There are only a few guys that COULD arguably be better. Gane is a good fighter no doubt, but you’ve offered no case as to why Gane is better than Jon. Gane literally got taken down and controlled by an injured Francis. I mean WORST case scenario for Jon this fight is he gets pieced up so just wrestlefucks him for the rest of the night. Without Gane being able to grapple there’s really no way for him to win. If he had big KO power I’d say that’s a chance, but he doesn’t. Gane doesn’t generate power like that. So what can Gane do better than the guys Jon has faced? Jon has beaten people with a long reach. Jon has beaten the best strikers. Jon has beaten KO artists. Jon has beaten wrestlers. Jon has beaten BJJ legends. Jon has beaten people that have crazy cardio. Please enlighten me. Tell me what Gane is gonna do that Jon hasn’t already dealt with. dude this is why we need more fighters going into media, you can see in the questions and answers that these 3 dudes are basically just coworkers talkin bout work, shared experiences, shared knowledge, and that mutual respect cause they know they have all of those things in common, and all of that makes interviews come across as more genuine feeling, at least for me, this was dope

I like this version of Jon. He seems more at peace with himself. Life is a journey, and it's crazy to think that this guys journey is posted online as it happens.
Jon always has great perceptions on his opponents strengths and weaknesses and openly discusses them, that aspect of Jon's preparation is always bullseye accurate 💯
I'm a huge gane fan and I like him alot but I think he is a bit overrated, he has great striking for heavyweight division but if he fought someone like alex pereira who is 235 on fight night he might knock gane out. But I might be wrong who knows.

I feel the long layoff was an indicator that it was maybe a bit more difficult to gain the weight(properly) than Jon or his team may have initially expected. I think the long time also shows how committed he was to trying to do gain the weight well and ensuring that it was all functional gains(by properly I mean gaining it slowly and making sure it's all efficient mass instead of just weight). But him being able to endure all of that and stay focused is a testament to his drive and what makes him such an elite athlete. Getting tired of eating to try to gain weight feels real to me, I would imagine it wasn't fun. Glad for Jones to have gotten through it and excited to the fruits of his effort. Can't wait for fight!
