I am from France and see it from Danmark. Usually you never put eggs nor milk in bread. It's always flour and water with salt and yeast. But if you leave flour and water mixed together, covered, at 20-25 degree Celsius for 2 to 3 days, you don't even need yeast. It will create yeast on its own, and the bread made can be kept much longer than bread made quickly with only 1 hour raising time. It taste better too. If you keep a cup of the obtained dough, put it in a bocal in the fridge, it keep making yeast, and you can use it as yeast for your next bread, let the dough overnight, and again keep a part of the dough for the next bread, as yeast. Some past this yeast from generation to generation, and I once had a 100 years old yeast, past from bread to bread , week after weeks, for several generations. You can do it too. Create natural yeast with only flour and water, let rest for 3 days, to begin it with. Real baguette in France are made without yeast, by letting the dough rest at 22°C in the dark, for 3 days. They prepare the dough everyday, days in advance, so there is always ready dough to make baguettes everyday. This way to make bread break the gluten during the rest time. Therefore the longer you let the dough the better the bread is, and the longer you can keep the bread fresh. Country bread, is using a dough let to rest for 2 to 3 days, covered, which makes a bread who can be kept fresh for a month. That's the bread used by Sheppards, when they had to leave with the sheep in the mountains for many weeks.
Gracias buena persona. Estoy muy agradecido por tu comentario. Definitivamente tomaré tu consejo. Intentaré cocinar esto muy pronto.🙋♀️🙏🙏🙏💖💖💖
This is how households make Indian Dosa. By taking some of the mix that has soured & become yeast placing into the next mixture ect. Delicious. Very ancient form of cooking all over the world by the sounds. 😋

Watching with interest from Ireland. Will definitely try it.
sweet 💕
May I ask for how long do you cook it on each side?
In ireland when it was just open fire places, griddle bread was made in a very similar way. We didn't use yeast, instead just bicarbonate of soda and sour milk. It was also not kneaded, just last step of oil in pan and it was flattened to about 1.5 inches in thickness. I've never eaten nicer bread than my grandmother's griddle bread. Thanks for your video, I will try this method. Best wishes
That’s totally not similar

Im from Texas, USA and have done a similar thing when hiking. I mix all dry ingredients ahead of time and simply mix the powder with water and beef tallow in my little 700ml cooking cup. I add dried berries and sometimes dried meat to make a dense bread that feels like a meal in itself.

There’s a special way to need dough so that when it cooks is ends up fluffier. My dad was taught by a chef how to do it when making scones.

I was the one that went to the Bakery to get a couple loaves of bread for dinner, and before I got home , a third of a loaf was degutted. So my wife and I did this for the first time about 3 or 4 months ago You're using a fraction of the gas that the oven would've used, and for the same money that you would spend on one loaf of bread of the same quality, you'd make 4 or 5 loaves,, and enjoy it so much more. Low heat in a small covered pan works way better than that 350 degrees in a big oven and heating up half the house. You can't goof it up
And yet I did.
Well, only bake in the oven in the winter then, when you can save on heating by baking :)
