That's an insane landing. Looks like ones I did in Microsoft Flight Simulator as a teenager.
"According to Maximus Aviation, this approach was performed by the crew of Presidential Unit of Argentina's Air Force. The A/C itself is T-04 737-500. The maneuver was a part of special training, during which pilots were evaluating operational capabilities of the aircraft type."
Interesting video and commentary, Denys! It’s so important to be stabilized and this was WAY out of the envelope! I had a copilot get all pissy with me a few months before I retired as I told him to “go around” at 500 feet when he was 30 knots fast and way high on an approach into IAD in the 777. We had a long discussion of it once we parked. I told him in no uncertain terms that when EITHER pilot says “go around” there is absolutely NO hesitation whatsoever. You just DO IT and talk about it on the ground. I think he got the message. That moment of hesitation could have been disastrous and I came within a hairs breath of taking the aircraft from him. 400 feet is NOT the place to get argumentative! Stay safe my friend!
OMG that’s horrendous, I hope you climbed into him for that! He was Unprofesh at best but straight-up dangerous really.
@John Doe It was a very momentary bad reaction. It was de-briefed thoroughly and assured to my satisfaction that there would never be a similar reaction under any circumstances. Had that not been the case, we would have headed to our unions’ Professional Standards group. That was not necessary in my opinion but is a very good tool for problem solving outside the purview of management.
Hey Steve, the FO needs to know he doesn't get a vote on NOT following the Company Policy. He gets paid to be a professional pilot, if he is not interested in doing so, he needs to take a walk. That would be something to raise directly with him, with a witness, and if he doesn't get it, to push it to the fleet manager. There is no place in the cockpit for a primadonna who prefers his rules to the Company's.
Hi Denys, that was the Tango 05, part of presidential fleet, its a -500. They where authorized for that maneuver incredibly. Love your channel. Be safe buddy, hope you the best.
Just beacuse you are authorized, doesnt it mean that you should do it.
Why would they ever be put in a position where there is a **need** to do this? Outside a medical emergency perhaps, but even then…
Hopefully this whole crisis stops. Stay safe captain!
This was an approach made by TANGO 04. (Presidential Aircraft) performing a military exercise of some kind. The Standard approach is an ILS-Z RNWY 13. 10 Miles Long. Frequency 109.5 Crs 133.. I am a planespotter at Aeroparque and this is a once in a lifetime occurence. I was quite sad I wasnt able to see this in person. But theres video now. So its pretty nice
Deny's!! I only clicked because thumbnail said crazy! Smashing like button now.
Thanks, Triton!

Thank you Denys. Despite the horror your country is going through, and how frightening it must be for you and your family, you still provide entertainment and aviation related content for us to enjoy. What a brilliant and resilient guy you are. This war will end soon positively for Ukraine and Russia will lose terribly
Saw this video of the drill exercise and thought of you. Glad to see you doing a reaction on it.
It was made by de Argentine Air Force, the plane is a former Aerolineas Argentinas B737-500 LV-AYE, now with the registration T-04 by the air force, there's also a video recorded by the controller in Aeroparque, this maneuver 20 years ago was known as "la super pluna" by the Uruguayan ailines PLUNA with the B737-200, good old times ;)
Thanks for the tip on the video! I just had to look it up. Crazy stuff! For anyone interested: kzhead.info/sun/dMigqbl_j3-Jgqc/bejne.html
Denys, thanks for your videos. Our thoughts are with you and your family. Stay safe my friend! ✈️
Thanks for the narrative on the CMU approach video. Stay safe.
Hi Denys, and thanks again for this. 🙏I have seen similar landings occurring where I grew up, at Pisa - LIRP when, because of winds, they cannot use this only available ILS RW 04R and have to do a Circle to Land Approach on RW 22L instead, especially when military aircraft like C130 comes in. 😍
Thanks Captain for this.
Wow 🤩 That’s incredible
Unstable approach, Go Around and flaps Up! Don't Force a Land if any reason! I suggest a FOQA explanation. Cheer's from Brazil.
Thanks for the tips!
Eu tbm sou br mano 🇧🇷
Flaps 15 until positive climb and or miss approach altitude reached I would say 😍
Well , I’m going to look at this in a 180* of your analyses 👌🏼 This pilot just greased this landing ‼️ …. BUTTER
I hope you are safe keep it up
I kept thinking the runway was going to come into vision, but it just kept turning and we still didn't see it. Wow!
Thanks for uploading the official video Landing approach runway Airport Airplane good sir Denys Safety in line take care always ❤🇺🇦😊
Once upon a time when i was in Argentina and have been spotting aircraft in Aeroparque airport for many times, i witnessed several times a 737 classic of Aerolíneas Argentinas making final sharp turn into the the runway just less than 1 km from the runway threshhold upon approach. And that were commercial flights, not an Air force. It seemed to me quite rare. But what is shown on the video It's just insane! It shows how manoeuvrable a good old 737 is.
Hi Captain Denys crazy approach video
What a scary approach!
Ohh more good videos from Denys, fantastic!! WOOW that was scary flying... Is he still a pilot... hmmm
Apparantly it was an authorized maneuver, the plane was part of the presidential fleet See Sergio Naiberg's comment
So good to hear your expert opinion!
Many thanks, Bettina!❤️✈️
Hello, old friend is here, continued success for the channel, I'm from Jakarta, Indonesia...
Thanks for this interesting video. Please stay safe🇺🇦🙏
Valeu meu amigo.
Hey bro! There is a video that seen the approach and landing from outside! Big hug from AR!
That video was in Buenos Aries Runway 13 at Jorge Newbery.
It's insane indeed but, like it or not, the pilot is very skillful or crazy (or both). You say it's probably a ferry flight: hope so but keep in mind it's South America ... It's another world overthere with regards to aviation. All the best
Hey Mr Denys. Best to you and yours 💖.
Same to you!
Stop by say hello. Have a great day. See you later on live stream
🔥
wow buenos Aires and close to my country, Brazil and very close to argentina
first!!!!
I like this channel most in the world
Thank you!
It's my normal approach in x plane 11.
Relieving the monotony 👀
🔥🔥🔥
Kai Tak Heart Attack! The pilot in command needs to watch your go around for Garuda Indonesia. I don't know who uploaded this, but it can't be very wise to give your company the proof it needs to remove you from duty for retraining or to just dismiss you.
Not the first.....haha) Many thanks for your efforts Denys👍You really remean an Aviation Captain 💗✈💗I love this 😘 Stay safe Denys with you family 🙏🙏 Glory to "UKRAINE"💙💛💙💛❤ ......X BETSY.....
50’ threshold crossing height okay, but bank angle at 20’ and not having a hard landing is amazing.
❤❤
I love you 🥰
I think it is the same insident happened in calicut international airport air india express crash. Did u know it??
Stay safe Mate ❤️🇺🇦 , I support what correct and wright 🤴🇷🇺🌏🇦🇺👍😇
Trust me, I will do a go around, even with a Cessna 152!
Reminds me of the Kai Tak airport landing approach (Hong Kong - no longer in service). Head directly for the mountain, make a hard right bank, drop down onto the runway high and hot so as to avoid the hi-rises that surround the airport. Start @ 3:00 kzhead.info/sun/n9xsc8erbKaBma8/bejne.html
But then you'll be able to level your wings and fly straight down to the runway by at least 300'-500' agl at Kai Tak. This one, they still try to align with the runway at 50' agl while crossing the threshold.
Hey Denys are you home now ?
I would do this Only in a computer flight simulator...😄
Are you using the rode nt usb microphone?

Nice video and explanation, thank you for the review, stay safe.🇺🇦💪🏻🇺🇦💪🏻🇺🇦💪🏻🇺🇦💪🏻🇺🇦💪🏻🇺🇦
#1 😀
For an example of an approach with a pretty big turn at low altitude, there's the Expressway Visual to runway 31 into KLGA where you have to make a nearly 180 degree turn right before you land, but even then from videos I've see by the time you're at 200 feet you have to be stable and lined up with the runway, for example here: kzhead.info/sun/qtyLdq2mnIWKh2w/bejne.html
Maybe the pilot had declared an emergency?
Think there’s a hole in the pilots seat?
Good video! Hope you can fly soon. Glory to ukranie!
I know! I would be fired and wrote up for sure! The bank angle and minimums were way off!! Should of been at least 150klms way to slow!! In safe as hell!
130kts is ok
@@PilotBlogDenys true, I try to achieve 130kts-145kts, depends where I’m landing at and runway length
Maybe whoever recorded this did surreptitiously, ie they had pressed record on their phone and slipped it I got their shirt Brest pocket with just the lens visible.
Very interesting. Almost a stunt manoeuvre. I can’t see a standard operating reason for this kind of flying really, even if (as someone said) there’s allegedly some kind of special dispensation for it, I dunno. Seems a bit off to me hey. Stay awesome Denys! Love to you n your loved ones of course as usual. 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦💙💛
Lord have mercy! Oh my goodness! Well bless their hearts they did find the runway and fortunately landed safely. Personally I think maybe they should have done a go around and lined up better for the landing but heck what do I know I'm not a pilot. I'm just someone who always believes in using good common sense. Carelessness, crazy, insane, all three? Maybe, but I do admit it made for a very entertaining and interesting video. Stay safe Captain.
You can do whatever you want on the last day of your job!
Same video, but with little better audio: kzhead.info/sun/ZrihZduHr2OGpqs/bejne.html
