I bought an abandoned Gated Manual Lamborghini Murcielago from a track experience company. It was left there for 7 years after a mechanic attempted to fix a problem with the engine. After he rebuilt it the engine wouldn't turn over so they left it. Me and my dad have been working together to rebuild the engine whilst also doing it in a cost efficient way as lamborghini parts are not cheap. But today we finally install it!

  • A massive round of applause for Armstrong & Son and everyone who has helped on this build. I’m sure this was by far the most complicated rebuild you’ve had! Bravo Mat, we are all looking forward to the key-turning moment!!!

  • A bit late to the party but watching you work with your dad and how giddy he gets with you is so touching to see. My dad helps me with the physical parts of my car modification that as a female I'm just not strong enough to do. He's recently been diagnosed with cancer and the thought of potentially not having him to help me again really hits hard. Cherish your dad for as long as you can, there's nothing quite like it

    • Agreed, great opportunity to make the engine sparkle - afterall the engine is the star of this car - the rest of it owes more to a kit car than a factory supercar to my eyes. Brake line needed to be cut with the correct tool as well - very little of the pipe looked clear after the angle grinder.

      @tillyfoxtrotter@tillyfoxtrotter Жыл бұрын
    • @@tillyfoxtrotter I think the time it would take to do that could literally be starting of finishing another project so as a business move getting it up and running, then cleaning as well as you can afterwards is the best move. You can see the rush in fabricating the gaskets instead of waiting a day. I totally get it. I’d probably do the same. But I can also see why some viewers would be left unfulfilled.

With reference to those butterfly valves, I had a bmw 530d e39 with the same design, something to do with the emissions I believe. One of them disintegrated and completely destroyed the engine. • Wow I do remember the moon landing and it’s a battle between Matt and NASA! Mr. Armstrong (Dad) your son is a miracle worker and apparently a part time rocket scientist and a new renaissance man. That Lamborghini engine is a wild bull tamed by our hero Matt Armstrong. Thanks, Tony and Patty from Texas! Cheers! Loved this episode. Well worth the wait.

  • Man, another awesome episode of this amazing journey! You're making amazing memorable moments with the people you love around you and I think that's far more important than the car itself! You're an amazing person Mat and it always puts a smile on my face whenever your upload a new video!

  • Brilliant Matt, Good work n love the can-do attitude, It opens so many doors to life. We are blessed with the internet to help learn n find things to make more happen. I think the vacuum in the inlet is to change the fuling pattern for 1 cold running or 2 low speed, Ian Tyrrell touched on this on one of his vids, he said it makes have more torque at low speeds. Love the update vids Matt..best of luck with everything 😁👍

  • Inspiring stuff Mat. Truly inspiring. My Dad was a top mechanic, he even rebuilt the Merlin engine that was/is in the Manchester Air & Space Museum and I can hear him saying "That Mat he's a good lad!" Which, from Walter, is praise indeed

  • FINALLY! We waited 1.5 hours, i didn't go sleep, it's 2:29am, but now i can watch and peacefully go sleep🤗 Edit: It was worth it, engine looks massive! Hope the sensor wire works and nothing blows up when someone's gonna start the engine 🤭

  • Tip for the Instrument Cluster: You could use a thermal camera to see if there is a short on the board and if you identify a short you can replace that chip (In normal cases when you switch + and - a short happens and that area will heat up due to a short-connectivity)
