I feel bad that I'm a slow forged alliance player. I don't have that micro manage skill to spam out armies as quick as most people do. A "short" game for me is 2 - 3 hours, whereby I do nothing but turtle until my defences and resources are strong enough for an experimental spam

That should get you killed pretty quickly by any capable player during the expansion phase though. Because most people go heavy artillery or air once they see players turtle early while denying them any mass on the map.

you don't need good micro in Supreme Commander to fare well. You just need to spend 15 minutes for a build order that brings you through the first 4 minutes of the game.

Well the genre isn't very welcoming to fast pace gamers, and the graphics isn't appealing enough. Then there are the lengthy youtube videos scaring potential players away.

@@Beowulf-eg2li this game has a dedicated following for sure, but I feel like it's almost too evolved for it's own good. The graphics are/used to be hard on most computers. Then you throw in the rather steep learning curve while going through campaign only to get hit by another learning curve if you play forged alliance forever. Will always be my favorite though. I wish we could get a 2020 version of this game, cleaned up a little so it runs better with a little bit better graphics.

Shield dome sACUs have a shield with almost double the health of a fatboy health and shields, I recommend escorting them with one if possible to improve their survivability immensely.

There's one sneaky use for Stinger, you didn't mention. Stingers can carry MML's, and yes, so can transports, but having them on Stingers also distribute's the damage. So even if you get hit with ASF, the damage is spread across all of the Stinger's instead of just focused on one transport. Sneaky since you can drop the MML's and have two anti-mex raids in one group. Or set them down and have them shoot at AA and open a path for the Stingers.

True but those don't give me the ability to drop off and slam down shields. MML's smash shields, and Stinger's pop the generators.

you forgot the t1 bomber, good combo of aoe and damage, the t2 f/b is shite :/ it removes the t2 airsniping ability other factions has.. the early shoulder drones are essential as well, you can use them on fields of isis to snag the majority of the reclaim before the commander can come in, after you got the majority of the reclaim you push it to the back of their base and make factories to produce labs just because radar lacks still in that stage

indeed, if you dont use uef because of low dropspeed of the bombs, seraphim and cybran are the best in my opinion, cybran always fires and has a widespread while seraphim has high damage (1.5k ish)

maarten te grotenhuis the damage of the notha is 1200 but they have the same aoe (if not lower) that the t1 bomber has. The damage on the corsair is 1200 too but unless the target is large enough the target only receives 1050-1150 (when they aren't microing)

Janus - best blanket damage, worst single target. Notha- best single target damage, worst blanket and easiest to dodge. Corsair - the best of both... Good damage that is hard to dodge, just enough AOE to make it good at killing engines and spam, and delivers 100% payload to a t2 pgen sized building (which is the most valuable target at that stage). Also, the UEF bomber is a t1 bomber, nothing better or worse than the other factions have. I just didn't think it was worth singling out for mention.

Spear head is the perfect turtle weapon. For same mass you get 6 times more dps than from t3 arty. T3 arty has to stand to shoot and missles kill it at that point Combined with ravagers it wrecks bases even better than ravager itself leaving using pds as a defence from possible mobile units. Combined with percivals it takes out defences and lies huge amount of damage on standing units. It is cheaper, which allows to easier spread it for multiple percy forces, tankier and shoots while moves, which makes it far better choice in this combination too.

All the factions are pretty closely balanced, but if any can be called turtly, it would be UEF

is there any way to play with the faf client against AI's? Im a new player and I really need excercise against AI's before being able to play against other ppl. But I would like to have the FAF mods...

Just host up a game, perhaps with the password lock on so people can't join, and select slots in the player list to add an AI. FAF comes with normal and sorian AI built in, no need for mods.

I'm saddened of the fact that a large portion of these units got nerfed. Percy nerf, ACU shield nerf, SACU shield nerf, T2 static shield nerf, Ravager nerf, Spearhead nerf, Titan nerf. Etc. Etc. A few buffs here and there but, not as good as before. :/

I may have found a fatboy combo to get the t2 arty problem out of the way. Just put t2 military engineers and radar jammers should make it thougher against arty.

Um.... I have seen blazes kill titans and there were 4-8 blazes and 3-5 titans.... so titans can't really kill t2 that effectively.

Titans are essentially t3 LABs, where enemy t1 spam are engies and you have to make sure that you don't get too close and "reclaimed". Most of the time a waste of build time for a factory.

As UEF you really don't want to be building t3 units to deal with t2 or t1, they're not designed for that. You've already got an excellent t1 bomber that can trash t1 armies very quickly and some of the best t1 and t2 bots and tanks available to counter. If you're playing Cybran then sure, you can use loyalists because their high RoF makes mincemeat of t1 and t2 and they're actually useful additions to an army of bricks but they're the exception to the rule.
