This keyboard is also a controller? Razer Huntsman V3 Pro TKL Review

This is my review of the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Tenkeyless. This is an update to the Huntsman line up that includes interesting additions like adjustable actuation levels, a rapid trigger for super fast action and even an analog mode that works as a replacement for your gaming controller.
This keyboard surprised me in a number of ways. It's comfortable, capable and has some hidden highlights that aren't immediately obvious at first glance. I've been using it for a few weeks now, so wanted to talk about how it's stacked up.
There are certainly a few things to like. It's quieter than other Razer keyboards I've tried in the past and the keypresses are satisfying, but more importantly it's highly customisable. You can see the whole keyboard to a specific actuation point, switch between different modes/profiles for different game styles and tweak the rapid trigger too. With Razer Synapse, you can do more too, including adjusting settings on a per-key basis.

  • Looks good, I have the Tartarus Pro from razer and it uses the actuation stuff, it's a nice feature. As for keyboard though, I will stick with my Drop ALT TKL :)

  • I'd rather play with a controller, tbh. I don't like the fact that if you have this keyboard it actively disables controller use.

    • So this is what causing the issues? Can you tell me how to disable it?

  • Yeah, RoN is really good. But we play only "barricaded suspects" and never bother with non-lethal weapons. Basically it is a successor to Raven Shield.

  • This keyboard is great but it sound horrendous and it's way too loud. Bad sound is not really what bothers me that much but BOY is it loud. Wakes up half of the house.

  • Razer needs to clean up its act before its too late. Used be extremely innovative but losing its edge at face ripping prices.

    • Have you seen the new Logitech keyboard?

    • I gave up on Razer many years ago when they removed the (hardware based) ability to save settings/macros directly onto their peripheral devices, chosing instead to force users to create a "free" online account (there's no such thing), and to be online and logged in that account in order to change, save or restore user preferences. The justification at the time was ostensibly cost but the prices of their products didn't come down any for the consumer - all they got for their hard earned money (and the flogging of their email addresses...) was glitzier packaging (useless) and yet more stickers (worthless). I still like to see what the company is up to, inovation-wise, but I'm pig-headed when it comes to sticking to my _"never_ again wil they get my money".

    • @@picnic66You can still save settings and macros on board. Just not lighting. You need Synapse to save it but after that you can delete

    • @@TheProvokedPrawn I tried to reword that post like 4 times. I'm quite a fan of razer but they simply fall short of good and charge for excellence in many cases, particularly audio. And seeing things like the Naga v3 pro still at 180 just pisses me off.
