Showing off is said to be a fool's sense of glory. That is certainly true in the sport of boxing. A split-second mental slip can have terrible consequences. It's always interesting to witness showboating fail badly in combat sports, whether it's due to a little dancing during the fight, trash talk in the ring, or during the weigh-in. Without further ado, here are the times when arrogant Fighters were destroyed by their opponents.

    • @@richardcranium-oz1qtI’m not defending Conor at all but he’s used to going 3-5 rounds max so of course he’s going to gas. And he was up against arguably the most precise puncher in boxing history who, while retired, wasn’t “old” and kept in shape at that time. Floyd will still school most if not all boxers his size let alone a striker coming into a ring for the first time. Conor thought striking was boxing and it’s not, they’re worlds apart. But then he got paid a retirement kind of sum so oh well lol. Floyd even now wouldn’t have lost to that McGregor and would have schooled him also. He’s just that good. I don’t even like Floyd lol.

    • Dumb comment. Conor has succeded in his own version of combat while being an insupportable gas bag, so his verbal diarrhoea this time around was a non-factor in the result. A professional in any combat sport will always take enough time to get the measure of an unknown adversary before turning up the heat, and that is just what happened here.
