Sky News host Rita Panahi reacts to Talk TV host Julia Hartley-Brewer refusing to “pander” to her non-binary guest by refusing to use her ‘they/them’ pronouns.
Before the interview started, journalist Shivani Dave told the Talk TV host her correct pronouns and asked to be referred to as “they/them”.
Ms Brewer said she would instead use correct grammar and refused to refer to her as “they/them”.
“You didn’t need to tell me, did you?” the Talk TV host said.
The interviewee claimed she was a “very special” non-binary trans person.
“Oh love, you aren’t special, you're just a giant irritating pain in the butt,” Ms Panahi said.

@@inkygoat4315 in my entire life I have never read "they" to refer a single person on any english book. Not even on modern english or old-fashioned english. The closest word to THEY i've read is "thy" that was used as "your" making it singular or plural depending on the context of the phrase.

I read nearly daily and just opened my book to check and low and behold it had a they/them pronoun as singular (book was published in 1965). Here's a day to day example: "Oh someone left THEIR umbrella, we should return it to THEM". Old use of they/them as a singular pronoun example: 1. The Bible itself, although many copies of it exist MANY of them use they/them in both singular and plural contexts, example "So likewise shall my heauenly Father doe also vnto you, if yee from your hearts forgiue not euery one his brother their trespasses." 2. Many authors have used it as well, you probably know Jane Austen, and she wrote "I would have everybody marry if they can do it properly" from Mansfield Park (1814) The oldest known singular they/them was apparently a medieval romance book from the 1300s, although I had to look that one up.

I’m a 51 year old white woman, I’m not very tech savvy. I work with many younger black people who can run circles around me with tech. Who are they exactly talking about they don’t know how the internet works.

"I'm a very special..." That right there is the root of this identity nonsense. A desire to feel special or unique from the average person. That's all it is. That's all it will ever be.
I pity this *woman* feels the need to be noticed. Perhaps she came from a large family and didn't get the cuddles because her parents had to work hard to put food on the table and shelter over her head. Such a slap on her parents faces. Shameful.
