2:25 - Looks like Mat's messed up again - you have to kick behind the left or right rear wheel to operate the hands-free tailgate. The sensor isn't in the middle, because many Range Rover owners tow. We've issued him with a final written warning... Again!

Speaking of which, could the Range Rover’s unreliability be a deliberate design feature of the car? Because if it is, why would they intentionally design them to be unreliable? I say it’s not so much a design feature as it is an inconvenience for the owner!

6:47 Hey Mat, Have you noticed how the floor is a bit higher in the rear seat compared to the pre-facelift model? I think that's part of the reason your knees are sitting higher. You can tell the floor is different because this model has a completely flat floor while the pre-facelift has a tiny transmission tunnel hump. Great review as always :)

Nobody forced you to watch
The tailgate sensor is on both sides. Same as the Velar, Evoque, etc. You can push the rotary buttons when changing the climate. It will toggle the mode for you. You will get used to it when driving a RR. The slow infotainment remark is right. The navigation is a bit sluggish.
It is always in the sides! At each JLR car. You can also Check this at the JLR homepage. If you don’t know how to use it, don’t do it! 🤷♂️😜

I think metal paddles are optional. More powerful versions have it. Long version has foot rest.
I'd want that rear armrest interior trim around the cupholders in wood and the steering column in leather to match the stitching on the wheel

I own the 2020 Range Rover Autobiography and I just can say it’s an amazing car. Had a few problems with RR with the delivery to Switzerland (my country) and for the importation as well as a dent on the steering wheel that got replaced by RR. Now everything is great and the car is amazing
I'm personally not that big of a fan of the whole geek mode in the reviews when you discuss the tech of the car. But the rest of the review was good :)

Good review. We have a 2016 V8 Supercharged and love it. Plenty of power, Trips are comfy. Mini fridge in the center console/ armrest. Heated/ Vented seats with massage. You can swap out the paddles for OEM aluminum from JLR for ~USD$500.
That touch screen looks awfully laggy! Unacceptable at this price point.
A real bisexual petrol-head very true! Having said that, can you imagine how terrible this will be given the way it performs brand new, at its theoretical prime?

I don't understand why people kick and not swipe their foot in order to trigger the tailgate. By swiping your foot you make sure that you are covering the sensor area. (or is this just to do that whole "oh modern technlogy that never works" act? )
Swipe is the problem usually. The kick is best, BMW’s is great and I used it all the time and it probably didn’t work once which made me look a bit of a dumbass as I was kicking, the sensor is usually mounted in the middle so it might have been that Matt was too far from the sensor in that it was a bit more futures away under the car to avoid any false triggers of people just walking near the car
Love the alloy ring on the steering wheel
The options/equipment voice gives a little bit more variety to the reviews and a bit of a comedic effect. Mat really doesn’t need to ALWAYS be serious in these videos. Give the guy a break- some of us (like me) actually appreciate what he has to say and how he delivers it!

It’s been out since 2013 or 12 I can’t remember that’s why it has no rear wheel steering or they’d have to re design most of the vehicle just for it to sell for around 2 years

In Pakistan it was floped due to two major issues. 1. Steering Rack failure 2. Gear Box failure. And these both require highly expensive repairs that is why people like to have Land Cruiser which is the most favourite vehicle in Pakistan as it is most reliable car. It has been operating in Pakistan for years and it has no issues with its enjine or anything else. In short it is tentionless SUV

@@lor7780 nah man I absolutely love keyless entry and start.. just walk up to the door and walk straight into the car. Especially when your hands are a bit full or its pitch black.. When I go University I just leave my car keys buried at the bottom. Unlocks and locks the car and starts it without even touching the key. It's safe and I dont have to fumble with it. I cant go back to your usual central locking and may after. Its amazingly useful.

Keyless has been standard on Range Rovers for at least a decade, not sure what your point is?
Pretty sure you can have rear wheel steering as an option, or at least that's what the configurator says on their website. Maybe outside UK market ?

To open the tailgate you do it from the back left and right by the sensor right by the tire below the headlight

Great video as always. Cheers Carwow team. I took a Velar for a test in 2018 and the build quality interior was rubbish. The drive quality was like driving a builders van. I got a Porsche Macan S instead and very happy
I was gonna rent a Velar last October and went with a W222 instead. Is the Landie really that bad? It looks nice in pictures and in the metal
Felice Graziano it’s not too bad but with any JLR product comparing it you notice the difference in quality on this big flagship it’s probably less so an issue as they try their best but on lower end models it’s probably not as polished. The infotainment system thankfully is a bit better but still bmw and Audi have far better quality and technology. Obviously Porsche does also
It is a great car, full stop, but my parents old BMW 5 series 1995 had the soft lighting and many other extras - 1:48. At 2.20 as if Harry from The Windsors on ITV4 started reviewing the car.
