  • This is a really great series. DIY is one thing, but learning to do it yourself properly is what really saves you time and money - and also gives you the confidence to go to serious places knowing that you can rely your vehicle to go the distance and get you home again.

  • Hi Team, Do you know if Aisin still make genuine, brand new free wheeling hubs? Thanks.

  • Great set of videos but I do have one question do you offer this in a complete kit. I have the axle already and want to rebuild it.

    @KnifeHandWoodDesign@KnifeHandWoodDesign8 жыл бұрын
    • +mespenschied Yes, we do have a complete kit. It is called the "Toyota Ultimate Front Axle Knuckle Rebuild Kit with Bearings". However, I looked it up on our website and noticed that is on back order. But, If you go to the link provided below you can most likely find everything you need on a "part-by-part" basis. If you have further questions, I suggest that you call 801-805-6644 Mon-Fri 8-5:00pm MST and ask for a sales/tech support person named Nick. He is "The Man" when it comes to these axles and would be happy to assist you and answer any questions you may have. • installed RCVs and they're gundrilled for easy greasing in the future, so the hole where you screw in the M8 bolt has a zerk fitting. Do you have a technique for pulling the birf out without the bolt? i know removing the zerk temporarily is an option, just rather avoid if possible. great video series btw its been extremely helpful

    @surfluxx9195@surfluxx91953 жыл бұрын
    • The birf will slide easily, so not much pull pressure is needed. Because of this, it would be safe to wrap a bit of shop towel or similar around the end to protect the splines while you pull the birf end gently out with a pliers.

  • Is that axle just covered the black paint you used in part 2 or did you put something else over it? It looks great. If you need a Samurai axle to rebuild for the video, you can borrow mine, already have the rebuild kit and truss.

    • +Loring Giles Nope! Same paint job. We did apply several coats however.

    • +Loring Giles We don't have immediate plans to do a video on the Samurai front axle but will keep your offer in mind. In the mean time you might find these instructions helpful. • I don't understand the purpose of the 14MM screw being installed...from the video, it serves no purpose. I thought at the 3:20 mark, the original OEM screw and washer goes where that 14mm was installed at the 1:20 mark (and removed later) as a added safety measure....??

    @Fishhunter007@Fishhunter0077 жыл бұрын
    • The 14mm screw was to pull on the shaft so that the cir-clip can be installed. There is play in the shaft and if you don't pull it fully out you wont get the clip in. Hope this helps.

      @harveysmith100@harveysmith1006 жыл бұрын
    • @@harveysmith100 On the Toyota Automatic hubs there is a bolt and washer installed in that location and in many write ups it says to reuse the bolt with no mention of the snap ring [none on the auto hubs]. I installed mine that way and have had no issues.

      @Gabriel-nd3fo@Gabriel-nd3fo5 жыл бұрын
    • In the video he removes the pull bolt too soon... should leave it in until the hub body nuts are tightened down, then pull it out to put the c-clip on, then remove the pull bolt once c-clip is in place.
