The Dagestan Chronicles presented by Will Harris Productions
In this final episode preview, Khabib Nurmagomedov takes me to the mountains and I learn about the Origin of the nickname "The Eagle, his village, where his family originally are from and the love he has for his home. This is a unique look at a side of the UFC Lightweight Champion, that no one has ever had the pleasure of seeing. The full episode will drop next week...
As you all know, back at UFC 223, UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov invited me to Dagestan, Russia.
Me being the trooper I am, took him up on his offer and came abroad to witness and learn more about the people of Dagestan.

Because we are all the same in front of god no matter how rich, popular and clever we actually are. Islam teachs us to be honest to all and to help everyone who needs our help, and to treat other people like we would like other people treat us.

You can see even other fighters, who used to be humble, like GSP and Gustafsson, even they are trying to trash talk a little once in a while. Khabib's a rock. He then tore his rotator cuff and couldn't continue. ~ Against Lennox, Vitali was winning 4/2 on all three scorecards. He then got a bad cut and despite the fact that Vitali wanted to continue fighting the Ref stopped the fight. They were going to rematch but Lennox was fucking around. Vitali then beat Johnson and became the mandatory. WBC then said they would strip Lennox if he didn't fight. Lennox then decided to retire. - *He's the only Heavyweight boxer to have reigned as world champion in 3 different decades.* - *He's one of only two Heavyweight boxers in history to defend a title after turning 40.* - *He's the second longest reigning WBC Heavyweight champion of all time.* - *He has the third longest WBC Heavyweight title streak of all time.* - *He has the fourth longest combined title streak in modern Heavyweight history.*

But Khabib, apart from being formidable and dominant in the sport, just feels bigger than it. There's a quality about him that is magnetic and quietly inspirational. You just know you don't come across people like him very often. • These videos on khabib are the best inside MMA videos I've seen. It makes you really feel what it was like where he grew up, the culture and vibe of the place. It makes you want to go there. The village he was born in is so remote and looks amazing. How amazing that a kid from such a small remote village can rise to the top of the most elite fighting organisation in the world and be sitting at the throne in places like Las Vegas... It really goes to show why he is so grounded, and retards like McGregor throwing around Dolleys don't faze him one bit. He is from a completely different world where they had a chance to grow up with out the pathetic distractions of western consumerism; which basically just scatters your mind and leaves you feeling lost and empty. You can see it in his eyes and mannerisms when he is amongst the chaos, that nothing fazes him, because he knows who he is and where he is from.

  • Amazing. Khabib seems so real. Not the type of guy who puts on a fake persona. I think it's that X Factor that makes a lot of people also like him. There is a sense of realness to him... not being flashy. Not being too attention seeking. Not putting on a persona to please the audience and fans. And when he says that he can beat such and such a fighter, it seems to come from a place of real confidence and not being something that he says to hype himself or convincing his ego that it is the case. He is the fighter from the Dagestani village, whether he is in California, Vegas or New York. Just being true to who he is... which seems like an alright guy.

Comparing his community to mine growing up, in England, I'd trade it. These people are all so healthy, supportive and kind to each other.
