This is the new Porsche Mission X and it's first hypercar. Porsche is yet to decide whether to put this new hypercar into production and would be the successor for the 918 Spyder! It will have more power than it's own weight.

The look of the 918 ( IMO ) is just so magnificent looking! But holy crap that Mission X is one of the most fantastic cars I have ever seen in my life!

@@fyfyi6053 the 959 is the fist porsche Hypercar: The Porsche 959 was equipped with the most advanced all-wheel drive system of the moment. Called PSK (Porsche-Steuer Kupplung) it was capable of automatically distributing torque between the front and rear axle. Instead of using a complex center differential, it used a set of electronically controlled, hydraulically actuated multi-disc clutches. Fully automatically - without the need for traction loss - it was capable of sending up to 80% of the power to the rear axle, with the distribution always favorable to the rear axle.Under normal conditions, 50% of the power was transmitted to each axis. The power distribution of the PSK system varied in real time, based on steering angle, throttle position or selected driving mode - yes, the Porsche 959 had driving modes, which are becoming more widespread today. Based on the experience in the Porsche 959 - which was tremendously effective on any surface and in any situation - Porsche would begin to mount all-wheel drive systems in other vehicles. The Porsche 959 had adaptive suspension... in 1986. A technology that is still considered innovative and complex today, it was standard in a Porsche before a server was born. The suspension of the Porsche 959 had three possible heights, which left a space of 12, 15 or 18 cm free to the ground. It also had three possible hardnesses, selected at the will of the driver. Now, whatever the driver's wishes were, from 160 km/h, the suspension did not exceed 12 centimeters. His special tires were runflat,it was rare for a manufacturer to marry a single tire manufacturer in those days. Porsche teamed up with Bridgestone, which developed the RE71 Denloc exclusively for the Porsche 959. It was the first road car to equip runflat-type tires, which were mounted in a special concavity designed specifically for the german supercar's very light magnesium rims.It should therefore come as no surprise that the Porsche 959 was the first production car to have tire pressure sensors mounted on its rims. Instead of developing an engine from scratch, Porsche took advantage of its motorsport experience to develop a high-performance engine based on the six-cylinder boxer launched by the Porsche 956, also used by the Porsche 962 in competition. It would be equipped with two KKK turbochargers in parallel, a very novel configuration then, alien in a street vehicle. The result was that the multi-valve block with Bosch electronic injection developed a whopping 450 hp from just 2,849 cc. The Porsche 959 was the first road-going Porsche - with a boxer engine - to use a water-cooled engine, as much as it pains the purists. Its propellant generated so much heat that it was impossible to use a traditional air-cooling system without compromising its ultimate power or reliability. It would take 10 more years for water-cooled engines to become the norm at Porsche, with the launch of the Porsche 911 996. Porsche has always been a conservative company with the pervasiveness of technological advances.

Can’t wait to see how the actual production car would look now. I honestly hope they will do some sort of oval/ round headlights that just “belongs” to Porsche and you can’t ever say that they are outdated! I think they can just integrate cool inner part inside those lights. Beautiful job Porsche! Blondie thanks for showing some of the details!

As a poor man at 66 I'm still driving my ancient Porsche. Love it and it is bullit proof. How on earth they always go to such a next level is beyond me.

@@DevKumar-bi2ldI feel like Porsche, at least in regards to their used cars, are the most affordable luxury/sports cars. I've seen and known several people who weren't even well off own them, compared to never seeing someone who wasn't rich in a Lamborghini or Ferrari. I also think their design philosophy holds well, so you can still look cool and wealthy to people who don't know about Porsches

@supercarblondie, very small point. get your cameraman to change his camera shutter speed to get rid of the flashing (he is too close to the edge of the display's speed which is why it is phasing). Also, change lenses. You can get wider shots for wide taking in of info and use the higher lens to focus on detail. And why not use transitions? So much more could be done. Tech over. Great review SB! Bravo.

Love the styling and features and its connection to the 917. I hope the final hyper car gets more 917 features including the high revving flat 12 naturally aspirated engine as a last send off of the naturally aspirate era!!! This will make the car the most desired of all hyper cars!!!!! There is plenty of time in future to make an all electric hyper car.

Wonderful Porsche Mission X, I like the LeMans style design. I like the steering wheel, dashboard and clock.
Porsche knocked it out of the park with this concept. Let's hope it is a reality soon. Love the rear of this monster. Headlights, I'm a little yeah or nay. They look great but hard to say goodbye to the iconic headlinghts on Porsche vehicles. Thanks Blondie for this reveal.
That's the coolest car / concept right now and showing a bright future and its real, its driveable. Should be based on the Mission R and fully function on a race track already, that's next real over next level. Its 90% production ready and foreshadows also the upcoming EV Boxter (How ever they will call it).

I am curious to how this car would perform on Nurburgring. The 918 Spider ate it for breakfast. Still holds the record. It really is competition for the Chiron, and Hennessey Venom F5.
Fastest Car at Nurburgring is the AMG One. Bugatti is built for top end. Porsche always builds great cars, can't wait to see it on track.

Insanely ugly
I really like a lot of this supercar's design! Some things I wish they kept are the rounded headlight design - it seems like a key design feature for a Porsche to be a Porsche; and the rear cylinder bumps that the Carrera and 918 had (not sure what they're called). The wheels could definitely get a redesign, but the rear wheel functionality is pretty neat.

She is SCB and the channel is named after her. I would prefer that all the reviews were done by her. Great attitude, great look etc. She could have reviews done by other people on a SEPARATE channel. That would be my suggestion, personally (not everyone would necessarily agree with me).

The First Porsche Hypercar? Pretty sure the 918 helped “define” the hyper car category…. The mission X is pretty wild for sure! However, when the 918 was first released in prototype form it was also very wild for the time, and still is pretty wild.

Even top gear didn't get this much opportunity when they reviewed it in person. So she actually was the first non employee to drive the car that we're all hoping makes it to production. Wow!!!

Be mindful, all sales, performance, reliability, customer satisfaction data is public info so I’m going to have to challenge your response from all those factors cuz I feel very strongly that Porsche is that far advance.
@@x32i77 Rimac and Koenigsegg are not serial production car companies, Porsche would drown them if they entered that space. Porsche considers them a spec on the wall. This is because all their innovation is for limited run. If they had to mass produce cars, they would go out of business. Example: Bugatti before being bought. The car business is a sensitive balance. I’m sure you are aware of the number of once thriving car companies that no longer exist or have to borrow parts and technology etc….Porsche is all in-house.

959 is a supercar originally designed for rally use. Carrera GT is a supercar designed 10 years later to show off the potential of Porsche. 918 is a hypercar designed 10 years after the CGT to prove Hybrids are cool. This Mission X is a hypercar revealed 10 years after the 918 to show Porsche’s goal of Electric Performance.

The back looks really nice, the wheels are horrific, Interior is nice, The whole Porsche rear badge should pulsate blue, not just the E. Or even pulsate left to right like nightrider but in blue. When its only the E that lights up it looks like a 2 million pound car with 6 broken bulbs. Love the back rear light in the window, im on the fence with the front arches, really not sure if it spoils the look.

The Mission X looks the part let`s see it on a track doing what porsche does also what is it like on the road? will it come into production i can see it it`s a head turner no doubt. Great video.
