A.J parents belong to the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria( Yorubas also exist in some west african countries , also in Cuba,Brazil through slave trade). They have an ancient tradition of showing respect to elders by the men prostrating, and the women kneeling. Although in general day to day, the men will normally just bend over or some touch the ground with a finger, while the women will also bend their knees. But in ceremonies and things , u will see the men fully prostrated....In most cases , the elders will tell them " pls pls get up, dont bother" as soon as they see them going down. But in some cases if u dont go down or show any sign of respect , they will take it as an insult based on their traditions.
So the main interviewer found like tens different ways to ask the same question... how is it being famous... 🙄
I appreciate the man AJ, and I'm definitely a dyed-in-wool supporter... However, AJ still doesn't answer the Wilder question in a way that will garner him (AJ) the respect that he deserves. The right way to answer the question is to remind ppl when you came into the sport (which he did in this clip), and then to let the ppl know that you're trying to make the fight and making several offers to team Wilder and you're still being ignored. At this point you want the fans to now go and put pressure on Wilder's side for them to come to the negotiation table. And also make it clear that negotiation must be done in good faith your team must all be on the negotiation table, and that includes Eddie Hearn. If Wilder wants to fight, he can't be putting up barriers and creating unnecessary cat fights with your promoter, bcos he's not getting into a fight with Hearn, but myself. Adults must behave as adults. And if team Wilder still refuse to come to the table, then you'd continue fighting other mandatory challenges... And the fans shld not take their eyes off other DANGEROUS challengers in the division. They're coming, so I'm staying ready and focused!!!
