It's established that Godzilla is definitively the top Alpha of the Titans now; not even the other powerful Titans _dared_ to challenge him after he defeated Ghidorah. In the same way that irl animals tend to stay away from territories that smell like top predators, the giant hole wouldn't be an issue since no other Hollow Earth monsters would dare trespass an area like that which has Godzilla's presence literally blasted all over it. All the government really has to do is just build some small barrier around it (but even then it'd be really difficult for anyone to just fall in since the hole is so huge and obvious).
This has probably been mentioned a lot by now, but interestingly the novelization of this movie includes implications that Ren's mind is taken over/eaten by Ghidorah's consciousness, and when Madison goes to the room where Ghidorah's skull was, Ren's body is nowhere to be found.
Can you imagine how defeated you'd be as the studio peeps watching and thinking, "we done screwed up leaving that stuff out. They actually wanted it."

It's because in most 'thing vs thing' movies, the things are either both good or both evil. The idea of 'which side will you pick' is extremely marketable (just look at the team kong / team zilla memes), so they want people to be able to pick a side, but they don't want anybody to feel disappointed or like they picked the wrong side. So they always introduce a third party that's extremely evil, which lets the movie have its cake and eat it too.

Honestly, that makes sense to me. They probably did want to play it safe with the future of the franchise uncertain. But while they aren't likely to re-add scenes and release a director's cut, I do agree they might just work some of this untold stuff into the next movie. Presuming there is one of course.
That WOULD be a cool plot point though, just imagine the Ghidora-possessed Ren monologuing about his past, how he lived all throughout those millions of years and quite literally humanizes the Titans and shows just how much animosity they still have
I mean Ghidorah's technically an Alien invader. He's less so a true titan and more so an invasive species. There was even a plot point in king of the monsters that Ghidorah was using the titans to terraform the planet. If they add a Ghidora-possessed Ren it'd probably be more so to explain Ghidorah's alien motives then to give a humanization to the monsters. My thoughts anyway.
@@dragonchris152 It could also explain why Ghidorah came to earth in the first place. Either by himself to conquer it, fleeing from something even more dangerous than he or maybe he is a part of something so much bigger and he was just the beginning.
In the Japanese movies Ghidorah is a planet wrecker, wiping out entire planets because of pure malevolence. The anime trilogy even made him a planet devouring Eldritch Abomination.

I love how emotive both Kong and Godzilla are in this movie. Dialog without words. The animators did an awesome job on that.

My biggest gripe with the movie was that you don't put Serizawas kid in the film and then do literally nothing with him and don't explain his motivations. It really felt like the movie needed another 35-45 minutes to flesh some of its storytelling out

Up until I finally watched the movie, after seeing the after credit scene from the previous film, I kept hoping for mechaghidora to come in and wreck stuff ... this was a decent alternative, but I genuinely hope to see it in the next one... if there will be a next one

I just watched this, but I took the mecha’s sentience less in terms of being possessed, and more of the Titans’ original power source giving life consciousness to mechagodzilla. The telepathic communication likely was more of just a bridge to allow a human to control the mech.

Here is an idea for a theory!: there is this science tv show called androids and the whole thing of the show is they bring an android/robot to life with a lightning bolt, I wanted to know if what they are doing is even slightly realistic or just completely fiction, another thing about the show is that the android learns thing VERY QUICKLY could it take over the world?

How much do you want to pay for a movie? 60 bucks?
I don't think that is a financially wise decision. Movies cost millions to make. This would effectively double the cost and dubble the loses if it goes bad. Even if the movie does well they would just barely break even considering most people only want to watch a movie once on a Friday night to relax and dont really care wether or not the lore was done properly.

For "Godzilla vs King Ghidorah" the time travel was actually put into the plot cause of how well Back To The Future was doing, though Mecha King Ghidorah itself was more of a reference to Terminator. So that bit was half right 😉
The Godzilla vs Kong official Novelization pretty much explains all of this. I thought he would have gotten it to make this video.
It kind of seems like he read the novelization and is trying to pass off plot points from it that weren't in the movie as a theory, because like half the stuff he said was like word for word with the novelization, like that can't be just a coincidence.

Hey, you theorists’ 4th channel should be Theory Theory, in which you guys go over previous theories and/or just make random theories
They’ve already looked over previous theories in Game theory, they prefer to stick, to new stuff
I agree, I think it should be a random theory, this way the cab make a theory in anything without having to make an excuse. Also MatPat does a lot of work each week to put out 3 videos(Not to mention everyone else on Team Theorist), maybe Austin could voice that one.
You know maybe the third channel should just be world theory. I don’t k is it came to my head before. Like they just do theory’s on real world stuff

Im supprised that matpat hasn't made a theory on Godzilla's atomic breath. I mean, how does he produce it? why does his dorcel plates glow whenever he charges up the atomic blast? how powerful is the atomic breath? Seriously, ive checked, and theres no theory about Godzilla's atomic breath.
Hey MatPat! Thought the video was great, but here is a piece of info you may have missed... Back before the movie came out, there were spoilers floating around via the toy line of figures.... Behemoth had some figures, which now fetch a pretty penny on eBay. Maybe Behemoth was going to have a role in the movie and that got scrapped too?

@Che Liu it's hard to not come to that conclusion though. Kong is after all, a giant money with nothing (even with the weapon that isn't much help)
@@SoggyCoffeeAddict not entirely true (even though I'm team Godzilla, I know Kong isn't a push over), Kong is stupidly smart. So smart, he's been able to communicate with humans but didn't because he didn't trust monarch (or anyone really). He just wasn't able to keep up with Godzilla's stubbornness when fighting.

They cut it because it's too similar to the plot of pacific rim uprising. Newt made a connection a kaiju in the previous film and was possessed by the aliens that sent them...then he gets involved with a tech company that makes more kaiju, newt gets used as a vessel for the aliens to taunt the humans with. It's pretty much the same thing as the ren plot.
