Coming back to this feels like visiting an old friend... 2015. I was a sophomore in high school. Depressed. Hopelessly in love with a boy who I know now would never love me the way I loved him. I wrote poetry every second of every day, trying desperately to lessen the pain in my head & in my heart. I would write with this song on repeat. It was my lifeblood. My oxygen. I hoped to someday write music like this. Someday. Now, I’m well into college. I make my own music, I’m going to publish a poetry book soon, & I study art. I am proud that I stayed true to my 15 year old dreams. I still love that same boy, but he left me long ago. Bless my darkness. Bless my light. -much love to whoever read this 🖤

Believing in true love at 15 is a bit delusional. People romanticize relationships and "love" but people typically aren't responsible enough to withstand a real and honest relationship until their mid twenties and quite possibly older.

I'm soon to graduate college, healed from my traumas, met someone from a completely different country who redefined my definition of love and makes me feel safer than I thought possible. My life was very dark when I first found this song in high school and it was very dark when I posted my original comment. Life is slowly getting better. The dark lasted a long time but the sun is coming.

I kept listening and then heard the Electronic distortion that i could've sworn that sounded like EDEN's signature noise. Then i heard "You can't escape forever"... I realise how many different ways your songs can take on so many meanings metiphorically litteraly and metaphysically. Some people just dont understand and this song got me. I just got to reiterate my self. You showed me something about myself when you highlighted scared of people. I have had a hard go of things and tried to escape people and the world for years. I just couldnt deal with being mistreated and seeing others done so .I lost my trust and maybe I go off on people sometimes for what i perceive in a twisted judgemental state of mind im going to have to work on radical exceptance.

i remember sometime in 2017 i got jumped while out late at night. i ended up getting taken home by the police. i had just recently discovered eden at the time. this song and quite frankly his voice in general reminds me of that night. the relief i felt when i got home, the embarrassment, the hate. my life was turned on it's head that day. i'm appreciative of his songs because they were there when no one else was.

I haven't listened to Eden in quite a while because he was with me during some dark times in my life and I couldn't bring myself to look back on that. I'm sitting in my room and I'm supposed to study and get up in less than six hours but here I am bawling my eyes out over this song and who I was when I last listened to it. I feel like it's good to look back sometimes, I can see now how much I've grown and how far I've come. I'm in a much better place today and I'll definitely let Eden be part of that too.
