Two comic geniuses and not a foul word or putdown of anyone. They don't do comedy like this anymore.
Still both here at 98 and 90 years old!
That is so wonderful to hear!!!!
Humor is what gives them a long, healthy life.
Wow. I knew that about each of them but I didn’t think of it as far as these two people right here. Dick Van Dyke played on the Carol Burnett show a lot. I remember once he was playing a man that Eunice was dating after she and Ed separated.
❤
@@cynthiaholland13lol you needed to be told they’re still alive?
Dick Van Dyke was always so good at physical comedy! Just a genius!
It's the simple things that made comedy so much better.
Still it is the most difficult task
I actually know a couple like this. They are a perfect match. It's very hard to listen to them drone on...but yep, I am glad they found each other!😂
What a boring comment.
Okay
I used to watch the Carol Burnett Show as a kid in the 1970s - one of my favourite parts of childhood. Thanks for the laughs.
Two of the greatest comedians EVER!
I met Carol & helped her at a vitamin shop in LA & she was one of the most lovely, kind, humble & gracious people I've ever met. 💖🌠
I’ve always dreamed of meeting her! You were so lucky! 😊❤.
Boy aren't we glad these were recorded for posterity! Love them both!
So many people are exactly like this!!!
Carol Burnett had oneof the best shows on TV. We never missed it. Also Dick and Mary Tyler Moore ! Great shows!!
Before SNL, there was this. So very brilliant. 💗
I miss this . Comedy without filth.
I always like Carol Burnett comedy and never get bored watching them.
Watching the old masters perform will never get boring. Dick still does Halloween decorations and shows at his home and they are a treat for everyone. I just love the man.
This is really a brilliant skit......I have known people who keep talking and never stop until they totally get lost and can't pretend to be making a point any longer...
They are not boring they have no social skills especially Bitsy 😂
🎉 HAPPY 91ST BIRTHDAY 🎂 🎉 MRS. CAROL BURNETT❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉
Incredible chemistry between these two performers.
I loved this show pure brilliance and true comedy
Yes, being self-absorbed does make a person boring!
But allowing other people to indulge their self-absorption makes a person interesting! Heh.
It’s not self-absorbed. Its insecurity.
I didn't recognize Dick Van Dyke until he opened his mouth! Wonderful costume, makeup and hair. Look at his pants above his ankles, and the necktie not straight.
Legends! American treasures!
This channel always cheers me up. Sometimes with television and music I get a bit depressed with all the junk out there that passes for entertainment. So many great people are gone now. It's like loosing all of my friends. All the values and good times are just memories for me now. It's nice to go back and live them again with these clips. Thanks again for the posts. Love them.
Exactly my thoughts also. I don't know if we will every reclaim those days or even if possible.
I know a couple just like this. I'm ashamed to say that we avoid them like crazy!
I always watched Carol Burnett with my dad and mom. I believe I watch it more now and appreciate it more than I did even then.
They are A MA ZING! Aren’t they?? I miss this show…:/
Comedy has lost so much lately. Not just the dialogue but the facial features were so much better back then.
"To make a long story short" - DON'T give it to Betsy to tell!!
That was not a conversation. It was a battle. Hard to watch but brilliant!
The body language is hilarious!!
They are legendary. He was on her show so many times. One of her favorites. She knew good comedy. Love them both.
He was on the famous elephant skit!!
I have a relative who talks just like her. I have been on the receiving end of this conversation many times!
They both sit the same way on the bench. Great attention to detail, and very funny.
What a relief it is that Carol and dick are still with us..... I'm beyond depressed and can't stop crying
Much love and strength to you, dear stranger ♥️⚡️
@@camelshit-on-the-walls446 your name made me laugh..... Thank you haven't laughed in days ❤️
@yeahnoonecaresifyouarefirst ☺️ I'm glad! It's gotten all kinds of reactions, as you may imagine. To my surprise, and weirdly enough, most have been by people telling me they like it, even love it. And yup, some have had a good laugh, too. "Children round the world Put camel shit on the walls They're making carpets on treadmills Or garbage sorting And it's no game" - David Bowie, from his exquisite "It's No Game (Part 2)"
@@camelshit-on-the-walls446 ah lol! 😂
"yeahnoonecares..." Dick just died, age 99.. 21 March, 2024.. 🇬🇧⭐⭐💙😢🌹💙🇬🇧
First time ever seeing this skit. Van Duke was so funny with the body language!!! Both brilliant comedians!! Two boring people boring each other!! We don’t see this anymore.
Dick Van Dyke is a Superb Comedian and Superb Dramatic Actor. Burnett too. Classic Superb Show.
This is genius! I started cracking up before either of them said a word!
This reminds me of, the person in a zoom mettings that talks to much. lol
I don't remember this skit. It's hilarious!
He was so handsome even then. His dimples showing when he smiles.
Even his tie is square-- nice touch.
These two are so talented!!! I love these two!!
Dick Van Dyke is so talented in everything he does.
They really are brilliant actors.
What the couple experienced in this conversation was reality. It is just an exaggerated skit of real conversations.
It's Funny how Van Dyke here reminds me in look of Jerry Lewis - -- from this Exact Same Show of a completely different episode (!) 😅😂😅😅😅
i love Dick Van Dyke...OMG,,,
Just beautiful work by two of the greats.
This reminds me of the Walter Matthau/Elaine May movie, "A New Leaf" from 1971, lol Love these two ❤
ABSOLUTELY.....my favorite sketch that was ever broadcasted on The Carol Burnet Show.
I wear the same style glasses as Dick Van Dyke wore😂
Pure genius comedy.
Oh wow Carol Burnett really is a princess I mean for real in real life she comes from the kings and queens of England and France
~Really?!?~I never knew that?!~I remember her Grandmother raised her, cuz her Mom was too much into alcoholism?~
Legends ⚘️♥️💯♥️💯✨️🌟✨️🌟✨️💥❤️🔥
Well, for heaven’s sakes! This is exactly us.
Parody of real life encounters 😂
Shows are the best teachers.
❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂 Dick Van Dyke soooo funny
So good!!! 👍😁
I actually came here because I got so tired of all the true crime podcasts that I had queued up. I just need some laughter from real talent. These brought back such wonderful memories of mum & me doing each other's toenails back in the early '70s. Monday nights were the best start to the week! 🥰
Love Carol, Dick Van Dyke, Tim Conway, Harvey Korman...
Great comedians!!
That bit where she tries to cross her legs is genius!
Wonderful to see two of the greatest. Long life, in good health, to both!
Quality acting never goes out of style
Sounds like my husband and me. 🤣
Its so so true to life & people seem to make it work sometimes
Ahhhhhh!!! Its Dick Van Dyke !!! 😍🥰😍
A lot of younger people probably don't realize but the Way Carol Burnett was positioning her legs was hilarious at that time. Back in the 70s a lot more women wore dresses and skirts and not keeping your legs close together was considered janky, sloppy
lol yes
“Un lady like” as my grandmother put it so often.
Good clean comedy! Love it!
They must really have studied what makes a conversation boring 😅😂
1:11 explains every young person born after 1990.😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
They are blowing what could of been a romance made in Heaven! So sad !😂
😂😂😂😂😂 Hilarious!
Boring is better than desperately lonely. People CAN grow at least.
DVD…one of the very best!!
Love him
Brilliant ❤
🎉 Carol is female Jerry Lewis 🎉 💕 this show is awesome
Yeah. A classic
same here she is the female version of Jerry Lewis in comedy 🤔❤❤🎉 lovely
So interesting how many of the “oddballs” and “awkward nerds” of past comedy are so clearly riffing on behaviors of the autism spectrum. I don’t believe in “problematicizing” past media at all, I think it gives great cultural history in context, but I’m glad there’s more appreciation for ASD folks these days.
That's me. I'm like that, too sometimes.
Me, too. I've literally had a friend say to my face " To make a long story longer." This was helpful. Sometimes I check for the glazed over eyes
@@johnkennedy4023 What I meant to say is that I'm not a social person. I'm not good around people.
@@jasminnemcdonald94A oops
I always thought Carol was so pretty!
Funny!
I think it would be extremely HILARIOUS if Ann Hathaway (as Mia Thermopolous) did Betsy’s part as a re- creation, especially when she talks about being a Princess!!! I don’t know who the guy would be, but I’m sure there is a guy out there that could play this part very well!!!! Ha. If he were still alive, the guy who played Napoleon Dynamite comes to mind!
Epic
Instead of avoiding people like this you should tell them and teach them how to STOP. Otherwise they'll have no friends their entire lives and not understand why, constantly depressed.
"I, me, and my" make people boring.
Shit. I have his exact haircut. I thought I looked groovy.
I let this couple at a bus stop in Iowa. One was talking about missing a deadline for school, the other was going on about an interaction in a workplace. They seemed to think they were in a conversation although they were conversing different topics. Either way, they were meant to be and I hope they ended up together! 😅
Most people are boring but they're unaware that they are.
what's so boring about two comic legends joining forces?
You're spot on. They're absolutely legends!
He started as Albert Peterson but here he's Harvey Johnson.
😂
Why does her mannerism reminds of taylor swift 😂
Van Dyke was supposed to take Harvey Korman's place. Two different comic styles and lord knows they tried but it didn't work. This was one of the better skits.
Neurodivergent dating! 😂😂
Introvert love.💕
Dick Van Dyke can bore me anytime he wants to. I’ve loved him since I was a kid watching the Dick Van Dyke show.
Back in the day they would have been called weird or awkward. Now we know they’re just neurodivergent.
Too bad our society has to put some kind of medical disorder on everything!!
So, what's boring about this? 😀
