    • I was born in 1966, I have seen so many great things in sports. Muhammed Ali, Triple Crown winner, Cubs winning, Bears winning, the Packers going from a bad team in the 80s to decades of dominance, tennis legends like John, Jimmy, Andre, Steffi, Pete who held records that could never be broken, to then have Venus and Serena, Roger, Rafa, and Djoker show up to challenge / eclipse them, and Andy show up to give the UK a champion again. I have been here to witness Jack Nicklaus and Tiger, Michael and the dominance of the Bulls, Kareem, Larry, Wilt, ... then into today with LeBron, Kobe, Kevin, ..., Wayne Gretzky, Michael Phelps, Pele Santos, Beckham, etc. To all the great names I did not include, it is not because you were not seen, it is because the time I have been alive has so many of you, thanks for the years of greatness. And to all the events that aren't sports related, the changes since 1966 are unbelievable. Edit: I had to edit this to include the Miracle on Ice...

Without the minimum, from best season to Rodgers's 6th best, the list is: Brady, Foles, McCown, Rodgers, Huard, Rodgers, Rodgers, Brady, Rodgers, Rodgers, Brees, Rodgers. Brady played all 16 games in 2010, and would still be 4th on the list unless you pretend that season didn't happen. 6 out of 12 or 6 out of 7 are both mind boggling though.

    • Oh Geez! Yet another AR apologist! NFL WRs are covered by NFL DBs and the better the team the better the DBs. AR doesn't like to throw into tight coverage because it puts him at greater risk of throwing an interception. That's why AR only throws 3-6 interceptions a year. AR's cautious strategy has him on the verge of his 4th MVP and he'll be a first ballot HOFer. It's also part of the reason he's 1-4 in NFC title games. AR takes sacks in critical moments because he takes too much time looking for the wide open receiver. AR is great for going 50 yards in 45 seconds but he has struggled to put together efficient clock killing drives over the course of his career. AR's inability to lead clock killing drives is a little known reason why the Packers have traditionally let opposing teams back into games they had no business being in. I've seen AR lead many a 3 and out in the 4th quarter when the Packers have led by 2 or 3 scores.

      @taylornox@taylornox2 жыл бұрын
    • @@taylornox Just, no... Brady "consistently wins" because he is consistently on a far better team than Rodgers. Brady has a better playoff win percentage when he throws 3 INTs, than Rodgers has when he throws 3 TDs. Just look at last year's NFC Championship Game, the Packers had a horrible defense and an even worse defensive coach (Mike Pettine), got 0 pressure on Brady all night and left Kevin King on an island multiple times to get burned. The Bucs, however, had an elite defense, got away with defensive PI and holding on nearly every play (none more blatant than on Rodgers' lone INT throw), and still this is how the stats panned out: Brady - 55% completions, 280 yards, 3 TDs, 3 INTs, 73.9 Passer Rating Rodgers - 70% completions, 350 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT, 101.6 Passer Rating How you can look at the disparity between the two defenses, then the disparity between the two QBs' performances, and somehow come to the conclusion that Brady was better and Rodgers "choked", I will never know.

  • It's kind of crazy to see how the Packers' offense has developed over the past 3 years. I think of the 2011 Packers when we trounced teams and then got put away in the playoffs - would that have happened if we didn't overuse our offense in games we had already won? the season wears you down, especially with 17 games. I think this year we evenly distributed the work, so nobody's too overworked by the end. We have guys coming back fresh too. • That play by Rodgers and Adams at 6:45 was beautiful and just unstoppable. Ramsey reads it perfectly, blowing up the play but Rodgers and Adams know Ramsey is the best at blowing up WR screens and made decisions earlier to use that to their advantage if the situation ever came up. You know they talked about it sometime earlier in the game, if Ramsey takes outside leverage on the bubble screen then just fake it and jab inside to use his leverage against him. That duo is just always a step ahead of everyone else.

    • And Super Bowl wins are TEAM wins. I don't care how good your QB is if he doesn't have a good team to back him he can't win. Trent Dilfer won a SB. Is he better than Dan Marino? AR can't get back to a SB because the Packers defense just isn't good enough. AR is a better QB than Brady. Brady has been on better TEAMS. Not to mention he has been with one of the best coaches. And then Brady won a SB with Tampa. Tampa had loads of talent before Brady got there. That's why he went there. It's not like he went to a crap team and took them to a SB. Defense wins championships. Brady plays offense.

  • “Will this be the year?” As a Packers fan, judging by the last performances of the last 10 years, where they’ve been objectively the best time in the NFC and possibly the league, like, 5 times… no, we’ll blow it somehow. Someone will fumble the ball. Rodgers will throw an uncharacteristic pick. Special teams will give up a runback for 6. The defense will blow a coverage or get gashed on the run. I hope I’m wrong, but if I were a betting man, I’d be on not the Packers making it to the SB this year.

      @Dustomatic@Dustomatic2 жыл бұрын
    • @@Dustomatic I remember! While it certainly wasn't his best year it wasn't a horrible year either. Just bad for his standards. That year he had 25 TD's, 2 or 4 INT's, 62% and 4300 yards with a rating of 97. Which is actually decent but compared to his other seasons (when healthy) it was a decline. Especially the TD number and competition percentage. But you could argue a large part of that was that Greenbay had very little talent and the offense mike ran wasn't helping. There were more factors into play for his lowered numbers that year. Arron had just come back from his injury. The team wasn't completely rebuilding but they were kind of lost and Mike was not doing a good job at the offense. A good amount of the good players that Greenbay has right now were young or not in greenbay. The Defense was not any better than it is today's so they lost most of the close games. Aaron definitely wasn't his best that year. But it wasn't like he was the sole reason they had a bad record that year. In 2019 he basically had the same stats as in 2018. The media and people didn't make a big deal because they won the close games and he was in a new system. To be fair he was more efficient in 2019 in the red zone and on his throws. I think the reason for the"decline" and then resurgence is the adjustments he had to make after the 2017 injury and new coach. Everything plays a part but I think the adjusting to those two things is what made his play lower than previous years.
