I'm visiting Automobilzentrum Rhein-Neckar in Viernheim Germany where they have a $50m luxury car collection. The owner Omid is challenging me with a Bugatti Chiron to take it through a Burger King drive-through.

  • We underestimate the fact that banks are corporate entities also governed by greed. Since 2020, the banks have been over-leveraging their assets, which was one of the reasons for SVB's implosion. I have never been okay with keeping much money in the bank. I simply invest through my financial advisor, collect my profits, which I then spend.

    • I'm really worried about the current bank crisis. If a bank as big as SVB could fail, I fear for a lot more. I know a friend who is running a high-growth startup, and was badly hit by the bank run. I have pulled out more than $340k from my bank. After all, the FDIC covers only up to $250,000, and the implosion could have bad effect. Looking to invest into the stock market now. Does anyone know how I could go about it?

    • I have learned not to trust corporations. I was badly hit by the '08 financial crisis. Since 2019, I've just been focused on investing through a financial advisor, and it has been paying off, and I'm never going back to banks full time

  • I've never been in a luxurious car store before but this reminds me of the one time I was visiting a friend who lives in a wealthy neighborhood in Germany (technically, he lives in one of his father's apartments). All the rich people who own fancy cars park them in private garages they are members of. I must have spent 30 minutes walking around that garage! Never seen as many Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Masseratis, etc all in one place! There were at least 5 levels and there was nothing cheaper than a Mercedes.

  • What’s sad sometimes is seeing people walk in our dealership who we know work hard, and who we can tell have earned every bit of what they have and deserve to be an owner, and they’re so shocked and nervous to find out they do in fact belong in this world of elevated living. They’re usually really humble and really kind to others, and still they may feel like they don’t deserve to be there even though they really do. You can tell they’ve been through a lot. They’re extremely rare. But umm, for obvious reasons, those are our preferred clients. They really embody the spirit of what we do. Those are the ones we wanna keep providing services to. And we don’t care if they’re women.

  • Trust me, giving me a “headphone user” warning is nothing. I listen to EDM (mostly dubstep) with or without my headphones on and at max volume. The engine roaring from the Aventador SVJ is nothing compared to dubstep at max volume.
