in this movie but who would have paid money to see a scene where that government guy tries to tell Thor that he has to sign a contract and only deal with things that they tell him to go deal with
Lol
in the comics iron man told thor that, and thor handed him his ass and pretty much said "next time I wont hold back" and they left him alone
I'd be more frightened about Hulk's reaction (Big green I mean, not human)
thor owns hulk (comic version of thor, movie thor is so weak)
Mathew McNamara I know, but Thor is also a rationally minded person, full Hulk probably wouldn't take threats well
To be fair, 70 years ago was about 5 years ago in Steve's head
Damn thats sharp
and 5 hours in Scott's head
Simon der Weduwen Ok
MystKT More like 70 hours
To be fair, they are talking about a redhead.
9:17 - missed opportunity to ask, "Wakanda exposition is this?" *ding*
I’m sinning you for that
how is that a sin? its literally just character development and why is exposition inherently bad
Doesn’t Ross like, have no power of Thor considering he’s teaching an alien and a god???
And Vision isn't even human!
Wanda isn't American. Not sure Nat is, either. Then again, Ross is in a kind of an unfortunate position to argue about innocent lives endangered, quite apart from the ones they saved by stopping Crossbones, given HER SENT FUCKING TANKS THROUGH A COLLEGE CAMPUS TO CATCH BANNER. Sorry, thought that was important.
@@bobbyfeet2240 The explanation Tony used was Wanda wasn’t a citizen(not just American in general) but I’m pretty sure Natasha is seeing as if she’s been in America for how long working with SHEILD. Wanda was just brought on over from Sokovia
Remember: Enhanced humans are a threat. So, let the politics make them out into the bad guys.
@@Boss-cj6zn Tony Stark just took both hands off the steering wheel and hoped Big Brother Government would fix all of his problems not knowing that when the world is in danger all over again, one of the first things they're going to do is call Tony Stark.
Lol, I swear he gets more cynical as he sins more superhero stuff
You can almost feel him look tenderly at the rope hanging from his ceiling.
"Not today old friend"
you can almost hear him learning how bad the writing is in these movies
Who wouldnt.
I found this video to not be all that cynical. He definitely seemed in a better mood than he was when sinning Winter Soldier and Dawn of Justice.
One sin to add: Secretary Ross upbraids the Avengers for causing collateral damage. This is the same man who deliberately unleashed *The Abomination* on Harlem, resulting in a battle with the Hulk which could have been prevented, but ended up doing millions in property damage, not to mention resulting in multiple injuries and deaths.
But expect no one to remember that, for plot reasons.
Soo... he, in no way, could have learned his lesson? Maybe he agrees that he was wrong in doing so, which is why he wanted to accords? I mean, Tony made Ultron and he wants it.
This is supposed to be covered by the business where Ross has a heart attack and changes his mind about everything; that's supposed to, in turn, allude to Tony doing the same... but I agree, it doesn't work.
Hi, I am Hi. It's bad writing. He was an asshole and was never called up on his bullshit, yet the developers have him judge the Avengers for plot purposes. He was responsible for millions in terms of damage and thousands of deaths and serious injuries, and got away with it without so much as a slap on the wrist. What he did was worse than the Avengers ever did, yet they are the ones that are punished. What the hell.
BigBlueRed 26 I don't remember the Hulk so much but did the authority/public find out about what he did?? Anyways he is covered by the government. Anything he does is pretty much the responsibility of the government he works for. Which is what the accords is about. Its like the police for a government, the government is responsible for the police force. Which is why what the avengers did was 'wrong' because they didnt have a government body behind them.
14:05 “Paul Rudd is such a goddamn national treasure and a welcome bit of levity in this movie that I’m removing a sin for his awesomeness” Quality content right there
10:19 - Bucky had already been tested on and gotten the super soldier serum BEFORE he fell off the train. That's why he was able to survive. Since the serum had been 100% effective in him (unlike in Red Skull, where things went slightly wrong), I assume Zola would want to retrieve the one person that the serum worked on. Bucky was obviously a very valuable asset to them at that point. It would make even less sense to just leave him there.
the problem with all that is. they capure Zola that very day, the convince him to join their side, even tho he was secretly hydra, sure. but, why would they let him go back to look for bucky and all that, how long did that take? how long was bucky laying on the snow WITHOUT AN ARM???
So we had two Spiders, an Ant, a Panther, a Falcon and a Hawk. A zoo.
Carlton Rudd idiot
2 spiders?
The name "Black Widow" comes from the spider Latrodectus, commonly known as Widow Spider.
we just needed Matt Damon to show up so that he and Scarlett could buy said zoo
I kinda want to visit the zoo with the ant exhibit. I've never seen one 😂
"We now take you to Vision and Scarlet Witch, the MOST powerful characters in this movie... flirting over some goddamn soup." *cut to WandaVision*
As fun as the airport scene was it does make you wonder why Wanda didn't just use her mind manipulation powers on everyone to stop them attacking or subdue them till the others got on the jet. She'd already established in Age of Ultron that she had the power to effortlessly control half of Sakovia to evacuate them.
because that is rude
I'm pretty sure Wanda can't manipulate it if its not already there like amplifying Tony's paranoia or Hulk's rage. She might be able to distract them but she can't just make strong willed superheroes suddenly want to give up fighting. Not to mention Vision wouldn't let her wreck havoc.
Because action lmao
I’ve always wondered this about her. I justified it as she can only do small batch mind control lol like generally one target at a time, but the Sokovia battle already disproves that. The real reason is there wouldn’t be much conflict if she did that. But for story reasons there doesn’t seem to be a good one.
Well, the people of Sokovia are normal human beings who didn't even have their guards up. The Avengers, in their first encounter with the Maximoffs, didn't have their guards up either. Here, they know what she can do, they're not going to take her lightly. And Vision is there to counter her mind warping powers.
Sin: as soon as Peggy dies cap hits on her niece
Shudders. That certainly twisted my face when they kissed. In my head, I was sounding like Clevland before they did. I was like, "No, no, no, No, NO, NOO!"
lol ikr. Im amazed he didn't mention how gross that is XD
Actually, Sharon was his neighbor in The Winter Soldier and sent by Fury to protect Captain America. So, he was actually hitting on her before this movie. He only found out now that she was related to Peggy. And in all honesty, what else could they do, they can't have Steve getting it on with Peggy since she was old and dying
Nope. I recalled that too, even took it into to some serious consideration. My final thought: no. Once that he's found out she was his dead girlfriend'so niece, that's when she should have become off limits. It's just respect. It's like if he found out she was his cousin, or sister after. Does he still go for it 'cause they were already flirting before he knew??
Well,they could...you know...making him stay single or...pfftt...I don't know...HITTING ON SOMEONE ELSE???Like...ANYONE ELSE???
You forgot to add a sin: Aunt May is not my girlfriend in this scene.
Alotta Uncle Bens taken the Aunt May ride. Sloppy hundredths.
LOL imagine if Tony Stark became Peter Parker's uncle in the MCU?. Then again who wouldn't want a "genius billionaire playboy philanthropist" for an uncle.
also scene does not contain a lap dance
+Tim the Enchanter her nephew is in the room with him making a lapdance pretty awkward. He only does the lapdance sin thing when you could have one there and it wouldn't be weird.

“Just like my mom said: it’s all fun and games until someone gets knocked out of the sky by an infinity stone and breaks their back” 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 for some reason that was funny today
You didn't mention how Ross told the Avengers that they caused New York's disaster, but it was actually the goverment who fired the nuclear head to New York.
To be fair as evidenced in Winter Soldier Shield was Hydra all along. Since Avengers took place before that it was probably Hydra that gave the go signal.
Domihork Jeremy doesn't even mention how Ross had a hand in creating the Hulk & Abomination, who ended up tearing up Harlem. This is one of the reasons why I thought the Sokovia Accords were bullshit.
The world security council is separate from SHIELD. As we saw in Winter Soldier, they really weren't part of HYDRA, and then Agent's of Shield season 3, when one of them turned out to be an ally of Coulson's. It was the world security council's decision to fire a missile. Unless Hydra was somehow behind the World Security Council, but since Redford's character(his name escapes me at the moment), had to try and convince them(then threaten them) to align with Hydra, I doubt it.
Why was Powers Booth (Who in which was one of the original council members from the first Avengers movie.) replaced? And why does Marvel and DC keep to swap out Actors back and forth, between Comic Franchises?
@ Alexander Kieler : Even though Ross had a hand in it, the guy who became the Abomination was out of control, and it was *his* decision to do that to himself. Which unfortunately absolves Ross from the most if not all the blame.
You forgot a sin. The government is upset about the avengers apparently being "indifferent to civilians casualties" but they're the ones who launched a fucking nuke at New York
And let's not forget that the guy who talks with Avengers about accords is the same guy who created Abomination in "Incredible Hulk". What a bunch of hypocrites.
Ross is something of a hypocrite, he was never meant to be a morally defining character. Also the ones who launched the nuke was the World Security Council, an agency of their own, not the entire government. The Accords however, are actually supported by the UN themselves.
it wasn't the governments, to be fair. It was SHIELD and SHIELD also operated pretty much ignoring national borders and authorities for the most part.
ramjb at that time SH E I LD was following under government supervision
and we're supposed to assume SHIELD was reporting everything to governments, huh?. that's why they had a multinational world council to begin with? ;). Come on.
Ok so the answer to the question at 10:30 is actually because before Bucky was saved by Captain America in Captain America: The First Avenger, Arnim Zola actually experimented on him. This is how he was actually able to survive the fall from the train. Zola wanted him back to finish his expiriments, which included turning him into a super soldier (the Winter Soldier). That is why Zola wanted him back so badly, because it was his work that he wanted to complete.
T’challa survived because he was the black panther, using that heart-shaped herb
A sin should be when vision shoots down war machine. He intended to hit falcon but hits rhoady. So if the beam can do that to the armor what did he think it would do for falcon? Tickle him?
Falcon still had wings to glide on, and a safety parachute. Rhodey literally says: "Target is thruster, turn him into a glider." What I would sin though is how Vision was in such a perfect angle to hit Rhodey after Falcon dodged. I mean what are the chances?
Is it an implied that Wanda is some help making him more human
Agent Carter die, panther dad die, The avengers died, and lots of innocent people die in the bombing
yes but Falcon has a parachute, as was shown in Winter Soldier

Bloodwrath 112 lol
No he wasn't, the people arresting Bucky have ''Polizei'' written across their backs. That's the german word for police. The movie makes literally no sense at all at that point.
Bruder Jakob It does if you pay attention. Bucky WAS arrested in Bucharest by german forces. This is because the nearest Task-Force office is in Berlin, which dispatched special forces to Bucharest to locate and eliminate Bucky.
German police doesn't have jurisdiction in Romania, though. They'd have to go through Europol and ask Romanian police to arrest him.

Cap can figure out the geometry of that shot because of the serum. It enhanced his mind to the point where he was practically a genius and he was able to calculate how the shield would bounce when he threw it
Also cap knows the name of the redhead because post-serum, his memory was perfect which is why he was the superior soldier because he could very quickly learn and master any fighting style

Also, when Ant-Man freaks out about Vision flying through him. lol

Also add another sin for him calling Hawkeye "arrow guy", since he rode with Clint to the airport. I'm sure Clint didn't introduce himself as "arrow guy".

The relationship between Steve and Sharon gets a lot weirder after endgame. By who’s logic Steve was/is her uncle, now while he wouldn’t know that yet she most certainly would.
I paused right at 3:28 when Vision just finishes phasing through the wall and I've never seen such a perfect freeze frame. Rhetoric question, I guess.
I think it's because they don't won't to try and bring up the (you know what) that happened since his character dose revolve around that.
Alberto Mora a not sure what you mean?
That makes no sense. The German habit of changing film titles into something else without even translating it to German, annoys me to no end. The movie is still about Captain America. What does leaving him out of the title accomplish? Are there really Germans who are tricked into buying a ticket for "The First Avenger" and then realize "Aww fuck, it's about Captain America. I hate that guy." *rant
Rewatching this after watching falcon and winter soldier. Zemo is the joker planning very far ahead
The reason why Cap seems to make ridiculous throws with his shield and having it come back to him is explained in the comics. He's able to calculate the amount of force, the angle, and other factors in a split second because of the SSS
No sins off for the beautiful shot of Captain America blocking Iron Man's blast near the end? That's one of the most iconic comic panels for Marvel!

Asa Holmes Well the narrator was referencing Ryan Lochte when he spoke of the avengers basically ignoring sovereign borders. Ryan Lochte was a an olympic athlete during the 2016 games that started trouble in Rio by violating some laws then lying about it on national television. So in turn just as the Avengers did, Ryan Lochte was ignorant of an damage he caused. He references it because it went viral on the news for a couple weeks.
Simple thanks Ken!

"Captain America: Civil War" suits it better since the plot line of Steve and Bucky's struggle continues, wrapping up what was started with the other Captain America films into a complete trilogy, while the Avengers movies are focused on particular villains (Loki, Ultron, Thanos) that the Avengers team up against to thwart their goals.

Jacky hold it didn't black widow leak all of the hidras files? That means that he didn't even have to go through all that shit to get mission report 1991
Eli Lybarger But the movie would end in 5 minutes because shield, an inhuman, agent Coulson and Robin Scherbatske. (The name is still very hard to spell correctly)
Jacky..I liked the " Action Jackson" reference.
Cap: So what's that suit made of? Challa: Once unpon a time...
14:35 what's so war about that civil anyways?" -> 🔫🔫🌹🌹
Sin counter will not be happy
:(
Tyqa_ Also sin counter now has a concious. +1 sin
73 :( Movie Sin Counter
Sin 78 - Since we're talking about the MCU, you should know that Tony in the MCU is paranoid about security. Hell, he even built Ultron to that end in the MCU didn't he? So its not far off to consider that he might be keeping tabs on other meta humans as well. Plus, he is one of the smartest minds in the Marvel Universe, I don't think it'll take him so long to figure out who Spidey is.
Exactly, Tony's characterization and MCU's world-building are enough to justify him knowing Spidey's identity.
Just like its not far off to consider that Lex Luthor, the guy who owns a multi billion dollar corporation and is a genius might be keeping tabs on meta humans as well? or would he never look into who Superman might be and never want to know who the Bat vigilante is? lol
Can we not use the term meta-humans, though? Sorry, it just reminds me of a terrible movie which a theme similar to the far superior Civil War.
Considering everyone said it was stupid of Lex to have information on the Leaguers. He was able to find the Flash on a gas station security camera, a camera at star labs featuring Cyborg (which is possibly a division of Lexcorp), and an underwater camera picking up Aquaman which would also be explained by the camera possibly being owned by Lexcorp. Why is it okay for Marvel to do it, but not DC?
actually antman anf richard reeds are the smartest in marvel universe. ant man created vision.
I feel like Disney made Sharon a villain just to spite mat pat
This movie has so many plot holes!! But damn! It was so good! I also hate how that Wanda has so much POWER but she barely uses them ever!
Yes, only when she feels extrem emotional pain and rage. She is like Wonder Woman in the first movie.
Hawkeye teamed up with Cap because he has a hidden family and in the comics registering his powers and home would have forced him to reveal it.
And Stan Lee is in every Marvel movie
The IronSpaceMarine, he was being sarcastic about that one...
So.... why not stay hidden? They aren't forcing you to sign. If you don't sign, you retire; he already retired.
That family wasn't so hidden after Age of Ultron. And he was retired. He wouldn't have had to register. The reason why he joined Cap was to pay his debts to Scarlet Witch after her brother died protecting him.
AbuOsama29 That just meant he would rescue her from the compound, not join Cap's crusade that he had zero stakes in.
I don't think the accords were a part of Zemo's plan, they just happened to take place during his revenge and he took advantage of them. If there weren't any accords than we would have framed Bucky for some other crime. Also he couldn't just mail the tape to Tony because the only copy was in the Hydra base.
And he only framed Bucky because the guy he got the book from refused to tell him what he wanted, so framing Bucky was his plan B.
Exactly. During the Hydra interogation, Zemo says roughly, "If you don't tell me, I'll have to use other, bloodier methods to get the information." He was after the location of the tape & other soldiers. The Accords were simply the opportunity for him to start acting, as by their very nature they'll create additional tension in the team, making his job even easier.
he could of just went to the hydra base and either taken the tape, or recode it on his own on his cellphone or a camera or sent threats to tony to the point that he can lead Tony to the Hydra base and played the tape to him. Tony will still be angy with cap and would still want to find bucky while cap would also want to stop Tony from killing bucky. Then commit suicide
That is a good explanation, but then how do you explain him planning to infiltrate the 'shield/UN' holding facility? He planned to get in there and turn Bucky into the mind controlled soldier, so its okay that he 'used the accords to his advantage', but he planned to do things that required the accord to happen first.
Honestly, Zemos plan worked because Tony and Steve just don't like each other. if Zemo did his plan during age of ultron, it would have worked cause Steve and Tony actually fought for a little bit in that movie.
"So, is this getting serious? If so, what's that bedroom going to look like?" Well, now you can watch Episode 2 of WandaVision and find out :P
17:07 ha hahahahahah lmao 😂
I love the fact that they consider Paul Rudd a national treasure.
Box Fox i do
I used to think I couldn't STAND Rudd though.
Box Fox all Pauls are national treasures
Paul Majano especially Paul blart
making ultra realistic masks is nothing in agents of shield. but since no one but me watches agents of shield you would not know that
AoS used to be one of my favorite shows on Netflix! Haven't watched in a while, but I really liked some of the characters like Sky (and Coulson obviously + the cavalry)
Rikin Patel Black Widow had one of those masks in Winter Soldier, so it's also nothing in the movies.
AoS is the only show I watch from any of the old broadcast networks. (ABC, CBS, NBC)
The Bastard, KZhead Villain all of those channels are still running well
yeah with government resources and ultra-high tech. How would Zemo make one?
This is the funniest one I've seen so far. Where did you come from, dude?! And why haven't you taken your show on the road? 😂😂😂😂
"I can't wait to decorate my bed stuy brownstone with french coffee shop posters and my 3 bicycles." At that moment I lost it. 😂
I love Bucky's reaction when Spiderman caught his metal arm so casually lamo.
Bucky :/
The reason Bucky was special was that they'd already done a bunch of experiments on him at the other HYDRA facility. He was already close to being a Winter Soldier, they just needed to add the mind control.
My friend: “Cinema Wins are better than Cinema Sins” Me: “Ding!”
I like how this video was suggested to me as an ad
Same
Don't forget Hawkeye has a better golf score than Tiger Woods, he should've quit the avengers and gone on tour.
Go get himself a Masters jacket. Something like that.
Better than Happy Gilmore
Although, at this point, with Tiger having all those injuries, a lot of people on tour have better scores than Tiger. Like today, Tiger ended up in like 14th
You should've removed a sin for "Tony Stank".
SuperStriker7US Team Name:The Last Bosses if he did all the team cap extremist would spiral in the comment section yikes
and for natasha romanoff
@@racheldosentcare736 dude, what? How does that make sense at all?

I love the fact that you mentioned Papa Doc in your sin💜 for this movie; that callback to Action Jackson GAVE ME LIFE!!!
i fucking lost it at "wash that evil right out of his hair"
That was indeed hilarious.
yeah, like wtf was that
I think the main reason why the water stopped where it did instead of going higher was because the actor probably wasn't comfortable with nearly downing. The actor is still a person and being held upside down while water rushes into your nose is an awful experience that would make it extremely uncomfortable and hard to act with. I personally think they should have found another way to do that scene, but that's what we got.
Same LOL
I personally thought that he missed two redeeming moments during the Airport battle scene: first, when Spiderman pointed out that Cap's shield does not obey the laws of Physics... And when Bucky asked Falcon why he didn't dispatch Spiderman sooner...
Truth!
Any instance of Spider-Man being lovable innocent Peter Parker from queens is a win
Absolute trash
Also that shot of Iron Man and Cap at a standstill. I don’t care how manufactured it is, that shot was beautiful
