  • This microphone is so good I don't even have to have it on camera in front of my face, I have this thing at the far left side of my ultrawide monitor on the left side of my desk. I have at LEAST a 3 foot gap between my chair and my microphone, laying back relaxing in my chair no additional movement needed.

  • As far as handling noise, a broadcast mic WILL have handling noise. It's not a stage vocalist mic. It's a matter of the type of mic not the cost. I usually use one of my c414s for broadcast. Guess what? It has handling noise. Yes, that's overkill, but I have them so I use them. My concern is the self noise and noise floor. That's where quality comes in. If a USB mic can provide good performance there, then I would encourage anyone to use them.

  • Hi! Been doing a ton of research into microphones as the Yeti Nano I've had for a while is really getting on my nerves with how quiet and finnicky it can be. Do you have a recommendation for a microphone that would be ideal from a distance of about 2 feet (next to my monitor) that would be decently flexible for my frequent reclining? The Sennheiser and NXZT microphones showed here both seem interesting, but I'm curious if I should even look into shotgun microphones or something? Definitely willing to spend a good amount to have this issue behind me with a recommendation from such an expert as yourself. Thank you!

    • @@bluesunrise2323that'll sound great, I have a very similar setup, but you're at over twice the price of the NZXT for a small improvement in some sreas and decrease in others as your missing a low noise preamp (cloudlofter/fethead etc.) and a compressor. And then most of the detail of your setup is going to be lost by the setups of the people listening anyway. If you're passionate and can afford it thats great have fun with it. But otherwise you might as well just get a usb mic and spend the money on something else maybe some lights/webcam or maybe a new game to play

  • NZXT has consistently beat my expectations despite the “feel” of their brand not giving me a lot of confidence if that makes sense. But I’ve bought several of their cases and they are a good deal for the money even if their website and many of their products look like a rave. The fact that I can drive to Best Buy and get one of their cases and know it will be a pretty good value for the money, and reasonably easy to build in, is invaluable to me. They also straight up replaced for me no questions asked my side panel when I dropped and shattered it. I just asked how to buy a replacement. I’ve not ventured past cases with them though. It’s good to hear they are making solid products in a variety of areas. Feels like you can generally trust them to be prosumer grade. I’ll probably try some of their non case gear soon, based mainly on your various reviews of their products. It would be nice to see them keep growing in this direction.

  • It's a shame that one of the best budget options for affordable microphones half the world isn't even aware of. A german manufacturer/seller named Thomann sells their own brand of mics, called "The T.bone" and they have some banger options there! Especially the T.Bone sc 420 is an insane deal these days that blows pretty much everything else out of the water for the price. They only ship to europe as far as i know, but if you ever get your hands on one of these it would be interesting to hear your opinion on them.

  • Q2U (and mics with similar characteristics like the ampligame am8) will always blow any other USB mics out of the water. Having XLR functionality on a USB mic that sounds pristine is a godsend, and at a good price. It would be a good idea to seek sponsored videos from Samson, Fifine and any company willing to adopt the hybrid usb/xlr design.
