Crane operates well. I am so high, that I finally made this project.
My back told me 'thank you' :D
I won't write volubly about this project because it seems to me that everything is shown in the video. However if you have questions for me, write them in the comment. I'll try to rise to them as soon as possible. As always there is a few things which may have been improved. Maybe, I will improve them in the future :)

  • Project really nice and useful, congratulations! The only thing that I would modify is the position of the gearbox-winch: to reduce the overall dimensions I would place it between the support frame and the vertical mast of the crane. in all cases, congratulations again!

  • great work, love it. makes me want to modify my engine crane and bolt on a 12v winch. maybe try welding ( tacking to test out position for best location when wire cable is tight) a bit of tube just before the pulley so that the wire cable stays inline so you wont need the counter weight ?

  • I like the use of the 100:1 ration box for a cable crane. That its a cool use for that, great integration. But honestly I'd think this entire comment section didn't know that this is a standard folding "shop crane" engine hoist design thats been available retail for years. It just has a hydraulic piston on it instead of a drill motor and no cable.
