I got a fold form a rescue a few months ago and she is the most sweet, timid girl, and curious girl
This is the best advertisement video for the Scottish fold....
😂 great cat!
@@catsnow stupid people
They are being bred with arthritis to make their ears fold. This is absolutely animal abuse.
@@catsnow I have one she is cute
Literally and now I def want one !
My first cat was a moggy who happened to be a fold. When she was a baby cat her ears were 'normal' but growing up her ears remained tiny, half the size they should have been. She got a single fold and lived 19 years.
This cat matches my personality so much. Sweet, sensitive, intelligent introvert who enjoys mental stimulation. Funny because I was drawn to this cat before I knew the personality traits
perfect fit for you!
I ended up with a Scottish Fold due to my neighbor always leaving her outside… one morning a few year’s ago… I thought I heard some type of cat fight and it ended up being a coyote trying to eat my girl!!! I ended up getting bit by the coyote to save her. I called her owner to explain what happened and she wanted nothing to do with it. So…I scraped enough money together to save her and pay for my hospital visit. My family is blessed to call Special our’s. I’m thankful her owner is an idiot! She’s the sweetest, most loving and silly cat.
You are such a cool person!
I have 2, and both are absolutely adorable. One is folded, and the other straight ears. They both, Poppy and Mila, are healthy, lovable cats! ❤
Got any pictures? Just wondering 😅
If it’s straight ears then its not scotish fold lol. It’s probably british shorthair
makes me wanna go get one even more 😃
nice!
The reason the scottish fold has folded ears is due to several degenerative diseases that cause great pain. This breeds creation is perhaps the pinnacle of human cruelty.
@@undertyped1 its not no diseases, its a mutation which causes the ears to fold and it doesnt bring any pain to the cats they live good lives with the right owners. if you mate a fold with another fold than yes you perhaps will have kittens that are defects and might go through pain because when 2 folds mate they mutation that they have mashes up and it creates defects.
@@azariyhuncho not what the published studies say
@@azariyhuncho every scottish fold has the disease
Don't care still getting one. One of my favorite breeds 🥺💜🖤
So basically I’m a Scottish fold.
Me too because of the joint pain!
I've just picked one up after meeting a few at a cat show. I picked him up from a well respected and certified award winning breeder that I met there, and all of her fold kittens were excellent condition and had lovely personalities. It was incredibly hard to chose one, but I let him chose me. He's been on my lap since I got him home, very happy and incredibly adorable. I would say that if the breeder is good and the cats are well looked after then you can find a lovely little companion in one of these cats.
thats great!
How much did he cost? Aren't those shows pretty expensive?
@@jakethespartn6712 the show was just £10 per ticket, but the cat cost me £500
Do you have any contact for a good vreeder please?
You’re lucky got a healthy cat from the show, usually people do research for a while in google see the reviews which the breeder can’t deleted the bad reviews. Cats in show which not means they are healthy, the opposite they have dangerous situation that the judge touched so many cats in the day, good breeders don’t go to shows, they protect their animals and they don’t have time for that, busy selling. Lucky you 😄
My Scottish cat is like a guard dog lol he just yells at the cats from the window and then one of the cats approaches the door and screams to keep them away. I feel sorry for those cats because I am used to feeding them and playing with them, and also when I open the door of the house and even if I keep it open for a while, he never runs away. He stands on the edge of the door and just shouts at the cats. I have raised a few different types of cats, such as the Chinchilla and the Shirazi, but the Scotch is completely different in terms of intelligence and calm. If your personality loves calm, I advise you to adopt a Scotch. They are amazing.
Scotch is an alcoholic drink. Scot is in relation to Scottish. Not Scotch 🥃
@@lindacolbert1344 My native language isn't English, so I use translation to avoid mistakes,Thanks for correcting that for me
I thought it might not be your native language, hence why I commented 😊
Oh my God I love them so much
I just got my scottish fold and I love her so much!
The points made here are pretty much facts about adopting any cat and what they need. Also, lasers are no longer acceptable as cat toys. They can of course cause eye injuries but more important, the laser game never ends; there's no reward for the cat, unlike a toy on a string, for instance.
I wanted this cat since the original Pet sematary film cause I always loved church the cat
My Gizmo is a spoiled brat, can’t stand to see her Mom go and waits at the door for us to get home
I got on December 5th and she’s very cute and playful and when she’s happy she licks people 🙂
It's unfortunate that the main reason why we shouldn't buy/own Scottish Fold cats failed to be mentioned in this video. 😞
I agree, super weird not the mention the main thing that is the reason they have folded ears is the gene mutation that affects their cartilage all through the body and they endure extremely painful arthritis because people think it's cute
Very strange. Lots of owners have come to this video to try to warn people off the breed. My poor boy is suffering and he is only 5. From a highly regarded breeder who has championship lines. It's all shallow cruelty.
Please check this chennel!!! They saying only bad things about every cats and dogs breed!!! They have a different goal by doing this: they want you to adopt instead of buying...
I have a Scottish Straight female NS 1133, she is absolutely sweetest cat ever! 🐈 She has male companion which I have who is a bsh NY 1133, they are great pair.
Mine came to me, and he was abandoned. He is older. He is so sweet . He has alot of attention. He has gone deaf so sad.
I've discovered my spirit animal
Please don’t get one!!! I have one but he has arthritis in severe joint pain!!! 60 to 70 percent of them has it, it is a genetic issue, I brought him to the clinic and the vets said it best to ask someone to inject him so he die instead of bearing the pain every day. I am having a really bad day I don’t know what how can I accept this
hi there any updates on what happened to ur cat?
i have one and he's the best
I love scottish cats I have 3
i am desperate for a scottish fold but my mum doesnt want one 😒😒
They are rare breed and i think they deserve same chanses as other cats i have 4 folds they are all helthy and happy
I have 6 folds and no cats 😉
People who buy or breed these cats have no morality. Imagine breeding a cat to have crippling degenerative joint diseases just because they look cute.
@@undertyped1 if u breed fold to straight it is actually quite rare the disease will develop anywhere past they’re ears.
@Saad Alqarni keep em, im just saying that buying or breeding them is morally bankrupt. You do you though.
@@saadalqarni8875 How did you get he said that? He was saying don't breed any more. Especially by people. If some trait was harmful to animals, wouldn't you be asking for that too? That said, I'm not specifically talking about the Scottish Fold. I don't know the cat's condition.
hmm, ended up here - was looking for a video called 7 reasons not to view negative internet click bait... sigh.. will keep looking..
Best cats I've ever owned by far
My cat is the sweetest one😊😊😊
So my mum has work at 6:30 and comes back at 2:00pm and i have school at 8:55 and come back at 3:00 so im not sure what to do to keep it company as i cant buy another pet
Just give more love when you come home and they will be fine with you gone because they like lone time to
Yes they love quiet and will be so affectionate when you’re home. So intelligent and sensitive
Easy! Feed it at 7:30 am and play with it for 1 hour or 40 minutes and let it roam for a little! leave it a good amount of food & water for it to be able to feed itself while it's gone! It's probably gonna be napping for a little from inbetween 9 and 11 and it can still feed itself so from 11 to probably 11:08 it will be eating! It also needs to be able to roam around and have toys it can play with by itself and small little snacks around the house and remember cats like quiet time so it's probably fine with not seeing you for a few little short hours
Don't buy or breed this cat. The folded ears are due to several degenerative disease that when combined cause the appearance of folded ears.(also known as the fold mutation) and it causes the cats great pain and suffering from the day they are born until the day they die. This breeds creation is perhaps the pinnacle of human cruelty.
Very very wrong do more research. Yes they are born with osteochondrodysplasia in there ears but if breeders follow proper protocol then it is very unlikely it will spread throughout their body and they are not born crippled and in pain only with the disease in their ears. I have owned 4 folds and all of them lived long happy healthy lives. Do more research
@@noscope6754 Lol, what are you talking about? It has nothing to do with their ears. The ears appearance are just a side effect of the disease. Its just like how having a bald head is a side effect of chemotherapy.
@@undertyped1 what I’m saying is the disease only effects the ears in most folds. Not all of the have bone and cartilage deformities in their entire body, actually for most of them the ears are the only cartilage actually affected by the disease
does not cause them pain what so ever.
@@azariyhuncho I'm not surprised you'd say that, people like you are always going to try to justify this cruel practice however you can.
Too late I got one, and love him soo muchh
Shouldnt the number one reason be that they carry a sickness with the genes that cause them pain and deformations?
Exactly
I have one from a highly regarded breeder, couldn't have a better 'pedigree'. The poor boy is suffering.
Ignore the haters. Everyone has there own opinions
It’s too late… I got a Scottish fold… but it’s ok!
Their ears are folded because of their degenerative cartilage disease & they experience awful pain due their joints eroding, its straight up unethical to breed these animals

I disagreed with first and 2nd points! I’m Scottish and British cats breeder in USA since 2018! The first and 2nd points are common for all the animals! Not only for Scottish fold! Animals don’t want to be alone and they do shedding, summer shedding more than winter. For any breed of cats, if you don’t comb the hair forever, no matter what breed, you will be surprised! They are expensive, special with ears and face shape, but from their heart and spirit, they are normal cats, they have normal cats need, they eat normal food like other cats, they shed normal amounts like other cats. Your video is misleading people, please correct it, thank you.
You said you are Scottish and British cats breeder in USA since 2018. Where are you located? I'm interesting to have a scottish fold cat. How can I contact you?
the video is about the Scotty fold which of course is a subset of all cats and all cats and all animals need to be treated well. I don't think the creator of this video was excluding care for all pets. I found all the points relevant to my particular cat a Scottish fold I inherited especially. No. 1 - More than many cats I've had over the years which have varying degrees of needing company and some are more aloof. Mine does have separation anxiety possibly as her owner died but she stays with me most of the time. No. 2 d This Scottish fold sheds all the time intensely more than other moggies I've had that didn't shed as much. Yes shed more in Summer but mine sheds enormous amounts. It has a thick soft super coat which I've never seen before in regular cats and brushing is a daily consideration her shedding never seems to stop. This video is not misleading, the fact that they can be expensive doesn't say mean they do not have normal needs. The only thing I would change is the title of the video Title it could be more positive extolling the joys, not the negatives and the negatives aren't many really because these cats are super intelligent and look after themselves very well they ask you for what they want. and are sweet & adorable. One Point missed tho it could pertain to ALL Cats is that I read that this breed is susceptible to developing arthritis my 18-year-old has some arthritis in her front elbow joints sadly. I was happy to see this video it showed me some of the finer points I didn't know about this beautiful breed and is accurate. A pedigree (yes a subset of all cats ) yet very special. I'm pretty sure the video was made to show how special these cats are and the individual care they can require. Cats need Love & Care Universally that's for sure.
Why do you breed these cats??? The cartilage mutation means they have joint problems and pain at 4.5 years old. I have one from a highly regarded breeder, couldn't have a better 'pedigree', championship lines, cost £1100 in 2019. The poor boy is suffering. His dad was a straight and his mum was a fold.
@sgilmour47 I have a cat that upon getting a genetic test for found out is a significant portion Scottish Fold and LaPerm. She had issues with arthritis rather early, but a supplement I have been giving her has worked great for it (Joint Purrfecion by Liquid Health), it's a beef flavored liquid you can give them with their food. It took a month to have affect, but she hasn't limped since.
Not true, these cats are great
I'm gonna buy one soon.❤️❤️

Rename the video 7 reason to buy a Scottish fold
Scottish fold have disability, but it doesn't mean they don't deserve to live, there are people who are born with disabilities and they try to live the best life as they can even if it's short.
They deserve to NOT be in pain. Why breed a cat that you KNOW will feel pain due to its genes? It is not a random disability. The folds ARE the problem, and still we breed it...
Yes they deserve to live, but there shouldn't be born new scottish fold. If you want one, get one from the shelter and give her the life with the least possible pain. Yes there are humans with disability. But no one gets a child with the target of one specific disability which causes the child pain to the rest of its life, just for the sake to look a little bit cuter. Think about it this way!
I think both of you misunderstood what I am saying, I don't mean that we should keep breeding them, what I mean is if a Scottish fold is born, we should give it a comfortable life, not euthanize them just because they exist.
