That first week with a puppy is definitely overwhelming 😂 We have two dogs & are picking up another (our 2nd mini dachshund) on Saturday. I’m sure you’ve figured it out by now/other people have said but puppy pads are so confusing for pups, especially in their crates. It’s basically just teaching them that they can toilet inside/in their bed. We used them with our first dog but soon found that taking him out to the garden every half hour or so worked so much better x

Get ready... daschunds are so sweet and smart and adorable. Patience is required when potty training. Don’t give up and I highly recommend crate training. I have had 3 doxies in my life and the only success I have had is using a crate to house train. Blankets are also a MUST FOR DASCHUNDS!!! Good luck & Congrats. Your life will never be the same!!!!! EEK I wouldn’t soften his food. If food is soggy poop comes out runny. Doxies are pigs and will adjust to whatever food goes in their mouth;)

oh my gosh he’s so gorgeous 😍🥰🥰🥰 i’ve had 2 dachshunds before, 1 mini and 1 double mini my only advice is please be wary of their backs!! try not to let him jump off sofa/beds etc as it can really damage their backs and may need operations in the future because of it☹️ but i’m so happy i found this channel i’m obsessed already 🥰🥰😍😍

we got our mini dachshund a week ago! he is such a cute little baby! the potty traiming goes so well. but the biting is soooo annoying :D also he cries a lot when he is left alone in the room, so we are taking baby steps with the crate traning. if anyone has any advice, please hit me ^^

Breeders get bad reps from those who abuse the breeding process and shaming people for buying instead of rescuing is so messed up. We purchased our golden from a great breeder that know how to safely and legally do it the humane way. Rescues can be aggressive and a lot more work and it's not for everyone so I totally understand you having to clarify unfortunately people are so quick to judge

Why is he sleeping in a cage ? Until he is used to his surroundings, The first few nights he should sleep with you and then he should be encouraged to sleep in his cot … by the third night he (and you) should be ok ! Puppy’s are like babies but within a week or two they can pretty much look after themselves!
