I can only imagine how demoralizing it must be for a fighter to have DC on top of them. The guy was so technical, so resourceful and so RELENTLESS. He just never gave his opponents any window to work themselves out of ground control. Amazing.

He was basically the second best at both divisions at the same time. He's only ever lost to Jones and Stipe, and lost to both twice. His HW record is 15-2 and his LHW record is 7-2 (1NC), only ever lost to champs and dominant champs that are future HOF'ers. Chael said it best once, Daniel Cormier is probably the second best LHW to ever do it and he happens to be so unlucky as to be fighting at the same time as the best to ever do it. But p4p Cormier makes a good argument for being no1.
