Now that Elena has won a WTA 1000 clay title she is now one of the very few active players to have won big titles on all surfaces. Grass = Wimbledon 2022 Hard Court = Indian Wells 2023 Clay = Rome 2023 Congratulations 🎉👏👍

She only won because of other players injuries. In none of these matches she played at a champion level.
Compare to Iga’s two Slams and 10 other titles last season, it’s nothing.

@@eusevius2955 I would not say the first one as in Juniors a beating, the second one is ok, the third one was retirement due to the pain, and till that moment 2-2 in the third set Iga had won more games than Ryba. Iga has never lost to a player younger than she. Their winning statistics taking into account that Ryba is two years older are in Iga’s favour already now.

@@eusevius2955 It was after midnight, 15 degrees Celsius, and Iga felt pain in the main thigh muscle of her right leg, they taped it, but she felt the pain in the third despite of the tape, and she took the decision not to make it any worse and risk possibly Roland Garros. Very mature decision and the scan showed she has not torn anything, it was only a strained muscle. So see you in RG and hope the next match between them.
And again only Kalinina's points shown😂 Ryba did twice more winners, but highlights only Kalinina's moments, WTA what a joke🤣🙄🤡

I should admit that Elena had some luck with the retirements of Kalinskaya, Swiatek and Kalinina and also with the Rome conditions and poor organisation. But that doesn't make her triumph undeserved. Maybe after all these months of bad luck in the tournaments with hard draws, robbed Wimbledon 2000 pts. and playing in WTA250 level courts, she deserved such a luck! Also i saw from her a very big improvement in her playing style on clay in every single aspect - from her footwork to her shots. She starts to feel this surface better and better and that's scary for the opponents. Congrats, Elena, for the well deserved title and i hope that to be a confidence booster for Roland Garros!
The points of Wimbledon tournament weren't robbed at all. That was the logical consequence of Putin's decision and irresponsible attitude from several players who didn't want to get vaccinated against COVID.
Luck? There is no such thing as luck. Every professional players are train to their best form to compete. If you over commit too many tournaments, your own body wears you down physically and mentally. Rybakina too played back to back tournaments which wore her down in the last tournament which means body needs to rest. Those players that retired too played a lot of tournaments. Second, switching from hard court (from before US Open) to clay court surface still takes time to acclimatise as the playing style is totally change. You tend to stretch more, run more to the net and slower pace in ball speed with plenty of top spin. So, there is no such thing as luck. It’s how you manage your career and play on certain tournaments.
@@danlovesayu Kalinina spent 4 hours more than Rybakina on courts because of her ranking. That's why she couldn't battle with equal forces at this final game.
@@danlovesayui didn't say that in bad meaning. But more retirements means less court time, which means more rest and consequently more energy. Of course Elena isn't guilty for the injuries of her opponents, i gave credits to her.
@@DanTony68 That's no excuse. If you can't compete with the best, then there is the exit door. As I said, every professional are well trained. If additional 4 hours will hurt her body, then she never re-condition her body enough to compete in one of the top tournaments in Europe. Coaches knows their players well enough to take on their opponents but have to risk if they are really fit enough to compete and complete the game. It's not just physical strength but mental strength too. If your mind isn't strong enough, your whole body will crumble along with it. If you look at Rybakina over statistics, she grew from strength to strength in each tournament she competes. She doesn't go all out to reach for every single ball. I have watch every game of hers and if you have time to go through it, you will see how a good player and coach manage their game. Rybakina use to whack her balls so hard as if it's her no.1 enemy. Now her game play have improved and controlling the ball on her forehand. She is one of the few tall players that goes to the net often as well.
Congratulations Elena well deserved win. Beat of the luck for the rest of the season . You are are amazing female player.

The stadium is so empty because the match was delayed more than 4 hours due to rain.
weather was a disaster, in fact all week. Then again, it is a women final and as much as I like Rybakina, the level overall is so bad it's a joke. I mean, Iga #1 ? that says it all.

I have to agree with you. It happens quite regularly & I share your frustration. Even MORE frustrating (for me) are all of these so-called "commentators" of late! Very few Tennis Specialists. They can easily quote the STATS, but are unable to make specific comments about individual points/shots/rallies etc. Grrrrrr!
