I'm more impressed with making it look old and abandoned then I am with the restoration.

Yes “weathering” is a very valuable skill to have as a modeler. It adds a whole new dimension to your vehicles and layouts.
@@rpres5228 oh shut it. No one asked for you to correct them
@@andrewsmith4626 I did
Because it's fake
It turned out nice. But I think it looked really bad ass before the restoration. Like a mad max truck.
About all scale cars and trucks look brandnew, so this one had a cool weathered look to it like mad max, so he should have left this one as it was.
Btw, i don't understand that there's not a toy company who makes scale models from the cars and trucks from the mad max movies because they would sell like hotcakes.
📝
I thought the same! I thought it was meant to look like that!
i wouldve added whole lot of customizable stuff like bumpers and spikes on this ..... dont know who abandon model like these that cost like over $200
The old one looks more realistic. It should have kept that way. Amazing.
I agree with you. Maybe just clean it up a little and spray it with some kind of clear coat. Keep it looking like it should.
I agree
Don’t be an idiot dude. It needed the full restoration.
@@devinb5937 No lol
@@devinb5937 triggered 😂
It kinda looked better before restoration. As everyone else has said here, it looked like a mad max type of truck. And I'd have to agree.

Dual!! 😁
I agree - the unrestored truck had more character I thought.

Was gonna comment the same thing. Thumbs up this one instead.
The restoration work was great. But whoever made that Kenworth replica, is an artist!! I've never seen something so detailed and well made.

You’re right Joe … American trucks do have a unique look to them. Its a reflection of wide open spaces and endless horizions that is America itself.I drive trucks here in Western Canada 🇨🇦.God Bless both countries.
I'm reading the caption of this video and can't help but wonder, who would abandon this magnificent work of art? Even without restoration I would still treasure it😂
He does it for views
He gets them dirty and says he found it like that
You know For a Giant he's very careful while dismantling and renovating an old truck like that, that's gotta take a lot of practice to be so gentle given his massive strength already
I would've painted your logo on the trailer! That would've been cool.
Asombrosa restauracion por usted lograda en este camión semirremolque abandonado Kenworth T600, excelente resultado, respetos desde Venezuela.💯👍🤘🤜🔥🤛💯💯

Who makes these models ? This looks like my old truck.. Monfort...SBI
Amazing! Wow! Next video you might want to insert titles of what the cleaning solutions are you are using, and why. Thanks!
At the beginning I thought he took a clean truck and made it look abandoned. The dirty truck looked pretty cool too, like a modeler did it on purpose.
Hey I like an subscribe can I please have that truck iam a big fan
He did
Gracias
I got the feeling that he makes them dirty himself. Most of the toys he "restores" look way too new to have been "abandoned", so he probably just bought it new, buried it in his backyard for a week or 2 and made it clean again
It's called weathering & you can make the newest things look really old & beatup if you're good enough .Took me years of practice .Some models just look far better weathered & with that really worn look especially earth moving & mining models.
I actually really liked the weathered look. But great restoration still.
He just wiped away the souls of every child and adult who enjoyed it over the year's. Old things if look at them a certain way tell wonderful stories. BTW I made pretty much the same comment a month ago. Sometimes things don't need "fixing".
Me too... Still looks sharp though!
I've never saw anything like this before. And all put together with screws. You turned that truck and trailer into a new one. Very nice work. Thanks for sharing.👍
I use to drive the Kenworth T600 over the road, very nice truck with lots of interior room and roomy sleeper. Iv'v never seen such a detailed model like this before.
Repent to Jesus Christ! “Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed-not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence-continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,” Philippians 2:12 NIV
Who made this model ?
Anyone who is wondering, its a 1997 Franklin Mint Kenworth (released in 1999) OOB it was green w/gold stripe
I never knew these existed. I'll have to look into them but this one was really nicely done to resemble a real truck that's been run hard.
That would have been an expensive model back then.
Yes they were pricey in the day. I had 3 of them from Franklin Mint, 379Pete with Refer, 613Mack with Tanker, and this one we just watched. I do believe they were around $200-250.
@@biffsbigwheel210 Is it 1/18th scale ? I used to collect and alway wished I could find a 1 18th scale truck.

I'll be honest the old version tricked me I had to look at the details again because it looked so real. I wasn't sure if it was a camera trick that showed you playing with a real truck, until I got into it few more seconds and realized that this was just a damn good model. I don't think you should've restored it, because after restoring it the truck looks like a clean toy but doesn't have the realistic look to it that it formerly had. Either way amazing skills, I admire any one that can paint and has the patience to do all of this. I know I would easily be able to take it a part but then putting it back together I'd fail LOL.
Me too
I know it looked so real but it is a realistic model.
I've never cared about semi trucks, but I'm really digging this model.
*_Me sorprende la calidad y el detalle del juguete es idéntico a uno real😍,Saludos desde México_*

Incredible detail inside the trailer as well. Who made this truck? What did it cost when new? I’ve never seen a model with so much detail. Even the crank on the trailer works.
I've got this truck, well I've got 4 including a fire engine all with this detail, mine were bought from Fraklin Mint many years ago, im sure they retailed at just over £200 then, I still have them to this day, I've a Peterbilt, a mack and a freightliner.

Man I would have given anything for one of those when I was a kid. Not sure how long the mirrors and antennas would have lasted though lol. I’d have been tempted to have left the trailer at least as is. Looked totally old school and used which is good i a way too. Nice work.
Curious which took longer? The restoration, or the original paint job to give it the aged look? Nice work!

Great job!! Very detailed t600, with a red top n14 cummins. Love the color
I am pretty sure the artist that originally weathered and aged that truck to look real and used would be pissed off that you undid all of his work to make it look like a toy. Don't get me wrong. You did a good job, but you destroyed a masterpiece to do it.
HELL YEAH.
Yep
Same guy did both.
Either way it didn’t look like a toy, and I’m pretty sure they do it themselves
I agree but to a collector, that restored truck is worth a good chuck of change

Boy... This truck model is so real man!
Nice job on the restoration. I drove a T-600 with a 3406 CAT and a 13 speed back in the 80s from NY to CA several times. Nice riding with a good view out front. And comfortable to sleep in too.
Great job!!! Would be nice to see you working on the cabin interior and the engine details too.
How about on parts inside that engine?
It’s a lot harder to make them look like new, then making them look like abandoned and trash just my opinion it’s nice to see the spit-shine every once in a while💯😎
I would have left it like that cause it looks awesome with a used look, shows age and use, it's something I do with all my model kits I build
it look very realistic
Except the fiberglass hood on a Kenworth doesn't rust.

Horrifying. The truck was much cooler *before* the awesome real-world character was entirely obliterated. It would have been much better to 3D-scan and replicate than ruin such a splendid work of art.
I have seen a lot of models, but I have NEVER seen that amount of detail. Hands down the best model ever. Coming from someone who had an Anteater when they first came out, and a trucker for 45 years. Man, what would something like that cost? Had to be a fortune.
Found out it was made by Franklin Mint, now out of business. Probably cost $400-$500 dollars for the tractor and trailer. Totally worth it, too!

Nice job, I've seen real trucks like this one on the road looking like the before part of this video.
@@Xetta_Mode They run them into the ground with little maintenance. Heck, sometimes they don't even wash them.
The detailing on this model is awesome!!!!!
Feel lied to. The "rust" was painted on by an artist, and this guy comes along and undoes everything for his "restoration". And then the result looks less real and worse than the original. And I've never seen such a boring trailer as that one. One color for the whole thing? I've never seen one entirely metallic grey. Really uninspired and low effort once you got to the trailer.
I don't think I've seen a model so detailed, even to fuel tanks on the undercarriage 🤔 pretty cool
My preference, it looked cooler unrestored, it looked more realistic. Maybe just neutralizing the rust would have done the trick but overall, nice restoration as a new truck
Can we just stop for a minute and appreciate how intricately made this model truck is. I half expected it to run... on stro rum or something.
it has a red top cummins! if it was dripping oil all over would be so real! lol
One area that they missed was the stinger. They have the two air lines going to the trailer but not the stinger, which is what transfers the power and signal for the trailer lights.

Franklin Mint Company made those. They had a whole line up of trucks. 379Pete T600KW 613Mack
Can we have a moment of silence for the amount of work put in the truck just for it to be taken apart
You should have done a throw back to BJ McKay paint on the tractor and trailer, would have been Uber cool. Us old guys would have got it, but the new kids wouldn’t have a clue. Snowman’s Truck and trailer would have been pretty awesome too. Looks great the way you have it too, awesome job brother.
