  • I met Brad in Montreal, in 2016. He was not only very kind, but he also was very generous with his time. After 10 minutes of talking, it's one of the trainers that told him reporters we're waiting to see him. He looked at us and said, time to smile for the camera. First class gentlemen Brad ✌🏿✌️👍🏻👍🏿🇨🇦

  • As a Bruins fan, I am surprised to hear people say Marchand is a certain Hall-of-Famer. Including this season, he's been putting up points at an elite pace for only 6 years. In his first 454 games he scored 289 points. That's 0.637 points per game. Since then, in 369 games he has 450 points. 1.220 PPG. Except for Pierre Turgeon (1327 points) inexplicably not being in the HHOF, having about 1200 points guarantees players the HHOF. Marchand has 739 points. If he averages 1.0 PPG for the rest of his career, he'll need to play five full seasons after this one. By that time, he'll be 39 years old. It could happen, but it seems unlikely to me. I'll think he finish his career as one of those "not quite great enough for the HHOF" players.

That's why they feel very fortunate and remain humble. I'm in the entertainment business and years ago, did a party at Corey Schneiders house in NJ. The whole Devil team was there. All were gentleman and very respectful. I did NYR parties in NY and met the young players and oldest Veterans. They were all the same great people. • Ranger fan here, every game I've seen him, he's a solid star, but then he's the best player on the Ice for 3 or 4 shifts,, every game

  • I know everybody hates him outside of Boston, but he's definitely got skills, not the least of which is being a burr under the saddle of his opponents. As a, Hawks fan I don't remember him doing anything dirty in the finals against him, just being a pain in the ass to play against and always a threat to score. In interviews I have seen, he seems like a really bright, interesting guy with a great sense of humor.

  • The fact he's so reviled shows how well he plays his role, from a Leafs fan. BTW, that thumbnail is funny AF.

    • But if he wouldn’t do his antics and just play like the elite player he is then no one would have an issue with him. He CHOOSES to be a rat as people call him. All he has to do is play good and he would still get under other players skins because they KNOW he is just that good of a player. So to me he can be all nice off the ice but if he chooses to be a dumbass then we are going to treat him as one.

  • Won’t lie like any fan of any team other than Boston was not a fan of Marchand even knowing it’s a game and that’s his job is to get under the other players skin. But this made me gain a whole lot of respect for him. Same happened with P.K. Suban seeing how 2 of my least favorite players are off the ice and how they interact with fans and kids gave me a new outlook of them.

  • "A question I’m asked a lot is, “Is Marchand a good guy?” And I can tell you, no lie, that he’s a really, really great guy - if he’s on your team. Marshy’s a person who will always lighten up the mood when we need it. You can always tell when he’s in the room and when he’s not. There’s no guy who is a better representation of what Boston hockey is all about. But one thing you absolutely have to know is that you will not outchirp Marshy. You just won’t. The guy always gets the final word. As soon as a guy on the other team messes up, Marshy will be right there to skate by him and say, “That’s the best play you’ll make all night. Keep going.” That’s if he’s in a good mood and going easy on the guy. If there’s a young kid on the other team, he’ll skate up to them between whistles and say, “Hey buddy, glad you could make it. Just try to soak it all in. Enjoy it. This is your last game before you’re sent down.” Of course there are many, many other truly hilarious things I’ve heard him say over the years, but none of them are really close to being appropriate for publication."
