Rusted Spring FORGED into a beautiful Butterfly knife

Today i made a Ballisong Knife out of a rusted Giant SPRING. People also known it as butterfly knife. This is professionally made knife and it is very efficient and light weight in use. The steel of the blade was hardened and tempered and the Brass handle was also annealed to release stress.
Steel type = 5190
Carbon occurrence = 0.90%
Brass type = yellowish
Knife weight = 133 Grams
Overall Length = 9 Inches or 228 mm
Perfectly made by Random Hands group. Only for decoration but could be use professionally.

Always wear leather gloves while sanding knives. Always keep a First Aid Kit at your work place.

  • I admire your creativity, especially with basic tools but as a 25 year machinist/Tool maker I can tell you that wearing gloves with spinning machinery (drill press/grinding wheel/polishing wheel etc) is the first major thing not to do! Its literally lesson 1 . Cutting/scratching your hands up(even a good cut) is better than taking off your hand/fingers when they get sucked into the wheel!

  • I was left a house with a whole workshop in a will from an old friend. His name was Julian Beecroft and he was a machinist and made all sorts of things. I had a house and all I needed so I let it go to his next of kin. They sold his tools and his property but he was a wonderful man. An author, a machinist, a musical talent on piano, a nutritionist, a craftsman and much more. He passed away at age 96 I do believe but he had to live in a home which he dreaded. R.I.P Julian and may you always be remembered!!

  • Remember as a kid I had all these knifes , this One In gold , black silver and my boot knife throwing knifes and switch blades. And a switchblade comb . Throwin stars and homemade broom handle nunchucks . The 80s we all carried them . This is very pretty. New sub. I just found u. Is anybody making the switchblade? The bootknife I'm talking about was double edge dagger with a black rough metal handle shaped kinda like a cross, only about 4 in. Long i think...maybe 5..you do great work.
