What I find slightly funnier than the joke is that people are angry about the joke. Although one might wonder if there are actually a large group of humans who are genuinely upset, or this whole thing is a media fabrication used for - what Stuttering John would describe as - "nefarious" purposes...

    • and that's relevant because? Public and private conversations have completely different consequences, because the jokes you make with your friends are calculated not to be about anything that would cause them actual harm. whereas a public joke could end in anyone's ears, and if it's a tough subject it could make anyone relive a traumatic experience. I'm not saying that's what he did here, but public and private jokes are simply not comparable.

  • He even says “Just testing the waters” knowing what he said, even though he’s joking, may be taken the wrong way by people not seeing the context of a super dark joke. He’s a comedian and should be allowed to push stuff that people may seem dark or off putting. He’s not running for public office or asking if he can look after your kids. It was a dark joke. That’s all. Toughen up.

  • That was one of the tamest jokes I’ve ever heard coming from a supposedly “edgy” comedian. People are just looking for something to whine about and someone to cancel. The leftards have grown so pathetic, weak, and entitled it’s almost surreal. In the near future, there will be some serious push back against this nonsense as people are truly getting fed up. The silent, hard working, majority of Americans will make THEIR voices heard and I can’t wait to watch the show.

      @thesoundoffear85@thesoundoffear855 ай бұрын
    • Sorry but i dont think you quite understand. I will explain it so it makes more sense, cuzz its logic your first thought might go there. The thing is, there are many more "edgy comedians" who make way more vile jokes, racist and sexist. The point is, that audience seeks out those comedians, if you like those jokes you go to a comedian like this. you'll see they wont get cancelled. You get what you came for. What happened with matt is the fact that he built his whole career on jokes for women, you will see that his whole audience was women, all of his jokes were made to make these women laugh, he talked with them and was flirting A LOT with them. Now what matt did, he was kinda over the fact that his whole audience was female, he wanted a more diverse audience and was done with the whole women thing. Which is something that can happen but again, he played into this from the start of his career. To get rid of the female audience he made a joke that was attacking women, and anti female. A kind of joke you could get away with it that would have been your humour the whole time as a comedian, and if that were the jokes the audience came for. But ofc this wasnt the case and instead he happened to attack his whole audience in one joke, this wasnt why they were here, he turned on his own fans and audience just to get a different reputation. It basically comes down to the fact that he just didnt actually know his audience, the reason he was famous to begin with. I hope this explains why he is being cancelled, it was not people being snow flakes, it was him being a terrible businessman and being so stuck up and ungrateful that he turned on his own fans and audience. Again, if a comedian would be making those kind of jokes and made his name with that, no problem, people would see that person specifically for those kind of jokes. Thats sadly for matt rifes not the case tho. He was just stupid and stuck up thinking he would get away with it.

It was a dark joke and I get that people took it the wrong way but they didn’t see the context of the joke. He’s a Comedian and he should be allowed to say dark jokes without people hating on him or trying to cancel him or make everyone turn against him. He doesn’t mean any of the stuff he says it’s not personal or anything. He’s even said that it’s all for fun purposes to make people laugh and to make light of a situation and he just wants to create a positive and fun atmosphere for the people who are watching him. I love Matt so much he’s my favorite comedian he’s really funny and I know a lot of people are saying that he isn’t but he really is you just gotta really understand and listen to the joke. And being a Comedian is really hard to do we should be appreciative of the people who do this work. They deserve praise and respect for what they do. I love watching Matt’s comedy shows I think people should focus more on his humor and his personality more then just his looks because that’s not all he’s about there’s more to Matt then his looks. And the fact that that’s all girls pay attention to is sad they’re really missing out on a fun show. Because I think Matt is good looking too but that’s not all I focus on I think he’s extremely talented and hilarious. • As a kid I grew up listening to some wild shit. My family’s friends had the gas stations/restaurant/auto garage/Video store. We got to see the screeners early too. Parts of the videos would shift to black & white and a big disclaimer rolling across the screens. Lmao I remember going to first grade and getting in trouble for telling a Classmate “I get to go macdonalds but you-ou-u don’t cuz you broke and yo momma got that welfare.” Pretty sure I added in some bits and pieces of the rest of Mruphy’s routine from Raw. We only had whites and Native American kids or some mix of the two. But at that time I didn’t know what most of what I said was. Shit we didn’t get McDonald’s either. My poor principal did his damndest to keep his composure while talking to my parents. So ironic how Eddie Murphy, Robin Williams, Bob Saget and so many went on to play loving TV dads such as Danny Tanner, Mrs. Doubtfire, and even Daddy Day Care. Those comedy great has some raaauuchhing shit lol. So much of what people forget is these comedy folks are simply playing a role. A part or a gig to pay the bills or help get that big break. It’s really no different than them playing a serial killer in a movie. That’s not the real them. It’s a part, a role, a piece of a thought/art to be shared with others through the expression of arts and entertainment. Watched Matt Rife’s interview with Jordan Peterson and enjoyed it. I gained a lot of respect for him and his career. (And Jordan Peterson) I hope Rufe continues to seek and find success He is not the simpleton a lot of people try to say he is. He’s quite a deep thinker and understands the actual attraction of comedy to people (the audience) and of people to comedy. (Comedians.) For most like me, comedy is a respite from all the bullshit that actually drags us down. Laughter is really good medicine. Keep at it young man!
