The deep exhaust sounds for me 👍
same here, mate. Raspy is not bad, but sounds rather uncontrollable and loud ... deep exhaust is rather tighter but still has the sound of its strength. Also rather better for a daily car and traveling :)
You guys should make a video on your employees' vehicles exhaust setups
The youngster with the Mustang. In 20 years time, he will say, "My hearing got messed up because of the damn exhaust." 😂
I once drove a straight-piped pickup for three weeks. The muffler rotted off, and it had no catalytic converters. So it basically dumped after the collector. The first week was awesome. The second and third were not. I quickly started keeping earmuffs in the cab, and I ordered a new muffler. Now it has a Super 10, so it's still noisy, but at least it isn't obnoxious, overbearing, or deafening.
nah, it'll end up in a tree in less than 6 months
@kyletrummel7074 I daily drive a straight piped truck lol. It has a 3 inch system the whole way out the back so it's not loud at all in the cab unless you have the windows down. It claps and kinda sounds like shit though so I'm eventually getting a muffler for it.
The only way you could ever get the exhaust loud enough inside the vehicle (even with the windows down) to damage your hearing would be to run the pipes right inside. I've had the loudest exhaust possible on mine and it was still quiet inside, it was absolutely obnoxious on the outside so I went back to something more subtle but good sounding)
@@camyota the volume affects you deeper than just your ears. Regular exposure to loud noises is bad for your cardiovascular system. I already work in a noisy shop, so I don't need the "loudest exhaust system" on my daily driver.
When i was in my late teens/early 20's i would've gone 'Raspy' all day long but as I've gotten into my 30's i so much prefer a deep bark 😌
i am 18 and i would say deep all the way. for me raspy only fits old american v8s. may be a result of me being german but idk
If my welder ever said “it’s too loud right?” I’m rethinking my decisions 😅
13:12 sounds amazing
easily my favourite of the video, just wish it had the wheels from the other s4
The deep sounding Audi sounds so good.
I prefer the deep bass exhaust instead of the snap, crackle & pop. It use to be that a raspy exhaust was sign that you had the incorrect exhaust for you car...now, it's OEM.
The louder it is the easier it is to find who was having fun.
The louder it is the easier it is for the cops to find who was having fun.
Definitely deep sound 🔥
I feel like every car sounds better with some sort of crossover pipe, imo
No, german v6/8 are very often better without. Except for the e90 m3
@@Falco_e46 hes giving an opinion home slice, the audi sounds much cleaner with the crossover pipe so yes i agree with @dustinscott2604 lmao
@@Benny-js2gv I‘m also just giving an opinion haha, I feel like this audi sounded much better on startup without, when driving off with was better yeah.
@@Falco_e46 it’s all in the way you say it the first time, leading with no doesn’t sound like you’re adding your opinion sounds like you’re correcting him.
I respect everybody’s opinion, I just wish they’d steer some customers towards the crossover on some cars since they have experienced what sounds good and bad
The raspy sound is just perfect
The raspy sound sounds broken while the deep sound sounds refined
That S4 v8 w/6 speed is sweet! Both setups sounded good but I'd prob go with the black widows.
Same. The straight pipe sounded beautiful from the side profile outside the car. Behind it though, a little too much tin sound.
an exhaust shop with a decible reader is so funny 🤣🤣
Hey I would like to get in touch with you on doing a rear car delete on my 2004 crown Vic lx I would like to go from a single exit to a dual exit
Mbrp on the ole 5.7 sounds really nice
I have an Audi S5 6 speed, which also has the 4.2 V8, let my shop work on the stock center silencer (which is kind of an hpipe resonator combo) and put some louder mufflers on. Gets the nice deep sound and still is daily drivable for longer journeys haha, looking into some valved mufflers next though.
This man's the Scotty Kilmer of exhaust's and I'm so here for it lol. Just got an 18 GT been looking for some burbles and pops like my last car (Elantra N) I have the active exhaust b
take mid resonator off
Have you guys ever used a wicked flow kamikaze muffler? I’ve seen them online other videos, would be great if you installed them on a common platform on your channel like a Mustang, so it may be compared. Thanks for your consideration and big fan of the channel! 😊
Have you done any of the borla switch-fire setups?
I had a raspy B7 S4 for 5 yrs. Miss how obnoxious and magical the exhaust note was. She screamed like a banshee at WOT. More-so than the raspy example in this vid.
Mbrpeace and that exhaust barbel and that teyota tundra l I love this guy
No disrespect but I think you could benefit from some autocorrect 😂
@jimmyneutron5256 that's how he talks I'm just making fun of him lol
Deep wins it. It has sound and tone. The raspy just sounds loud.
ib have a few different systems on my 392 corsa, borla you name is been driving 392s since the first one came out decided to try something different with the MRBP and for the price im like its worth atleast trying out and it great deep growl low rpm daily drving and screams when you get one it 10/10 for the price
BEAST MODE ❗❗❗
What kind of car inspections does your area have? A few places here in NC have failed me (or me having to pay them more to pass me) because of my "loud" exhaust. Crazy thing is, all the cars on here sound way louder than my 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX. I have a high flow cat on my downpipe, a resonated mid pipe and muffler. The last shop to fail me said that they "couldn't pass my car because they can't see the catalytic converter." I do have aftermarket headers too that did make it sound more raspy. But still, so much trouble for me to find a place to get inspected 🤦♂️
Amevery vehicle I have owned in the last 15 years has gotten pypes mufflers. I’ve tried most and they sound the best, just my opinion
I’m a big exhaust guy love it , now for some reason every time I straight pipe or put a one chamber muffler in any of my car is fun the first week , after second week it’s star annoying me , like to daily drive a car with loud muffler it’s not a good idea , now if it’s your weekend car go for it !!
You guys should've tested raspy mufflers, such as chambered mufflers. It would sound a lot better than straight piping.
car lookin and soundin buff but the driver lookin like the villian from megamind lol
I can deal with a little raspiness loud asf 🔥🔥
Both, deep idle cruise, and raspy WOT
fyi if those audi muffles are in good condition they go for about 150 a piece used
You always say they sound good even when they don’t
What's he supposed to say? "I know you're excited but God that sounds awful"
@@theconfused_fisherman Often things sound so much worse on video than they do in person.
That sounds good sf idk what ppl talking about
Looking for advice: Just bought a used Magnum SRT8 with the 6.1 hemi. Has stock exhaust, which is really quiet. I love the S-Type Borla, but the only exhaust system they sell for the Magnum is with the ATAK. ATAK sounds amazing at idle and normal drive, but I don't like the crackle/pop when really putting the pedal down. Should I get used to it (I don't drive WOT often, after all), look for another brand, piece together something out of shelf parts?
just a heads up, ive had a lot of wagons and they all drone more than a sedan or coupe would with the same exhaust. i had cherrybomb 32 inch glasspack mid mounted with dynomax bullets at the rear and it droned but wasn't even that loud. i swapped the cherrybomb for a blackwidow neighbor hater and it reduced the drone by a lot, it was there but nothing crazy ( this was a dual exit setup and i think it contributed to the drone). now i just have the blackwidow in a single exit set up and its very loud but drone is almost non existent. granted this is on a subaru outback with a flat 6 so it may vary a bit with your magnum but wagons just have a tendency to drone no matter what. my suggestion would be custom exhaust with neighbor haters on each side/exit and then j pipes to kill any potential drone.
@@Flat_3_6 Thanks! I didn't think much about the body style having a large effect on the interior noise/drone. Most of the talk is about the sound on the outside. Shame that it isn't easy to compare before making a choice with a lot of money behind it!
Loud doesnt equal good
I've been always a fan of VERY deep sounding exhausts. To the point I take deep sound over volume. They always sound good, at any RPMs, as long as there are no issues like leaks or other problems of such kind. That's why I'm a big fan of resonated Magnaflow-based cat back setups, can be in a stock diameter, maybe stepped up by 0,25 inch at its best (in axle-back or whole part), especially paired with an H pipe in case of V6 and V8 engines, and stock manifolds with stock cats still on, finished with some turndowns or slant cut dual-wall big bore tips. In my opinion this is a foolproof way of making any car sound really good. Surprisingly it is not that common from what I observe, but maybe I'm just looking wrong, or maybe it drones too much for many people.
I prefer the to keep it as all natural as possible can't keep it perfect being I have to use a muffler but close enough.
3 inch and h pipe keeps it deep sounding. X pipe makes it raspy...coyotes are high rev engines so hard to get perfect but I prefer the h pipe setup.
Deep ftw
Deep is the way to go
I want to do a muffler delete, but the law in PA says you must have a sound dampening device. Does a resonator count as a soud dampening device?
Don’t see a reply so figured I’d give you an answer. Yes a resonator is considered a sound dampening device but you can also do a valve cutout muffler which also helps drone when driving long distance. Resonator typically is designed to resonate with the undesirable frequencies canceling them out thus lowering the overall loudness. P.s. I drive a 2018 Hyundai elantra with a dual cat and glass pack. Needless to say it sounds mean.
Where y'all located?
The deep choices are much better in my years
I definitely prefer the black widow s4 over all of the others
Damn even that Catback wouldnt be allowed where i live xD
i like the Straight Pipe one, but its just way too loud hahaha if you can get that sound but way quieter i would be happy with that
You remove the resonator and add a bigger muffler 👍
5.0 mustangs are so loud it's crazy
idk man, the deep sounds better on the audi and the kia but that straight pipe on the mustang just sounds so aggressive
Raspy just is more raw sounding which I love. The "deep" sound is just eh
Raspy is only ever done right with a good resonator to get rid of the wet fart noise.
Damn I miss my Stinger...
Deep tone is better 👍👍👍👍
Mustang: I like raspy S4: I like deep................... And manual Stinger: Both
Magnaflow woyld be deep, the MBRP is generally known to be a raspy system.
The customgrow420 of exhaust
NAAMEEEAAAANNNN!!!!
nah that kia (Deep) sounds better than most 6 cyclinder cars
Straight pipes are always shitty sounding to me. That cat-back sounds wonderful.
I like actually hearing the exhaust, but that is waayyyy too loud
audi + mustang raspy FTW! Audi rims are over kill , out of symmetry. an inch shorter would best fit it
Those mustangs need more man pedal.
mustang the raspy 1 sounds better even doe it don't sound that raspy
ngl. mustang gt 5.0 ?? straight pipe? NEVER DISAPPOINT YOU. btw idle was great
Tone over volume any day!
the main difference is deep exhausts sound good and raspy exhausts should have stayed at home
'Raspy Sound'? more like clapped out. Deep for me for sure
Always hated the raspy sound, it’s just taking an engine that could sound good and making it sound awful like it’s going through a horn
every vid y’all rev the fuck out of cold engines
deep is always better
I'll take straight pipe on that S4, lol. Mustang is way better with mufflers. That Stinger sounds awful no matter what you do. Loud V6s always sound atrocious.
I like the white cars sound better
The stinger with no mufflers and vibrant resonators sounds terrible
Most men like to go Deep.
The S4 sounds better than the coyote.
FYI, that borla "baby resonator" on the Stinger is actually harmonically tuned piece specific for the stinger engine note. It doesn't attenuate or propagate the exhaust volume but rather sonically tunes like a pipe organ and harmonizes the exhaust notes. The science and theory is quite sound behind the concept, but how it translates to the real world... not sure. Would be cool to cut one out to see how much that one piece changes the tone. Keep that in mind for a future video. 👍
the raspy exhausts are so obnoxious bruh
The audi sounds like a honda lol
Why do most coyotes sound so bad? I have yet to hear a coyote that sounds better with an aftermarket exhaust. They always sound horrible. The old SBF 5.0 and DOHC 4.6 were some of the best sounding American v8s ever made. It almost didn’t matter what exhaust you put on them, they sounded amazing. The coyote is one of the worst sounding engines from any manufacturer. I’d honestly rather listen to a clapped out civic with a fart can.
X pipe is raspy and high pitched, divorced duals (the "raspy," at least for the first mustang in this vid) is more like deep and farty. All the squat truck bros run divorced duals to make their trucks "clap" more. Sounds like crap every time, especially with 5" or bigger rolled edge tips that make it clap, snap, and fart even MORE. Then they have to gall to say 4-cyl with a glass pack in the middle and resonated tip sounds bad? Fk outta here.
Yeah, I think a better practice is to say what kind of crossover and muffling the car has and let us decide whether it's raspy, smooth, deep, high pitched, exotic, or w/e. Also True X vs stamped X makes a difference, and so does single vs double X. There's also a difference between a small diameter (smaller than the rest) and large diameter (same as the rest) H, and I think there's a difference between a narrow/close mount H and a wide mount H, but I haven't been able to confirm the latter. Not so sure a single vs double H does a whole bunch, either. And of course, divorced duals will always sound like they do there isn't really any variance besides, I supposed, being too big/too small a diameter.
Deep over Rasp all day. Rasp isn’t a good sound.
"NAMEAN"!!! Ya heard?!?!?!
Silver straight-pipe Mustang sounded HORRIBLE! I LOVE Audi also - owned an 2010 S4 and a 2017 S6, next will be a 2024 RS6 Avant Performance - and both options on the Audi sounded good actually! But I would stay with the deeper setup, the higher RPMs got very raspy. And lastly on the KIA - just don't!!!! Don't do anything to it, don't waste your money - it'll sound like crap no matter what you do!!!!
The deep sound on the Kia was sum cool shi but the raspy sound was pretty bad imo
Raspy is shit sound. Reminds me of a 90’s civic with a hole in the exhaust
Not surprised in the slightest that the straight-pipe was ordered by some derpy kid that's desperately trying to look cool.
Deep sound always. Raspy is childish.
damn the stingers sadly sound terrible
Raspy sounds better
