When a world class famous jeweler turns his attention to make watches, you know the pieces are going to be ONE OF A KIND. My good friend and fellow watch enthusiast Teddy Baldassarre joins me in New York City to take a look at some of the most unique and expensive watch pieces in the world.

Jacob & Co is like the NASA of wrist wear. I don’t think there will EVER be another brand that brings such innovation to fruition in the Watch World as Jacob has brought. • @@eggeggeggegg3077 limited production concept stuff typically has bad return on investment overall. this is true in most industries with concept or showcase models, they are built for the prowess of the brand. jacob and co is a weird case where they don't have anything mass produced so they have to make a profit just from the crazy stuff. and yeah they aren't pushing the boundaries of horology or clever engineering but the designs are probably expensive to put into production and the finishing is absolutely insane. pretty sure i spotted mirrored chamfered edges along the contour of the teeth on some of the gears...these are not cheap watches to produce

Outside of the precious stones, the engineering of the watches are other-worldly. Even if it's explained to you how the watch works, it's still hard to understand. • For a long time I didn't understand this Jacob dude. But what I now realise is that he is not a "watchmaker" in the manner of George Daniels or F.P.Journe. Rather he is an artist creating a kind of ultra elite _jewellery_ which incorporates watchmaking. In many cases they are miniature sculptures - so literal works of art. The diamond piece also totally makes sense from Jacob. An "iced out" Rolex or Patek or AP always struggles to avoid a feeling of vulgarity, because is a watch (in the pure sense) which has just been 'pimped out' with diamonds! However the Jacob was conceived and created intrinsically as a piece of jewellery. It is actually very beautiful. If folks like major sports stars can afford to drop crazy millions, this is what they should be looking at, IMO.

  • If you wanna be successful, you most take responsibility for your emotions, not place the blame on others. In addition to make you feel more guilty about your faults, pointing the finger at others will only serve to increase your sense of personal accountability. There's always a risk in every investment, yet people still invest and succeed. You must look outward if you wanna be successful in life.
