"It Has Got Out Of CONTROL!" - Former Met Police Detective On Student Stabbing Teachers In Wales

2024 ж. 24 Сәу.

The two teachers and a pupil who were hurt in a stabbing at a school in South Wales have been discharged from hospital, police have said.
It comes as the brother of the teacher who helped restrain the girl accused of attacking the teachers and a fellow pupil said he “does not think of himself as a hero”.
The victims were injured at Amman Valley School in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire on Wednesday morning and a teenage girl was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
The teachers injured in the attack are reported to be Fiona Elias, the deputy head, and Liz Hopkin, a special needs teacher.
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman confirmed on Thursday that the victims have now been discharged.
Carmarthenshire Superintendent Ross Evans said: “As can be expected with an incident as serious as this, there will continue to be a police presence at the school throughout the day today.
Former Met Police detective Peter Bleksley joins Julia Hartley-Brewer to discuss.

The victim found it difficult to venture outside of the house since January and the two that attacked him have been left to maybe do this to someone else without fear of being caught and held accountable.

Again she should not have done this.

    • Very familiar with this kind of scenario! If this is a case of retaliation for being bullied, it reflects the problems schools have when trying to remove children from schools who will not conform to behaviour norms and schools' expectations, and parents who refuse to admit that their children are at fault. Add to this some weak SLTs (senior leadership teams) who keep giving multiple so-called 'second chances' until it ends in disaster. I wonder if the D. for Ed. has figures on this. My perception is this is on the Increase.

  • Blade crime has been normalised over the past 20 years. A stabbing would have been to the fore of the news years ago - now it barely raises an eyebrow even when kids stab each other, or adults. The Met commissioned an inquiry in 2016, to get to the bottom of the sudden spike in knife crime. The conclusion was that it corresponded with a large influx from north-east Africa, carrying on inter-tribal conflicts on our streets, and in turn elevating the use of knives in the existing population. Needless to say, the report was quietly tucked away.

    @herringfly@herringfly23 күн бұрын
    • Do you happen to know the name of this report? It would be good to see if a FOI could help to find out its content.

      @user-vh7uo2su3h@user-vh7uo2su3h22 күн бұрын
    • The streets are crime ridden ghettos nowadays. The influx are definitely part of the problem. It's so evident to those that see this. Police are too scared of the R word so they tread carefully, meaning it's a soft touch on them.

  • Part of our old, unspoken and unwritten ‘Social Contract’ was that as long as the people felt the laws in place were for the protection of all of us, were fairly arrived at, and fairly Policed and enforced, then the people would in large part comply. I think that we generally had such a society in place immediately after the end of World War 2, around the Fifties and Sixties. I say ‘generally’ because you can’t please everyone, but in the main, our larger institutions were accepted and seen as acceptable by the general public. That atmosphere has evaporated in a cloud of Blair’s and Brown’s making. The ‘Social Contract’ is broken. Our people now do not view the institutions as working for them, and the laws are for those in power.

  • Something crossed the line in the '80's. Don't know what. Possibly a confluence of a number of different things. Since the second half of the '80's the standard of most media things has consistently nose dived. The quality of most creative subjects and education in general has been eroding. Literature, fine art, cinema, and television, all are aiming for the lowest common denominator. Result, mediocrity. There is no longer a prize for originality. That prize now goes to the most divisive. Watching 'Reality TV' is watching a dog eat it's own vomit. And the ratings tell us what ? We have all become dogs. We must all now be wary of every other dog, in case we become the subject of the hoard ! Little wonder all of this finds a result, in the most twisted way's in the most vulnerable places of education and society.

No London Mayor has the power to override Central Government policies on tackling crime in London; a London Mayor job is merely to direct funding to the police, police commissioners have considerably more power over policing policies than the Mayor

  • ...And there we have it...Abolishing corporal punishment in schools, and then subsequently at home, is the main contributory factor to why society is breeding feral and unruly children...Most parents are too frightened to apply boundaries, due to the local authority and their overreaching and draconian children's services safeguarding practices! I remember just 10 years ago, getting a letter from the local school, outlining that my 10 year old son, was concerned that I occasionally smoked cigarettes, and had the occasional can of beer, which I might add, was only at most 4 cans maybe in a week, and I never ever became inebriated...I should have framed that letter, as it shows just how Orwellian this state has become....It stinks of culpability (in that they full shaft you, if it gets them off the hook, and makes it look like they have been proactive), and getting the children to spy on the parents, so that the schools safeguarding team can feel like they are actually worth the state funded wages that keeps them in Woman Weekly and Take A Break magazines, on a regular basis! As far as retail theft is concerned, although I am an old school Conservative, regularly sanctioning the unemployed was a BIG mistake! IF you have your state benefits reduced or stopped, I can see (although I do not agree or condone it) why people go out and steal...Surely the DWP Secretary realise, that IF you stop the income of the poor, the state will pay more in the long term, due to crime...

The brain finishes developing and maturing in the mid-to-late 20s..............mainly for reasoning and understanding right from wrong, up an till that point in time, Kids just see it as a game. Then you have adverts on TV showing people flying about because they have an EV car or something stupid like that. Then theres all those Hero Crusaders in DC Movies.

There are billions of gamers in the world , they cannot all be psychopaths. My partner, brothers and many friends are habitual gamers who are not violent and can differentiate between reality & fantasy. In this case, the perpetrator is female and we know statistically it's a more male oriented hobby. Further information should bring to light the motive behind it, although there is speculation the girl in question was bullied.

    • @@Camille_Anderson Same could be and also have been said that not all people that have a gun will become killers, but a few will. That is not to say that what I stated is wrong. I am pointing out that such games being played by minors, their brains have yet to develop to a point that they can not see and or understand right from wrong. This has been doc many times by many over the past decade and thus has a point of interaction to which should not be rightfully denied. I spent many many years studying young people who are viewing and interacting with such gene of games as I stated in my earlier comment and have seen a dark trend among many of them develop over time. Not all become as you call psychopaths, to which I do not agree in that wording at all. However many do see the world in a different way that others, including older people would see it as.
