DJ armbar was just beautiful, 10/10. you cant do it better
Plus he would of won by points easily, the fact that he CHOSE to do it made it 11/10. Anderson Silva didn't have a choice but throw up that triangle.
@@louischasseriaud7529 trade DJ for Ben askren it was the worst desision of the UFC
The seamless from throw was perfect.
@@cacerescl trading dj for anybody is a horrible deal for somebody honestly but such is life.
@@cacerescl ben askren made jorge masvidal into a star, good business move in hindsight
I think every submission was discovered by a Big brother trying random shit on his little brother
As the oldest brother in my family I can confirm that this is a true statement
haha probably
marketing strategy
It's an elder siblings Duty to provide all the nuggies the Indian Burns Wet Willie's for that annoying younger sibling that your parents let get away with murder.
Or a little brother getting pissed off by losing and going apeshit
That throw into armbar still looks like one of the UFC games glitching out and just giving you a different move besides what you punched in. Absolutely love it, some genius-level fight IQ.
When I saw that I went crazy
When you are so good you look like a video game
Fun fact: It actually has been added to the UFC as a flying submission and even there it looks like a glitch
He looks like a bartender throwing drinks and cups around. But with a body. And making it ouch.
Looks like some mad WWE shit
Rightfully so, DJ’s flying armbar was first in this video. BJJ artists understand how beautiful and precise that armbar was. That’s something that lands in practice not in a big ufc bout. Truly remarkable
Yup yup! Couldn't have said it better myself!
Yes and no. But more yes than no
Best submission I have ever seen.
Wasnt a flying armbar but it was just beautiful
That’s not a flying arm bar
Demetrious Johnson is easily the greatest fighter of all time along with GSP, no controversies, no failed drug tests, unstoppable in their primes, 10+ world titles.
@Sleazy yeah but he smoked Cejudo in the first fight and Cejudo went on to beat Dillashaw and Cruz, he also dominated Dodson twice who at one point beat Dillashaw and almost ko’d Petr Yan, he fought tough guys, they just weren’t noticed because it was a new division
@Sleazy I THINK that Less competitive division can smoke your ass 🙂

that calf slicer by oliveira was honestly so cool. takes a real master in jiu jitsu to be able to improvise such an underused technique. Looking forward to his fight with Dustin!
Damn. My man smoked Justin and Dustin under 5 months.
Dolidze got an even better one
I miss prime Mir. Was cool to see a guy his size with a ground game that was that good.
Considering his age he looked really good against Cunningham
Ummm what about Derrick Lewis 🙄
Fabricio Werdum
I’d like to see what he would’ve become if not for the motorcycle wreck. He was never the same.
@@jamesmartin8385 either way he is still the greatest submission artist of all time
One thing I really appreciate about Rogan is his knowledge and hype for obscure submissions
no one said it but beautiful video, nice editing with no voiceover, straight to the list with the comentator and with minimal bgm. nice one you got one new sub
Agreed
Upvote
well put, took the words straight outta my mouth. ive been subbed for awhile now but every new upload gives me the jingles in my belly.
"Looks super emotional as he gets his win and slams his own face into the canvas"🤣🤣🤣I lost it
I like how Frank Mir is consistently on list like this.
First round Mir is a Mythical Fighter
Just remember Frank Mir is the greatest submission artist to ever grace the UFC to Grace martial arts
That Toe Hold is Timeless!
Totally, he has so many rare finishes.
No 1 beat frank mir,,
To be Frank, Mir was an absolute monster during his prime
LMAO good one
I see what you did there
Eyyyyyy
The twister is so cool, but the Peruvian necktie; and the Ezekiel choke are so artistic, that’s why they are my favorite.
That twister fucking hurts
Prime Frank Mir was something else. A heavyweight that could grapple like a smaller guy
DJ’s arm bar was absolutely insane
Honestly I think skillwise Demetrious Johnson was probably the best MMA fighter that ever lived
Could very well be the case. The man was absolutely unstoppable for years.
always love the von preux flue choke. in a street fight people love to hold on to the neck thinking they can get something without knowing they can be unconscious in seconds
Nobody: Nick Pace in the middle of a fight: I'm gonna try some shit y'all never seen before
From what I can tell, it looks like a combination of a triangle and an ezekiel. I wonder if he was taught "Concepts" vs straight submissions, cuz I imagine it's hard to imagine that shit up mid fight.
Nick Pace: "I'm going to do what is called a GOD gamer move!" Everyone else: *Surprised Pikachu Face when opponent taps* Nick Pace: "We call it 'The Pace'!" Joe Rogan: "Let's call it 'The Pace'!"
The second flying triangle was just beautiful he did everything right when he got to the ground, blocked the leg so he couldn’t stand up, rolled with the guy to get into the inverted triangle position, let go of the arm so he could keep the triangle. Just beautiful.
fun fact : the "inside arm lock" is actually called the Mir lock. The fighter performing it was the first to pull it out and so it was named after him. I landed few of them at bjj, and if it's setup properly (not like mines so, but i'm working on it XD), it's a real killer move which can catch a lot of people off guard. Also, it's pretty easy to add it in a closed or half guard system. Aproved ^^
He Learned it from someone else, who Learned it from someone else, who.......
This video was awesome. Learned a lot. MMA is so technical. Huge respect for guys that train so hard to be able to do these things.
The most insane transition is from DJ. Beautifully executed takedown to arm bar in mid air.
Frank Mir, man. You look at his face you see Backstreet Boys, look at his physique you get an MMA legend.
The Peruvian Necktie is my favorite submission. It just looks like a brutal submission
Basically any neck-related submission is brutal. It means they could’ve easily killed right then and there.
Anytime someone shoots and you sprawl it's there to attempt. It's one of those moves you forget about.
Awesome compilations man 🔥 Been spamming your videos, keep up the good work and how your channel blows up soon
A von flue is such an elusive and underrated submission. Typically any counter to a submission has to be preemptive because (by design) once a submission is sunk in there’s *almost* no way out. But often a von flue choke is sunk before you even realize you were being submitted, it capitalizes on the opponents tunnel vision when they’re so close to landing that guillotine. So how do you get out of a choke you didn’t know you were in? “Wait what the fuc- aghfkchkabaf!” -actual quote from a guy I did this to
Von Flue choke is definitely sneaky as hell, I kinda feel the same way about the ezekiel but you need to be pretty strong to pull it off reliably.
I’m dead 🤣🤣🤣💀💀
Nick Diaz/Gomi should have been on here. The only Gogoplata I know of in MMA
I was looking for this comment lol
I think shinya aoki hit a gogoplate once. Still very rare
I was watching for it. I believe there was one in the last year or so, but they had to say it was only the second one ever after Diaz/Gomi. Love that submission
@@thegreatjafar1 Aoki did it during a fight? It's impressive if it was.
@@kjunmariner yeah I’m sure he landed one from mount
Djs arm bar was absolutely beautiful. My god, brought a tear to my eye😂👏
Djs armbar was awesome but man that first twister looked painful as all hell
The Ezekiel choke, dude probably didn't even realize what was happening lol probably thought he was winning since he gained top control when the other guy actually gave it to him to execute the choke
Honestly respect for not breaking it lots of people would’ve but he was just keeping him there letting him know that he could ✊🏿
That one at the end i swore he was gonna twist his entire head off 💀
I literally had to watch the shoulder choke by Saint preux like 3 times to understand how he won by submission.
I say it all the time: I have never seen anyone else use the shoulder lock that Mir used on Williams.
To be fair, it kind of looks like an Americana/Keylock, but instead of side control or a crucifix position, it was from the guard position. Correct me if my terms are incorrect, as I'm no virtuoso of MMA concepts myself.
Mir’s submissions are legendary!
Every time a video of DJ's armbar comes up I watch it several times. Just beautiful.
Those twisters are the coolest submission out. I also love a good darce choke.
I’ve used the Mir lock so much, like, I didn’t even know who he was and I was doing that, happy someone brought it into the light, very easy to get and very underutilized
I liked that second scene, the Twister. I remember when I learned about using the legs in my high school wrestling. No way out once you get the legs in there good like that
Yo that first arm bar by Johnson was nuttyyyyyy
Big nutty🤫
Every one of this clips was absurd and I can't choose a favorite
One of the most satisfying ufc compilation ❤ Great technical moves
That vonn flue choke, I had no clue who tapped. Lol.
Same lol
That suplex into armbar is simply immaculate to watch
That slam into an armbar is the craziest sub I've ever seen. Couldn't have been any better than that
0:28 One of the most brilliant setup/submission sequences you’ll ever see. That’s incredible.
Mir moved like a lightweight. Unreal
The twister submission looks so clean!!
I love this video, no talking except commentary
Good for DJ he knew he could’ve broke his arm way earlier but he knew he had him trapped and only applied enough pressure to make him tap
Not your typical highlight video but def the best. Usually people just put the clips of people that get submitted and go to sleep but almost always lack any advanced technical skill 😂
“He’s saying he’s out but he’s not, that is a lie” JOE ROGAN🤣🤣😂😂
This intro gives me 2009 ufc vibes
Creative submissions really add to the art of mma, these are so awesome
I love the no-gi ezekiel. I learned it back when I was 15 and didn't know anything about fighting and now it's the most brutal shit I know how to do. Doesn't work against bigger guys unless you're on top though.
not true. you just saw big guys do it in the UFC lol them dudes arent small
@@glitchdigger what
@@glitchdiggerOleinik has long arms. He can do it on big guys
There's a Matt Hughes choke I was looking for, it wasn't too fancy but it was a front headlock that he used raw strength to get the submission
That ezeikiel was crazy. What a move when you can get it from the bottom like that
4:04 I had never seen the peruvian necktie from the top, amazing
Ezekiel choke is so sneaky. I love it
The first one was awesome he just went mighty wiz bar with that lift when he was elbowed
When I read the title before watching the video, Korean Zombie's twister came to mind... And there it is! And a lot of these are crazy!
As a BJJ athlete who loves doing armbars this inspired me more
That Twister finish is beautiful to watch.
those leaping triangles are insane
That arm bar? Man that was insane 😮
10:52 That's the ol rip their head off trick
A front rnc
demetrious said: "you think you can just elbow me little boy?" *yeet*
I liked the vid and you should do another one with gogoplatas and double arm bars.
jesus christ i wasnt ready for that popped shoulder
great video
That arm bar from dj was so unreal that I was in denial when I saw it during the fight. No one has come close to video game stuff like that.
Nice channel.
Mighty mouse is that quick that he was half way finishing the arm bar in mid air
The first was like magic
I really don't know much avout mma and all the diff moves, but that first one where dude threw little buddy in the arm into that submission i definitely know was amazing. I had to watch it 3 times cause I didn't understand wtf just happened. Only othwr time ive done that was the masvidal askren knock out.
That flying triangle is okay for the ring. Just don't try it in an actual fight, unless you have a similar weight and strength level as your opponent.
Standing rear naked choke is pretty rare submission too, by Jan Błachowicz. Also this lost lacks zabit's sub
When the only names you recognize are DJ,Mir, and Tank, you know you have away way too long.
I don't know if DJ is the GOAT, but he's definitely the most complete fighter of all time.
He’s definitely top 3 in the goat list
Nice submissions
3:39 was a gnarly one
Dimitri Johnson is One of the best skillfull UFC fighter that was I ever seen.
Holy shit. I always knew mir had good bjj but god fan he’s fast thinking
garza knew the triangle was good, seems like he was thinking about tapping when garza said he was out
Incredible skills.
I wonder if anyone else will ever try the Pace.
I will tomorrow
@@domibro1632 did you end up trying it 😭
@@fireprophet970 yea lol it worked
iv been doing it in my gym for a while, kinda discovered it myself
@@domibro1632 From what I can tell from the pause, it looks like a combo of triangle and ezekiel. Right leg in typical triangle position. Can't see the right arm completely, but from where he has his hands locked, I'm guessing he snaked it under the neck. Would that be accurate?
REVERCE CALF SLICER . THAT MOVE LOOKS WICKED . THIS MOVE IS A MUST. where is my grandma 👵 at .? 👀
We never see these because they take so long and so much practice to learn
Definitely need to add the Suloev Stretch on here, Aljamain and Zabit have done it in the UFC.
6:27 dude just wants a hug
Frank Mir man, has alot on his submission arsenal
Blink and you miss some of these! Wild dudes.
God, I love jiujitsu
This was fucking awesome, that reverse calf slicer from Charles is just out of this world, wish you’d have included the ‘Mr. Wonderful’ though! About as rare as it gets that only one guy does it!
Gogoplata's are beautiful and need to be done more
Demetrius Johnson is a legend
You know it's a good one if Joe Rogan asks what did he get him in that pace move was slick
It only really worked because the opponent turned their neck inside the "triangle" and got clamped at the side of the neck. Still incredible that he pulled it off though
7:36 had to have been the most interesting looking submission I’ve ever seen
It honestly kind of is. The idea that you're using your forearm to apply pressure on the opponent's throat and using your own leg as a means of tightening the hold, leg over the traps not unlike a Stretch Muffler in pro-wrestling.
