After my reception to ex, 3 people were arrested, two spent the night in jail. One for assault with a champagne bottle. Cops were parked across the street just handing out DUis as people left. Fortunately, we'd left by the time this all happened! Moral of the story - no open free bars at receptions. People were taking bottles of vodka to their cars.

Videos like these make me SO glad that our proposal was done in private and that we didn't have alcohol at our wedding. We also didn't have a large wedding party or dancing or over the top photos and such. Just a nice, quiet, genuine wedding and not a spectacle. It was cheaper that way, too. We saved the real money for our honeymoon. Yes, we're selfish. Deal.

That wasn't a bird release, that was falconry. One person (the groom?) calls the bird by its name - Max - and the owl has jesses on its feet. My guess is that they were planning a cute delivery of a ring, or something. But yes, idiotic to do it in a crowded, confusing room with weird light conditions.
My ex husband proposed in a crowded restaurant. It was very embarrassing and there's a very strong pressure to say yes when people are watching and clapping and excited to see you get engaged.
