  • Great video, but the title is MISLEADING. no need to mislead. Many people will watch the video anyway, as Gregory Himes was beloved by many.

    • Agreed. The title is deceiving and completely unnecessary. I enjoyed the many accomplishments of Gregory Hines noted in this video. I remain a fan. I heard The Hines Bros mentioned but, they were also known as Hines, Hines & Dad.

  • I met him one night in a high-end L.A. restaurant. On my way to the restroom, I see Oliver Stone at a table to my right, who looked up and nodded. On my way out and going back to my table, Greg Hines was dining at a table/booth on my right. Our eyes met. He was having dinner with a woman, and I stopped dead in my tracks at his table. He looked up and smiled, knowing I recognized him, and he shook my hand. I think we extended hands simultaneously. I can easily recall the feel of that genuine handshake. I told him I admired his work so much and started to move back to my table. He introduced me to the woman he was dining with, and my girlfriend was sitting at our table, agape at seeing this. So, I called her over and introduced her to Greg and his date. He says, "Hey man I KNOW you!" I smiled and said, "I doubt that." and he insisted, "No man, I KNOW that I know you!" I said, "No man, you've met someone who LOOKS like me ... but it wasn't me." We politely disengaged and it's always been a find memory whenever he comes up. He could not have been a nicer, more polite and warm person in that situation. I was saddened when I learned he passed away just a few years later.

Thank you Salute 💕🎶❤️

And I remember his grandchild went to the preschool I taught in. I had to contain myself when he walked through the door the first time. It was lovely just seeing him be grandpa to his grandson. Then we just got used to him being there at drop off or pick up time. What a class act. I definitely miss him tapping. • @@misha2929 that’s beautiful! I was a dancer for 15 years . When I first met him in 1984 he was going to the same gym as my mother. She was too cute. She called me at home and told me that he was there and that I should come pick her up. So I did, and I met him, and he was so nice and so gracious. I was 14 at the time, had a major crash in many ways. What a talented man. AND he’s second wife was also very nice. I met her another time at the gym. They would workout together some times. I was strength training at that time for dance. Beautiful couple at that time.

  • I caught about the last 2 hours of this discussion. The Man represents the Nation-State in the marriage. The women and children represent your citizens. It's not a partnership. The wife may need to wear the hat of the CEO, CIO, or CFO. Teacher, Janitor, Doctor, etc... At the end of the day; the man must produce, provide, protect, secure, and defend. Of course, he must also Govern. I hope this clears that whole partnership nonsense up.

There's a jazz song he did, "So Nobody Else Can Hear" on an album by Jimmy Cobb featuring Freddie Hubbard & Gregory Hines & Bill Cosby titled same as the song. For the jazz lovers, do check it out, I don't believe you will be disappointed. He sure is missed!
