I live in Málaga. For the last week or more, we’ve had hellacious wind, which in itself is difficult but additionally, it covers the roads in dust, grit and all sorts of slippery shit. So these guys are very wise to give each other a lot of room. We’ve also had several calimas, red dust storms from the Sahara, that have covered all of Andalucía, most of Spain and a lot of southern Europe in red clay dust; buildings, streets and wind turbines.
I have an explanation for the filthy wind turbine. Looks like a GE turbine (or a very similar design). Unlike most turbines (that have a fibreglass shroud over the nose cone) the blade pitch bearing seals are exposed (bearing is auto-greased with a pump and purges grease) and can only be accessed to be cleaned by abseil. Most turbines (i.e. Vestas) you can climb into the nose cone to wipe the seals. Source: I've spent a couple of months scraping grease off GE turbines in Australia so they don't end up like that.
Over the last year we’ve had several calimas, dust storms from the Sahara, that have covered everything in Andalucía with red clay dust. It sticks to everything. But combined with leaking lubricants, it turns into a black mess….
@@tomseiler2408 Interesting! That would explain why it's so bad. A tough combination. I don't envy the guys who will have to clean it up.
bad design if you ask me, leaking grease into the enviroment is a bit anti green eh?
@@VN-je7rf Definitely an oversight. That design also means that the maintenance guys are exposed to a fall potential (clipped on in a harness) when they need to access the hub to work on the pitch motors. You have to climb out of the nacelle, step across the void and through a hatch in the hub rather than just climbing through safely from inside. Not all engineers are created equal!

You know its a steep final climb when the sidewalk is a staircase. Thanks for this commentary. One of those days when the wind really did make a difference in that it made catching the breakaway group nigh on impossible.
I think the breakaway could have been caught yesterday (especially with the crosswinds) but there were just so many teams represented that no one was gonna pace in the peloton. I read only two teams missed the break and none of those teams are strong enough to bring back a large break that strong.

Almost choked on my lunch watching this, best analysis ever. Channeling LRCP, could say that turbine is washed up. Or just needs a wash. With the bull felt like we were about to get a De Lie ref, but to paraphrase Benji, clearly the black bull is just a b-tech version of the brown bull.

UAE switching from Campagnolo Super Record EPS cranks to 2 piece Shimano Dura Ace cranks gotta help Pogacar a lot to win the Tour the France. Edit: Campy's also a 2 piece crankset but it's split at the middle of the shaft = loss in watts compared to 2 piece Shimano hollowtech cranks.

jersey was for bread :) ...love creative culture ....jokes....great season ahead so many matchups between superstars on all sorts off terrain so spoiled an I love it as fan. roglic wins tour tadej races vuelta has reat matchup with remco etc ayuso wont like it but if he doesnt win tour too talented not to win gt think primoz overdue like messi in world cup. he deserves it and team is best by margin imo well oiled machine. Only a unshakeable tadej could affect but even then that but jumbo has such chemistry and dvb running pace before wout what a squad unbeatable if healthy. gracias for recap going to be great season after watching cross races. superhuman efforts and even more impressive handling/skill

@@helvettefaensatan That's definitely grease my friend. That style of turbine has exposed blade bearing seals that can only be reached via abseil. The bearing constantly purges grease (pump feed). Poor design.
