  • What's most impressive, I think, is how wildly varied Dan Castellaneta's vocal range is. Hank Azaria, Harry Shearer, and Nancy Cartwright all do tons of different characters too, and they're also immensely talented, but if you listen close, you can pick out a little trace of their own natural voice in a lot of their characters. With Dan, none of his voices sound anything alike. It's like he's got twenty other people just living inside of him 😆

In one scene he was playing a homeless man ranting and raving while Wiggum talked to Bart and the rant was such a weirdly tight stream of consciousness, the director had to tell Dan to just make incoherent noises because it was distracting from what was going on in the foreground. I think it was in season 7 and you can find the full rant that involves Solzhenitsyn somehow.

  • Someone should animate this interview, replacing Dan's head to the characters heads that he's voicing. I would love to see Conan reappear as himself on The Simpsons with the updated animation design. His previous look on the show wasn't as detailed as it could had been.

    • I think that would be great, but the new animation style is something I really disagree with. The older animation had so much more to offer, characters were real, animated characters rather than crisp, clean, soulless cardboard cutouts. The Simpsons only ever had one true art style.

    • Nah, keep the original animation style. The Simpsons just looks odd in HD.
