      @theresahana7210@theresahana721027 күн бұрын
    • @@theresahana7210 Well in fact Egypt do not have coffee, Turkish coffee means, the way Turks make coffee, actually coffee first came from Yemen (south of Arabian peninsula) , when Turks had those lands and Turks introduced Coffee to Europe in 16th century in Ottoman period, and from cultivation in Ottoman Empire, Captain John Smith got the first seeds and introduced coffee to America.. So, Turks and Turkish coffee was the bridge for coffee to be introduced to world from their land (as Yemen was ruled by Turks when coffee was first introduced). So, that why there is the thing 'Turkish coffee' term exists. As historically and gastronomically..

  • There’s an excellent hack for those who don’t prefer breakfast early in the morning. In India, many people start their day with about 8-10 almonds soaked overnight in water. You peel off the skin (better for absorption, reduces the digestive discomfort) and eat the almonds chewing slowly. I find them delicious. And it’s kind of meditative. Then I head for my single cup of coffee with cow’s milk or almond milk. Blood sugar stays steady for hours. Hope this helps and Jesse, thank you!

Growing evidence shows that interindividual differences in caffeine response may be partly due to variations in genes such as CYP1A2 and ADORA2A, which have been used to identify individuals as "fast" or "slow" caffeine metabolizers and as having a "high" or "low" caffeine sensitivity, respectively

If you wake just fine without caffeine then you can do a different morning routine like hot water and lemon, or invent your own “morning cup” of health benefits. Coffee’s main magic is the effects of caffeine giving us energy (which you already have?) Plus the routine = reward center, part of our brains. You can mimic that in your own way !

    • Coffee doesn’t give you energy. That’s a red herring right there. Caffeine is a psychoactive substance that mimics energy by activating the adrenal glands and releasing the stress hormone cortisol which gives you the buzzy feeling. To someone with a disregulated nervous system, caffeine is a no no. It can cause anxiety and panic. It’s not for everyone. Some people can handle it, some can’t

  • Here are some key studies and their authors that have linked coffee consumption to negative health outcomes: 1. Cardiovascular disease: - A study by Greenberg et al. (2008) published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology found that heavy coffee consumption (more than 4 cups per day) was associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular events in individuals with preexisting hypertension or obesity. 2. Insomnia and sleep disturbances: - A study by Drake et al. (2013) published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine found that caffeine intake, including from coffee, was associated with increased sleep disturbances and shorter sleep duration. 3. Anxiety and restlessness: - A systematic review by Navarro et al. (2017) published in the Brazilian Journal of Psychiatry found that high coffee consumption (more than 4 cups per day) was associated with an increased risk of anxiety disorders. 4. Bone health: - A study by Rapuri et al. (2001) published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that caffeine consumption, primarily from coffee, was associated with lower bone mineral density in elderly women. 5. Gastric issues: - A study by Feldman et al. (1997) published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that coffee consumption, particularly decaffeinated coffee, was associated with an increased risk of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

  • In the oat milk latte comparison (12:25), the brand listed has 17 grams of added sugar per serving (240ml) for a total of 25g of carbs. I blend my own oat milk from an oat milk powder (e.g., Norcal Organic) which has only a single ingredient (oats!). It has 15g of carbs, 4 being natural occurring sugars, 1 being fiber. I sweeten with a monk fruit/erythritol combo, flavor with vanilla and add healthy fats (avocado & macadamia nut oils) to improve mouthfeel. With mostly complex carbs, I would imagine a very different spike compared to the Pacific Foods oat milk or the Horizon milk which has 12g of sugars.

Depending on the mood. I used to drink 5 or more cups per day, then replaced it with water. Now I have a cup of warm water in the morning and 3-5 cups of water in a day, but also 2-3 cups of coffee somewhere in a day. I'm curious of what this video will tell me.

  • As my coffee water gets close to boiling (pour-over) I put some of that hot water into a cup, squeeze whatever citrus I have on hand into it, cool with water, and sip it, feeling the cleansing wash into my conduits, replacing lost overnight moisture, and tempering the coffee that' s just around the corner. My absolute favorite is to have herbal tea in the morning, and coffee just before lunch -heaven! but I'm addicted to early coffee. Not the coffee itself, but the taste, the ritual, and fortunately like it black and weak. Jessie is right on. Takes a bit more discipline than I usually have...

    • Unless you buy (or make homemade) almond milk from blanched almonds, most almond milk is manufactured with whole almonds, which means the skin is included in the making of the almond milk and it contains both lectins and phytic acid. So it's definitely not a good choice if you use it daily. Almonds are great and tasty, but like any nuts and seeds, not good every day because of those compounds. Phytic acid can impair mineral absorption in your diet. Oxalic acid is another "anti-nutrient" that can hinder mineral absorption.

  • I wouldn't put dairy milk matcha-lattes if you're drinking it for health reasons. Some of the proteins in cow's milk (esp. casein) can reduce the absorption of many beneficial nutrients. Matcha is known for its antioxidant compounds like polyphenols, flavonoids and catechins. A handful of studies suggest that proteins in milk can bind into those, making them less available for our bodies to absorb.

  • Great video. I am struggling with glucose levels and subsequent mood issues, such as reactive hypoglycemia and anxiety when it drops. I chose decaf today to see if it makes a difference and so far I think it has. I think caffeine/coffee may be having a much bigger impact on some of us than is recognized....and just like red wine was pushed as having health benefits, perhaps it is the same for coffee...the harm is outdoing the good for some. Also what goes up (mood due to drugs, alcohol, caffeine) must go down and goes *below* baseline leaving you depressed and anxious until your brain eventually comes back up to baseline.

I go to the gym at noon (when my clients leave me alone for lunch) and just before I hit the thread mill (to walk my 5km of every day) then I have my cup of coffee. I usually dont have breakfast, all I have in the morning is that vinegar tablespoon in a tall glass of water, as you told me too ;) and I feel so great! And it seems that by walking the 5km makes the caffeine run out in less than 8 hours, cause I can sleep well eventhough I had the coffee. Cool isn't it? I have lunch around 1PM as I get back from the gym and I eat the way you taught: vegies first, than proteins and fats and carbs for the last. Sweet! Thanks for all those tips!
