  • This is an ironic video for I just failed at playing the air slot catastrophically 20min ago. We need more of this kinda content to help players. Thanks man. Its appreciated.

  • I disagree... clearly going T3 navy first, then start with 5 aircraft carriers and immediately proceed to mass T1 intes to counter their asf is the best option.

  • good thing you mention that you need to adjust your play towards your team - eg. wether they build inties, wether you are forced to help front with bombers or have a good opportunity for early snipe or you have to micro heavily with your acu which will tax the apm of your eco, i've met far too many air players that ignored everything and got the game lost before they had chance to use their t3

  • Nice explanation. I'm not great on air myself so this is quite helpful. I think I focus too much on upping my mass past what I need to get to T3 when I play, which does help me later on but means I'm late on getting in the ASF in the air and can let some painful strat runs through. Though I would add the caveat that its much easier to do this in the vid when you can focus 100% of your attention on managing your builds. It's a bit harder when you have to babysit your commander to make sure he doesn't die on the front line, and your team mates are yelling at you to scout again since all your initial ones got shot down after 2 seconds.

    @DSzaks@DSzaks Жыл бұрын
    • personally think pre t3 its not your job to scout for your team as air player

      @carlod5818@carlod5818 Жыл бұрын
    • Definitely play within your skill level. If you can manage your commander on the front line, you should. Even if it's something as simple as just assisting with an upgrade. Often times just showing your com up there will show the enemy team they're outnumbered in terms of coms and they won't be as aggressive. If you don't have the ability to control your com and upgrade, then definitely focus on just air, but I'd encourage you to push yourself and try it. That's how we get better as players :D.

  • At ~8:00 you mention laying out t2 pgens based off of your air grid, but once you have 2 t3 pgens you can reclaim all your t1 and t2. Basically Unless you're keeping them for adjacency bonuses, or for t3 mass fab fields, its generally not worth it. So using this build as an examples you have 19 t1 pgens making 380 power, worth 1425 mass, and 2 t2 pgens making 1k power worth 2400 mass. Your power infrastructure is worth 3825 mass. A T3 pgen is 3240 mass, and ASF are 400. Not to mention the fact that its just wasted space preventing you from shielding or maybe having your air grid where you want it. Basically, trading potentially high explosives sitting in your base for a free t3 pgen, or your first 10 asf is an easy choice, but I don't think most players know the math and they think the extra power is worth it.

    @blankexample3496@blankexample3496 Жыл бұрын
    • Oh yeah you absolutely reclaim those (I normally forget), but in my opinion, the best time to do that is after your 3rd T3 pgen, but I might be off on that timing.

  • As a team game player the best thing about air is how little mass ASF cost, I like to invest the extra mass into ras coms and get a super eco lead. While transitioning into arty and t4s

    @Flanktank2@Flanktank2 Жыл бұрын
    • they cost a t2 gunship there are not cheap and a shit load of power 1.2k power second

      @skoub3466@skoub3466 Жыл бұрын
    • @@skoub3466 Yes they do cost a lot of power but 1/3.5x the mass of a percival/brick. 100 ASF are still cheaper mass than one crab.

      @Flanktank2@Flanktank2 Жыл бұрын
    • @@skoub3466 also if you do air grids they reduce the e by 20% per pgen if i remember correctly so that power cost is offset quite a bit

    • I would suggest go and play FAF multiplayer, it will help immensely, yeah you will suck at the beginning but you will learn how to WIN against other humans, rather than simply PLAY against bots

  • Nice! It would be great to see your take on the RAS version of the T3 air builds.

    @Vantlor@Vantlor Жыл бұрын
    • Ras version of T3 air build? Do you mean immediately finishing RAS after the first T3 pgen to avoid needing a secondary T3 pgen for another fac?

      @hotsoup9726@hotsoup9726 Жыл бұрын
    • @@hotsoup9726 all variations really. RAS first, after first T3 pgen, ARAS, different faction energy output etc. I've generally found it better to RAS, and usually follow with ARAS before T3 pgen in team games with shared E overflow. Plus you get mass too!

      @Vantlor@Vantlor Жыл бұрын
    • @@Vantlor It's usually better to do a T3 pgen first imo, cause the cost of energy for RAS is way more than of a T3 pgen.

      @Regal_Eagle@Regal_Eagle Жыл бұрын
    • I would think it would take much longer to get RAS (without assisting it) (because you'd E stall your ass off) then it would be to just get a second Pgen and then casually have your com upgrade to ras or ARAS after the second pgen.

  • thanks for that my idea for a tech vid: compare buildpower to there mass and tech efficiency the good old question are candels or cybran drone tower worth the mass Investment or do we use aka 20 Tech 1 engies for that what about the buildpower behind SACU via there mass costs in compere to tech 3 engies

  • Early strats are nice when they are able to be pulled off, but I personally don't think the risk is worth the investment. Your job as the air player is to gain and keep air dominance, and while ground/naval players would love to have an eco advantage over their enemy, that advantage wouldn't last long if your opposite got more ASF out than you...
