  • He was furious at himself, upset, happy for usyk, annoyed at his critics, and so many more emotions. And all of that was being spilled at once. All he needed was a shoulder to cry on and then someone to talk to in private before he spoke to the world. The guy is human

    • AJ just couldn't take the lose at the end of the fight. All fighters who lose get emotional and all that. AJ took that to another level. Unprofessional what he did when the fight was over.

    • “Show them where it hurts, abstain from spending your money in their shops and economies, and invest in black-owned businesses." This was the day I stopped supporting Joshua. Dillian Whyte warned for years that we were not seeing the real Joshua. He gave a good account of himself and left everything he had in the ring. Unfortunately for him, he simply was defeated by the better fighter. On another night he may have landed a knockout blow. No shame in losing to Usyk. I understand he is only human but he let himself down after the fight. Was clear to see AJ gave it his best shot.

When you've worked your absolute crazy best at trying to achieve something and to be the best, especially at something you believe is your calling in life, and it still isn't good enough, it breaks a man's soul in ways most won't understand. I remember years and years ago, staying up to around 3 or 4 in the morning, listening to one of his fights on BBC Five Live (think it was the rematch with Rahman). After Lewis won, I can remember wanting to feel what Lennox was feeling, the crowd cheering and calling his name, the victorious walk back to his dressing room, the party and celebrations with his team, the congratulations from fellow fighters and celebrities. It must have felt great that night. I've never done that with any losing fighter - very few of us have - I wonder why? Maybe if I did, I'd maybe understand why AJ acted that way.

Other fighters have come back from a lot worse than lose 2 time to usyk , the second time was very close and if Joshua could have landed a few more of them body shots it could’ve been different outcome as usyk couldn’t hide it he was definitely hurt to the body in this fight and believe he was doing his very best to hide it. Brilliant boxing match. Can’t wait to see usyk vs fury and to see Joshua going forward from this

    • While you're mostly right it is debatable he can improve his cardio and muscular endurance while retaining his power. People tend to think he didn't capitalize on having Usyk hurt because of some psychological issues. Nonsense. The man was both gassed and his arms were pumped with lactic acid by 10th so badly you can see he didn't throw a proper jab in last two rounds.

  • AJ exhausted himself in round 9. All my friends were cheering, fist pumping at the close of the round thinking he'd weakened Usyk and he had him next round. Meanwhile all I could think was Joshua is doomed the next round. If you're as big as him and you commit to a KO you need to KO, or you're going to be very tired. Round 10 Joshua bearly threw and from there on it was obvious the outcome.

    • That was my thought, as well, Bobby. Mounting an offensive like that, in the later part of the fight takes a lot out of a boxer. I mentioned that to my wife, between rounds. Having said that, it was incredible that Usyk took all of that punishment and still had the reserve to come back like that in the 10th. The guy is unworldly.

    • @@eliwood9906 whatever. Usyk has been studying AJ for at least 10 years, watching taking notes while AJ has been fighting mandatories etc. Usyk knows AJ movements well. So while he is very talented, he has had and taken the time to really study all there is to know about AJ. AJ on the other hand hasn't even had a full 6 months to get to know Usyk at. Usyk is not some god; he is very beatable. That is what happens when you are taking back to back championship level fights and taking on everyone. He was a good target for everyone. In hindsight, he should have been more strategic, dropped the WBO belt and let Usyk fight and defend it so he could have more info and see how Usyk fights more. Ofcourse, Usyk didnt want that, they wanted to fight him as it was easier as they knew all about him and more money. It's just sad that after defending those belts for so long, and trying to make undisputed they are taken of him like that. Good luck to him. He had a natural human moment. When he lost to Andy Ruiz people said he didn't care and he was too lackadaisical now he has an adrenaline frustrated episode people are also clowning him. Anyway, he has a lot of other changes to make. He will be back strong and surprise all before he retires. Keep your head up AJ, Champ🥊
