This hot mic was absolutely hilarious

I'm shocked they broadcasted this but these are the moments I live for. In todays Boston Bruins vs Florida Panthers NHL playoff game, ESPN broadcasted one of the longest hot mic sequences I've seen with some awesome chirps. In a game that turned into a blow out, things got heated between the benches as Matthew Tkachuk along with Eric Staal had plenty of words for Tomas Nosek after Nosek hit Staal high. My personal favourite was "Nice hit, you fu**ing loser". I cover this and much more in todays NHL hockey video!

    • You would have all the female "sportscasters" twisting their panties over it. They already do everything they can to remove fighting from the game, and inject social politics. Best not give them any more ammunition. I can't even watch the between period commentaries anymore. Women with NO CLUE about hockey culture talking about hockey culture. (Women's hockey has NOTHING to do with hockey culture...women are refined, men are pure animals).

    • I used to ref high school and amateur hockey. (Also played, too). The refs at all levels, even the NHL have the power to run out the clock if they feel there may be fighting or other mayhem on the ice. Obviously, they won’t do it in a 1 or 2 goal game, or if there is a lot of time left. Typically you’ll only see this done in amateur and youth games with less than a minute on the clock, and in NHL games with less than 10 or maybe 15 seconds left.

Krejci is nothing more than a powerplay specialist now, and Zacha has been invisible. The defense has been a shell of itself too. I don't know if players like Lindholm, Orlov, and McAvoy are dealing with that flu, but they've been really bad. So many turnovers for everyone it's not looking good at all. They also can't score like they were before. That's been the case for the past few months though.

  • I said the Panthers were a worst-case matchup for the Bruins. They're 2-2 vs them in the regular season, and the Cat's speed was going to give Boston problems. If Boston lets the Panthers dictate the pace of the game they will create sloppy turnovers that leave Ullmark out to dry. The only thing that could undo the Panthers is their penalty issues. You can't take 5+ penalties a game and beat Boston, their 5v5 hockey these past 2 games has been solid.

    • I am from Boston and I told everyone around here that Florida was the worst matchup for them in the first round. The Panthers have been playing playoff hockey basically for the last month just trying to get into the playoffs while the Bruins were still winning for the last month but they were so relaxed. And I said that Florida won the President's trophy last year so this is not a team that reflects its record. Everyone laughed at me. I wonder what they will say when I go into work today.

    • 2-2 in the regular season is incredibly irrelevant considering Swayman played in both losses and was struggling at the time, and the Bruins were a completely different team back then. That first game, they had four different d-men than they can ice now. What is worrying is their current health/illness bug. They've played two pretty meh to outright bad games and still outshot the Panthers. Lindholm has looked horrible, Ullmark has looked pale (literally) and only played alright. A tonne of other players have played at like 80% of their capacity. If even half the players get back to their potential, it's not even a close matchup. But the Panthers are doing what they can to make it a matter of who can capitalise on the opponents' mistakes and stole a road game. Good on them, even if it is against a crippled team. "The only thing that can undo the Panthers is their penalties" is a joke, though. The Bruins are far and away the greatest 5 on 5 team in hockey, and great on the penalty kill, but not particularly strong on the power play. A lot of things can undo the Panthers, chief amongst them being the Bruins playing even a B to B+ game (5 on 5).
